Saw it last night and yes, despite my reservations, I LOVED it!

Karl Urban was definitely channeling Deforrest Kelly in his role. Loved his 'Dammit, Jim!' line every time he shot Kirk full of something with his hypo.."Green Blooded Hobgoblin!' LOL!

Spock/Uhura? WOWOWOW! Now the scene where she complains about her initial posting to 'Farragut' made sense. i see many a fic on how they met coming...

The Enterprise itself...hmmm....it didn't really get me going too much...but I guess it couldn't look too much like past ships.

Ok, I do have some nitpicks:

1) If Uhura had heard that distress call about the Klingons fighting the Romulan ship (which she told Kayla when Kirk was under the bed) why didn't she tell Pike? She even apologized about it when Kirk was looking for reasons to stop Enterprise. That just seemed like a serious lack of protocol or basic orders. Withholding of info like that is almost criminal.

2) The 'air drop' scene. Loved it, sounded cool...but, if they were attacking the mining thingy...why the hell didn't they have ANY heavy weapons? Heck, even hand phasers would've helped. The other guy died with the charges and Sulu only had a sword?? No one else thought to maybe bring a phaser rifle?

3) WTF happened to Starfleet while Nero's ship hovered over the Earth? Why didn't they attack? What happened to the planetary defenses? I know Nero got some 'subpace coordinates' *insert more techno-babble* from Pike but I was hoping to see a lot of Starfleet committed to a big defense.

I know there're more nitpicks, but that's about it.

Overall, great movie but I did notice some things that glared out.
