Work is killing me right now, but thank goodness for Army Wives giving me a pleasant les!yay-rific break from the torture, and inspiring me to occupy myself with lovely femslash for a little while before plunging back into purgatory. You rock, Army Wives ;)

Claudia Joy reached over stroking the silky strands of dark hair splayed over her chest.
She had meant to get up and head home after Denise had fallen asleep, but her friend had looked so peaceful that she couldn’t bare the thought of accidentally waking her up as she tried to leave. She knew that Denise hadn’t been getting much sleep over the past few months and that she could use every extra minute she could get.
Brushing some hair behind her ear, Claudia Joy bent down and pressed a soft kiss to Denise’s cheek, surprised to feel a hand grasping her arm tightly when she moved to pull back a moment later.
Denise stared up at her best friend, her eyes alight with a desire that she couldn’t quite identify but that pulsed through her strongly. She needed … she didn’t quite know what she needed and contemplated what it might be for a moment, before realizing that it was just that. She needed.
Claudia Joy gasped as she felt Denise’s lips press against her own firmly, the other woman’s arm moving from hers to wrap around her and pull her tighter against her.
Claudia Joy’s lips parted and Denise’s tongue entered her mouth, deepening the kiss as she kept their bodies pressed tightly together.
“Please,” Denise whispered against Claudia Joy’s lips before kissing her desperately again. “Please.”
Claudia Joy’s hand twitched against Denise’s hip where it had been resting since the other woman first kissed her, and then she slowly began to slide her hand up Denise’s torso, her hand moving to cup Denise’s breast through her t-shirt a few seconds later.
Denise sighed and arched into Claudia Joy’s touch, her lips stilling against the other woman’s and she gave herself over to the sensations that Claudia Joy’s hand was producing in her, and then, before she was even conscious of moving, she was leaning over Claudia Joy pressing her down onto the mattress as she straddled her.
“I …” Denise started as she opened her eyes and started down at the familiar face of her friend in such an unfamiliar position.
“I know,” Claudia Joy whispered back, her lips curving up comfortingly, arching up a second later to bring their lips together. “I’ve got you,” she murmured tenderly as Denise guided her hands back up to her chest before bringing their lips came together once again.

You'll watch it, Kim Delany will bring the slash, Brigid Brannagh will bring the snark and Sally Pressman will bring the kickass, all the girls will bring the "lets nickname Catherine Bell's vajajay" and the wedding will be back on in a jiffy. okay, i admit that i watched the first 2 eps. this morning because it was "on demand"...but i had to chase it down w/ an ida lupino women in prison movie to cleanse the after taste it left behind...all right, it wasn't horrible...i have voluntarily watched worse...though i have to commend the writers for establishing the lifetime perfect formula w/in the first 10 minutes:
1) whore w/ a heart of gold...(check)
2) pregnant chick...(check)
3) domestic abuse...(check)
4) women empowered...(check)
and the coup de gras
shameless displays of hetero love...(check) and (double check)...
You'll watch it, Kim Delany will bring the slash, Brigid Brannagh will bring the snark and Sally Pressman will bring the kickass, all the girls will bring the "lets nickname Catherine Bell's vajajay"
and here is what's good...it's a very decent cast, the writing isn't bad, but the plotting needs a few ep. to hit it's stride...okay, so i totally love roxy and kitty bell and kin delany are total MILF's and some very sexy thoughts of them together are a'runnin' and i want to smoke some cigarettes...the whole birthin' scene was actually was well played and i think roland and joan's arc is the most interesting of them all and it will be an interesting one to watch...and that bar scene was pretty badass...but i still feel all kindsa dirty...(grrr)
the wedding will be back on in a jiffy. I'm telling you "Love Is Just A Heartbeat Away" (we'll get Gloria to sing that too!)

Well, they aren't actually a couple, but I have to wonder if they are hinting at something that could become a future storyline. I mean, every episode there has been a moment that makes me go "they are so gay for each other".
Anyway, I'd definitely recommend the show. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, and I'm now totally hooked on it.

I have been waiting ever so patiently for the Claudia/Denise since... the second episode
lol. I was shipping them in the first episode, after that scene where CJ was caressing Denise's leg when Denise was talking to her and Micheal about Jeremy.
Hopefully more people will be jumping on the Clenise bandwagon soon, I need more fic for these two!

So I watched it...
And loved it.
Kim Delaney rocks my world, since CSI Miami where I know I was the only one who was shipping the Megan/Calleigh relationship.
Catherine Bell was the only reason why I watched like three episodes of JAG and I want Sally Pressman delivered to my house ASAP.
I wouldn't mind seeing some Roxy/Denise love. My heart melted when Roxy 'saved' Denise from the unstable child.

Okay, I'm officially obsessed with the show. I've only watched the first three episodes (downloading #5 at the moment) because I work afternoon/night shifts and always missed it, but so in love.
