Colour me surprised...
Moonlight was actually pretty decent. Changing half of the cast and getting some new creative power behind it definitely helped, because that was pretty enjoyable, and not at all train wreck like, which was the impression given off by the trailer with the original cast.
Alex O'Laughlin is better looking in motion. He also displayed more humor than I was anticipating which definitely helped.
Sophia Myles is, well, she's Sophia Myles so of course she was luminous and awesome. *nods* I like this Beth Turner character. She had to potential to be rather irritating, and I think the fact that she wasn't was mostly due to Sophia Myles, so kudos.
Moar Coraline! NOW! Shannyn Sossamon rocked as Coraline. Yes, okay she was hardly in it and spoke like two lines or whatever, but I loved her from the moment I saw her hovering in the corner of the room in that angelic white outfit, somehow managing to look ethereal and demonic at the same time. Plus, the vamp fight was wicked. Coraline fighting is hot stuff. And with the kidnapping of young Beth, I can already see the potential for twisted femslash when they inevitably meet up again.
Like Josef in theory, I enjoy his paranoia and how he has nicely dressed walking bloodbags around at all times, but all I could think was "Logan Echols in suit" the whole time. I think part of the problem is that Jason Dohring has some very distinctive mannerisms that I've come to associate with Logan so it was kind of distracting. I'll get over it though.

And yes, Coraline was thoroughly creepy. Josef's comments about "you've never been chased by a torch-wielding mob" and "so kill 'em all" were hilarious, and yeah, the walking bloodbags were a nice touch. "82 was a good year" indeed. xD
