Don't feel sorry about scaring people off. I think KH screwed up bad enough with this one to deserve losing a few sales to a disgruntled (read: Righteously angry) reader.

I'm with you on this. It's best to let us readers know so that we can stop lining her pockets with our pain and misery. I think I've given her enough chances to get this series back on track. If there are people who like the direction it's going in (which I find hard to believe) fine, but I'm not one of them and I'm going to stop paying for these books.
