That was one of my favorite things about the book (how the victors were all either drunks, morphling addicts, sociopaths, on on their way to becoming one of those things). It's just so real.

I liked that about the books too. I mean, really when you think about it what these people what through and at the ages they did, they are not going to be shiny, happy, well adjusted people (especially the younger ones).

seeing the victors cope after the games is more interesting than what they did during the games (to me, at least).

You're not alone! I really liked seeing how the different victors coped as well. One thing I wish is that we'd gotten to learn more about the victors (besides Finnick who got a decent amount of coverage).

Dark but fascinating stuff.
