"Push the button, Servilia!" (tm Dezbot)

[mood| naughty]

Thank you ROME! Ep. 1-7 "Pharsalus" with its Les!Yay was just what I needed after a long week of marking and doing interim reports. Seriously, I don't care what anybody else says, Servilia/Octavia is Hot, hot, with a double scoop of hotness on top. (With just a bit, a dash perhaps, of hot for flavor.)tm WhiteRabbit.

Last week my friend told me that I was crazy; that I was reading too much into the interactions between Servilia and Octavia. That Octavia's little swallow as Servilia came close to her, and her dreamy doe-eyed gazing at Servilia was indicative of her reveling in having a mother-figure that was actually maternal and not an indication of Octavia wanting to knock boots with Servilia.

He changed his tune after Octavia's masturbation (and consequent prayer)scene however. And what a masturbation scene it was (though too short). I was never on the Kerry Condon lust train, but that scene and this episode surely changed that. Ooooh, Octavia, you saucy little minx! Seriously though Condon did an awesome job portraying Octavia's longing, you could really just feel her desire every time Octavia and Servilia were on screen together.

So he was right there whispering "kiss, kiss" along with me during the hug of sublimated longing. Seriously, that was like the sexiest hug I have ever seen on tv, with Octavia kind of smelling Servilia and looking at her neck like she just wanted to lick, and suck and kiss her skin until the sun went down.

And when the kiss came it was totally worth the wait. Weaving was never so much fun, I'm sure. Sure some people were disappointed at the fade to black right after, but I didn't have a problem with it. The build up, and then the kiss itself (from Octavia's awkward, over-eager, and anxious caresses to the first tentative touch of her lips to Servilia and then firmer contact when she realized that Servilia wasn't going to pull away. Masterful) were more than enough.

Although I know it can't end well, I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out. Especially seeing more kissage/snuggleage, and I especially can't wait to see what Atia's reaction to Octavia sleeping with the enemy is going to be (besides hilarious, which is guarenteed).

Cannot wait until Sunday!

P.S. All of the tm's are from the ROME forum at Television without Pity

Okay, why have I never heard of this show? I'm salivating at the realisation of UST and I don't even know who you're talking about. I think a net search is in order *g*.

*gasp* Never heard of "ROME". Well, we'll have to do something about that won't we, lol. It's on HBO, and it's about well ancient Rome (right now we're in the period of the fall of the Republic, with Julius Caesar and Marc Antony and Cleopatra and all of that jazz).

Now, I think the show is AWESOME (I also happen to be an ancient history junkie, and love anything that happens to do with ancient greece and rome, but despite that the show really is very good)!

And let me tell you, the UST between Octavia and Servilia in this episode is worth the figurative price of admission! There was some heavy duty eye-shagging going on, not to mention the masturbation scene of repressed desire, and then the actual kissage :)

Mininova (www.mininova.org) and Torrentspy (www.torrentspy.com) are two bittorrent sites that you can download the episodes from.

P.S. Octavilia doesn't start getting hot until ep. 6 and 7, but the Atia character will more than make up for the hotness until then. Atia is a goddess, and often nude goddess, lol!

I just watched episode seven and it definitely looks like a show I can get into. I not only loved the Octavilia/Servilia scenes, but also the whole plot surrounding Ceasar and Pompeii - I love ancient history, although I'm more familiar with the mythology than reality.

I hadn't realised it was a BBC co-production, so the fact I recognised practically all the actors from various tv shows came as a surprise, but that also means it'll be shown on the beeb very soon. So now I just have to decide if I can wait, or if I need to start downloading the earlier eps, so I know who's who.

Thanks for the heads up.

Sweet! Another "Rome" convertee! First, my co-workers, then ralst, next ... the world! Mawhahahahahaha

Yeah, the political and personal intrigues on this show are awesome. There's always so much going on, and knowing the history and destiny's of so many of the characters and watching them grow, and seeing how they get there is cool (esp. cause I only know the bare bones of the history so the dramatic liscenes the show takes don't bother me. I'm more of a mythology buff too).

The only thing missing from episode 7, was Octavian (who is only like 15 but one of the coolest characters on the show). Well, that and there wasn't enough Atia (and her classic lines like "Have you penetrated anything yet?" or "A large penis is always welcome" - which Servilia proved wrong this week, hee.)

I hadn't realised it was a BBC co-production, so the fact I recognised practically all the actors from various tv shows

Such a great cast. I'd seen Ciaran Hinds, James Purfoy, Ian McNiece (hello Baron Harkonnen), and Indira Varma before, but the rest of the cast was new to me. And what a lovely discovery they were, Polly Walker, Lindsay Duncan in particular have really blown me away, but Max Pirkis, Ray Stevenson and Kevin McKidd have also greatly impressed me. Whoa, more British actors to squee over that no one I know has ever heard of!

Thanks for the heads up.

No problem, it was my pleasure.
