I do believe I am singhandedly the worst reviewer in the history of history. I read every single chapter, and either have to run out directly afterwards, or can't find the right words to compliment this astounding piece of literature.
I was hooked right from the start. This is all so realistic I could see it happening on the show. Well, maybe not on the show, but you catch my drift. All of them are completely in character. Not a single one of them reads awkwardly or OOC. That takes a lot of skill to be able to do.
Although teh Waldsen is the centre of the fics, as they should be, I really like that the rest of the Upper East Side is included. While I'm sure all of us would just love for it to be the two of them, alone, forever; that just doesn't happen.
Their respective coming-outs to their mothers were both so quintessentially them. Serena and her stubborness when it comes to being herself and keeping those she loves close to her. And Blair with her excrutiatingly fragile relationship with her mother and her repressed self loathing. Eleanor and Lilly both being rather supportive was quite a nice touch; as many parents these days are becoming more accepting. Not everyone's mother disowns them anymore.
The Dan/Serena dynamic is pure awesome. The ease with which Dan let go was not only chivalrous, but something I can see him doing. And their developing friendship is utterly adorable. Dan is Serena's male BFF, basically.
And speaking of the BFF's. Simply put; I love them. Eveything about their relationship flows so well. You can see exactly why they love each other so much. Neither one is more interesting nor outshines the other one. They're equally fantastic. Teh Waldsen are just so cute, and touching, and loving, and hawt, and fun. Everything anyone could wish for. Back in Chapter6, when Blair couldn't bear the thought of losing Serena so she basically willed herself to do something she didn't really want to do in an effort to keep her, and when Serena immediately realised that; it broke my heart in such a good way.
Nate's a douche. But he's pretty much always a douche, so you've nailed him spot on. =]
I am a fan of the public outing they got, courtesy of Gossip Girl. Blair's total air of nonchalance with the: “Oh, whatever! Like this is so shocking. Girls kissing girls, oh my god the sky is falling! Admit it, you would all make out with her too!” was so her. And the fact that everyone just basically all admitted teh Waldsen are mega hot and then moved on, was pure gold.
I just love this. I save every chapter to my crappy laptop and read certain chapters when I'm having a shite day. The power of words is unsurpassed, I say.
And so, [wow, could this thing be any longer?], I end this by just saying:
From what she had been able to tell, while Blair was, as Dan had said, a 95 pound, doe-eyed, label whoring, package of girly entitlement, she had also been able to determine that the brunette was smart, clever, sensitive and probably far more self-aware than others, including Dan gave her credit for. That is Blair. Pure and simple.
and...
Blair’s eyes flashed and Serena quickly reached out, wrapping her arms around Blair’s waist, drawing the brunette close into her body as Blair attempted to rush Dan – most likely to throttle him to death.
“He’s joking, B,” Serena said desperately into Blair’s ear as her eyes lifted to glare at Dan. “He knows the entire score to My Fair Lady,” she continued soothingly, smirking at Dan when Vanessa turned to look at him questioningly. “I’ve personally heard him sing the chorus of ‘I’ve Grown Accustomed to her Face’.”

WIN! To the highest power plus three.
