Oh, The Gates! You tease!
The Claire/Devon scenes on this show are made of pure win. It’s like not only have Rhona Mitra and Chandra West decided that eye-fucking constantly is a necessity for their characters, but the writers, director, lighting and set design people also agree that their scenes need to be infused with epic amounts of sexual tension. Seriously, when Claire locked the door and then began to saunter towards Devon, while Devon smirked at her smugly I thought they were going to do it right on the work bench. And that scene with Devon drawing Claire’s blood, Mm.
Speaking of ‘Mm’ that scene between Claire and Dylan was also pretty hot (and I actually liked the song this played during Claire’s walk to bedroom). Rhona Mitra’s mouth touching another person is always a good recipe for sexy times, and when you combine it with Claire provoking Dylan to get him to be more animalistic ... Mm x infinity plus 1. Thank god there was some sexy vampire loving on TV last night (because other than that Pam scene True Blood grossed me the hell out *shudder*)
I’m still utterly bored to tears by Charlie and Andie. I don’t care. Andie being a succubus is kind of cool, but she’s stuck in this useless waste of a storyline which makes me not really give a shit. I can’t even recall most of what happened in the Charlie/Andie scenes because I was so mind-numbingly bored.
The werewolves on the hand, I’m getting more intrigued by. I like the pretty blond wolf boy, and I’m interested in learning more about the werewolf subculture and pack life. Plus, I continue to dig the tension between Brett/Pretty!Blond. I don’t know if those actors got the same memo Rhona and Chandra did about gaying up their scenes as much as possible, but I suspect they did because the boys are bringing it too!
The Chief continues to be an insufferable asshole. It’s like, the guy is right about so much but he just does everything in the most grating, condescending way which makes it impossible to root for him. I totally want a scene sometimes in the future (hopefully near) where Dylan Radcliff gets pimp slap the hell out of the Chief.
I wish we’d gotten more of Leigh Turner’s (Janina Gavankar’s) personal life this episode instead of The Live of Loves of Deputy Whitebread. Honestly, the guy deputy doesn’t bug me, but he doesn’t really interest me either, and Leigh seems to be the one with the secrets and the charisma so I’d rather be spending more time with her than with the other one.
Devon continues to be a fierce bitch, and I continue to be interested and confused as hell as to what her interest is in Claire (beyond my femslash fantasies). I will however throw the idea out there that Claire’s neighbour didn’t seen shit, and Devon made up that story about the spell to obscure her memory to make Claire feel pressured and thus send Claire into Devon’s waiting clutches.
All in all, eagerly awaiting next week!

yes, the whole "vampire-diaries-one-tree-hill" thing going on w/ Charlie & Andie IS a snoozer. the ONLY thing that saves it from me turning when those 2 are on are the werewolves. however, Andie could really take it up a notch w/ the whole Succubus thing-- but i doubt that'll happen.
i'm just curious about whether there are any female werewolves? i almost wish Devon was because i'd imagine it'd ratchet up the sexual tension between Claire and her.
as for the Chief? like 'nails on a chalkboard.' i'd rather the focus more on his wife than him. hell i'd even watch "supernatural-one-tree-hill" involving his son that watch him. i almost wished that the slightly werewolf-Deliverance-father did a little 'harm' to him. the only way this part of the storyline might become interesting is if he was challenged on his notions of 'good and evil/black or white' pertaining to his sense of justice. like that whole bit where he questioned Devon? he's about to find himself w/ little to no allies in this community. yes, there's no doubt she's got her sexy-lil' hands involved w/ everything, but how would he have a "clue" via her selling her tea to the obviously wrong former Chief's killer?!
finally, the whole Devon/Claire thing??? CLEARLY the writers know about the world of femslash! they might as well throw Cara from LotS for good measure. i mean come on!!! but yeah, even I had to adjust my collar after that scene in Devon's 'magic shop.'
as for True Blood: i DEFINITELY laughed more than once. like when Sam's REALLY unfortunate family members showed up in his bar. i knew nothing good could come from that.
i thought dumb-as-a-box-full-tacks Jason "attempting" to study for a police exam was comical. can he even read??? I also cracked up when the Chief quit! hell i would've done the same damn thing!
Sookie continues to annoy the HELL outta me! Bill actually seems more palatable w/o her. i'm diggin' his Maker(?)/Sire Lorena. and that sex scene he dreamed up was like something out of Twin Peaks! what the hell was that??!!! that was totally creepy! like having sex in the middle of brutal car accident.
now the sex scene between Tara & 'new guy' Franklin-- i'm queerer than black sunshine, yet i kinda wanted to have sex w/ him. wow!
as for Pam's lick-fest: what the heck was that?! a hurricane?! if it was: good for her 'trick', bad for us viewers. clearly Alan Ball could've used the "services" of an expert woman-loving-woman (like femslash writers/fans) to assist in what lesbian vampire sex, other than sounding like a slurpy-machine at 7-Eleven.
so that's all i gotta say about last nite. all in all, FABULOUS!

They haven't said the word 'witch' yet, but based on her convo with Peg in the first episode, and the fact that we also see her mixing things and that a big deal was made out of the effects of her 'tea', I think it's safe to assume. I'm just guessing that 'witching' is a learned craft in this universe and that witches don't have any special abilities beyond their learned spell-making.
Andie could really take it up a notch w/ the whole Succubus thing-- but i doubt that'll happen.
This storyline on paper SHOULD be interesting, but like you I'm not convinced it will be. I don't really think the girl playing Andie is all that good. I didn't notice as much in the first episode, but I was really underwhelmed by her screen presence in episode 2.
i'm just curious about whether there are any female werewolves? i almost wish Devon was because i'd imagine it'd ratchet up the sexual tension between Claire and her.
I hope we see female weres too! I hate that female werewolves are like never shown in tv/films.
I wish Devon was a were too, because like you said were/vampire intensity would make their scenes even hotter, but also we'd get to see hints of naked Devon every time she changed forms!
he's about to find himself w/ little to no allies in this community.
Not very smart. It's like his first week there isn't it? It's like you said, we the viewers know he's right to be suspicious of certain people, but based on what HE knows he taking a lot of fucking liberties with these people. He is way too in people's faces, given that he has like no proof of anything.
but yeah, even I had to adjust my collar after that scene in Devon's 'magic shop.'
I know, right! That scene was ridiculously hot. I almost wonder if television sets would actually ignite if Rhona/Chandra got to kiss on screen!
re: true blood
Oooh, Sam's bio-family is a train wreck. I HATE Tommy. He's a smarmy little shit. Then again, look at his parents. Sam's mom is the only one I kind of like, but I feel like she's going to turn out to be the biggest prick of them all, so I can't fully like her even though she seems sweet/sympathetic right now.
Jason "attempting" to study for a police exam was comical. can he even read??? I also cracked up when the Chief quit! hell i would've done the same damn thing!
After that scene, I'm beginning to doubt it. Jason is sweet, but boy howdie is that boy dumb.
And Deerborne quitting was great! I could totally see an old guy like him just having enough of it. The "I'm too old for this shit!" speech was gold. And I have to admit the possibility of Chief Andy Bellefluer makes me smile!
and that sex scene he dreamed up was like something out of Twin Peaks! what the hell was that??!!! that was totally creepy!
Was that a dream? DEAR GOD I HOPE SO! The least said about the scene the better. Honestly, that scene disturbed the hell out of me and the head twisting was completely unnecessary. I understood that Bill was really, really, really ... really mad at Lorena before that.
now the sex scene between Tara & 'new guy' Franklin
I honestly found this scene kind of weird/funny. Tara seemed to enjoy what he was doing a lot, but I found the faces they were making to be ... uncomfortable. I'm definitely interested by these two though, and am enjoying their scenes together.
as for Pam's lick-fest: what the heck was that?! a hurricane?! if it was: good for her 'trick', bad for us viewers.
Yeah, that scene was not as sexy as it should have been considering it was PAM going down on a stripper. Then again, I've found that this show isn't really great with romantic/erotic type love scenes. They just go hard and dirty on this show, so it doesn't surprise me that THAT was how they handled Pam's first on-screen sexing (which is a real shame, because I would love to see a genuinely romantic/erotic love scene with Pam and another female character).
