Re: No hope for this series now

4/22/09 -- There is always hope, but I don't see them ending up together. Rachel is to flaky to be a good match for Ivy. It would never last. But no fear, I will have happy endings for both of them. --Kim

Ugh. I feel like an addict trying to resist the needle, but I've managed not to purchase another of those blasted books after the fifth one. I'd decided after reading it to just survive on fic, and maybe wiki or summary articles about the other books. I was never wildly impressed with CB's writing. There's no way I'm shelling out for 14 of her books.

If you're looking for something very gay where the girl actually gets the girl, there's a fantasy series (elemental magic in old school fantasy world kind of thing) that I like by Laurie J. Marks. It's very gay, actually. There's only one straight couple in the book. That's really it's only major fault, IMO. It suffers from the Everyone-Is-Gay theme. The writing is good, the characters are great, and the plot is passable. It's called the Elemental Logic series. The first book is Fire Logic. Three are out. I'm not sure if there will be another, but it would make sense to do one for each of the elements.
