If they were allready showing adverse affects from the treatments I don't think it would be safe.

Maybe that's why they keep them working for the company, so that they can monitor them, and if they start having leaks regularly then they send them to "the attic" - whatever that turns out to be.

In the first ep they told us that Echo would be working for 5 years then let go. How about after 5 years they put back the old personality (according to contract)... with a bit more and give them a job.

I can't help but feel like the 5 year contract thing was just a lie to get people to sign. I mean, with their memories gone, none of them REMEMBER they signed a contract, and none of them TOLD anyone about joining the Dollhouse, so why would the company let them go? They could keep imprinting them forever and the Active would never remember about the contract. Financially, it just seems kind of ridiculous to let them go and risk exposure when they don't have to. Morally they should, but they don't seem to be that concerned with morals.

Most of the actives (who probably are affected by the treatment) would become the docile in house staff, who (though in the background) dont seem to be much more personable than Echo in her blank state.

I could totally see this happening, only without their original personalities being in tact. Maybe after 5 years the Actives start to get sick or something, and can't be used as much, so they give them a docile personality imprint that will last for ever and set them to work. And then those who displayed a particular aptitude as Actives (like Claire, or maybe even Adelle) get given personalities that give them more important jobs.

Untill this week I was actually begining to think that they had given handlers treatment too... even just an underlying loyalty thing if not a full personality. But that doesnt really fit in with the uncaring iddiot they gave sierra.

That was a good theory. Like the tell the handlers that by looking at the doll and reading the script they are bonding the doll to them, but they are actually being bonded to the doll too by looking down at the flashing lights or whatever. Man, that would have been a cool idea.

Sierra's douche-tastic handler does seem to negate that though. *sigh*

I mean I get why he stayed after a few outings with Echo, but how did they find someone so morally sound that they knew they could trust. I really hope we get more back story.

This.

Hmm not sure that really makes sense... still working through the kinks

Yeah. I loved that this show makes you wonder and speculate!
