"Doomsday " Trailer ... a.k.a. Rhona Mitra fights zombies, saves the world and looks fucking hot!

In DOOMSDAY, a lethal virus spreads throughout a major country and kills hundreds of thousands. To contain the newly identified Reaper, the authorities brutally quarantine the country as it succumbs to fear and chaos.

The literal walling-off works for three decades – until Reaper violently resurfaces in a major city. An elite group of specialists, including Eden Sinclair (Ms. Mitra), is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare.

Seriously though, not only does the film star Rhona Mitra it also stars Bob Hoskins, Alexander Siddig (Dr. Bashir!!!!), MyAnna Buring & Nora-Jane Noone (Sam and Holly from "The Descent") Adrian Lester ("Hustle" and "Being Human"), and Alex fucking DeLarge, um I mean Malcolm fucking McDowell! And it's directed by Neil Marshall who has made two of my favorite horror films of recent years Dog Soliders and The Descent (which I love more than I have words to express)

All of this means, that not only do I get to see Rhona Mitra being sexy and beating up people on the big screen, I get to see her doing it in a good movie with an awesome cast. Score!

Despite the 'Escape from New York' ripoff feel, I am looking forward to this movie for the reasons you've mentioned - I loved 'The Descent' - and if there just so happens to be a little subtext between Rhona and either of the Descent ladies, all the better. Plus, strong women going out and beating the crap out of bad guys and saving the day is always fun, just ask all the TSCC fans.

I second the "strong chicks beating the crap out of the bad guys" being awesome idea - that was kinda the first thing I thought when I heard about this movie. The next being an Escape from LA flashback (xD), a fervent wish that it's better than the third Resident Evil, and "hey, I've never seen that actress before. Finally, a good-looking movie chick that's NOT Angelina Jolie!" Who, honestly, would be interesting to see in this movie if it didn't already have a lead. But the actress that played Jill Valentine in the second Resident Evil would be fun to see in this cast, too.

And yes, I love brunettes, in case you couldn't tell. xD

They're trying to get her to look like Kate Beckinsale in Underworld.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. *g*

And since she's been cast in the Underworld prequel... I'm sure they, too, are banking on that very resemblance.

I never said there was. Far from it. *g*

That's right, I forogt about that. Too bad Kate isn't even in it. Supposedly it takes place before she was even born. I don't think it'll be the same without her. But I think her twin might make up for it ;)

Goodness me that's a sexy picture. Also very Kate Beckinsale-esque as someone above me pointed out. Will she be wearing her British accent in this movie?

I really hope this movie does not turn out to be pure suckage. It looks like a cross between 28 Weeks Later and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. I'm hoping for good action, hot women, snarky dialog, and fun camp. It's coming out on my birthday, so please Movie Gods, make it entertaining!

Despite the fact that when I saw the trailer the other night, I could have sworn someone ripped off Resident Evil: Apocalypse (small city, try to contain the infection, panic at the gates, motorcycles crashing through windows, etc) and threw in a Kate Beckinsale wannabe (still very, very independently sexy, but reminds me a lot of K. Beck in Underworld), I'm totally going to see this movie. I finally saw "The Descent" based off of a friend's recommendation and I loved it, so hopefully this will be as awesome.

Speaking of "The Descent," I watched "The Cave" recently just 'cause Lena's in it. And really...it was a pretty similar story. "The Descent" was better overall, but "The Cave" had Lena...
