I don't know, it feels like, instead of continuing writing in the way that made the books successful, Harrison's aping other author's themes. And I'm like 'goddamn woman, you're a NY Times best-selling author. People should be mimicking YOU. Not the other way around!'.

Lol, so true. I guess the part that sucks is that there are parts of this book I legitimately like. I really enjoyed the first ten chapters, it read like classic Hollows, and then it turns into 'The Pierce and Rachel show, guest starring Al'. And the contrivances Harrison uses to get Ivy *and* Jenks out of the way are just.. teeth grinding!
