I was a bit worried about the 'kill you twice' comment, but I think that Alice is very protective of Ivy in her own way, and that she knows the possible risks of their relationship. She just knows that the benefits if it works, far outweigh those risks. But, a mother's gotta do, what a mother's gotta do.
