Bully's mom: "You're a mother. Why don't you try looking like one?"
Hilda: "Well, you're a woman. Why don't you try looking like one?"

(Evelyn is watching her telenovela)
Evelyn: "So she used to be a stripper but now she's pregnant with the butcher's baby, but he's really her second cousin!"
Wilhelmina: "A story as old as time."

Judith Light is made of awesome, pretty much everything involving Claire Meade last night was pure brilliance. In fact, basically everything Meade on this show is love. I totally dug all of the Daniel/Alexis scenes, from her slapping him in the face with his own hand and throwing her shoe at him, to them attacking each other with bumper cars, to Alexis accusing Daniel of staring at her chest. Awesome. Rebecca Romijn rocks my socks! I've always kind of liked her, but as Alexis Meade she's made me fall in love with her. *dreamy sigh* I hope they don't get rid of Alexis at the end of the season, I don't know how I'd go on without her.

Also, Vanessa Williams continues to rock as Wilhemina, and I continue to adore Marc and Amanda though there wasn't enough Amanada this episode. Also, Hilda = bestest mom ever (well, Claire's easy acceptance of Alexis was really awesome as well, but because Hilda isn't a drunk and a murderer she wins).

Plus, pretty Cesar from "Alias" was on it, which reminded me of Mia Maestro as Nadia, which made me smile.

I think I'll be hitting a "clothes museum" this weekend.

I know! So inappropriately awesome :D They are love. Daniel/Alexis interaction is my new favoritest part of Ugly Betty (I'm convinced that everything they do is sexual tension, and consider it a shout out that Alexis accused Daniel of staring at her chest last episode). And I cannot wait until SexyOctavian makes it back to Rome so that we can have somemore inappropriate Juliicest happening.

I'm totally biting my nails for Octavia to finally have her first scene with nu!Octavian. I'm actually quite tempted to make a picturespam for O/O on ship_manifesto because it's free month (cough, you wouldn't be interested in maybe doing a nice little Krista/Chase picturespam or something like it? *misses my dead little show*). But of course that would mean that I would have to decide between roughly a ton of potential ships I'd love to do something on (cough like some Paul/Chani for example; wish I had a quality copy of the miniseries so I could do Leto/Ghanima). Or one of the femslash couples from Miss Marple I just discovered (BTW, is there Miss Marple universe femslash? I want it!)

I'm loving me some Daniel/Alexis. Their big confrontation in front of the press was hilarious. I think the crux about all the 'cest pairings is that I just flooooove them. I mean I like the shippy aspect, I like the dark creepy aspect, but I usually really love the Gen aspect too. Like I would just as easily read a fic where Dexter/Deb or Daniel/Alexis sit down together and talk about their issues, even if it doesn't have a 'cesty ending. *sigh* I love me my couples.

I remember noticing your Meadecest fic. I've been meaning to read it, but couldn't quite get around it yet. *marks it*

I'm so curious whether Rome will actually do the Octavia/Anthony marriage. Because, vow, if anybody is going to blow up their family household again that's going to be it big time. Though I have to say that my O/O shippy heart has been rather happy with all the letters being sent and all the "he trust you/if anybody could have changed his mind it would have been you" stuff. *sighs*

I couldn't agree more. I can't even really put into words why I love the 'cest pairing so much, there's just something complex and compelling about them that I dig. They're fascinating character studies, and you get all sorts of differnent and intense emotional happenings, and inappropriate stuff is just hot.

I've been wondering about that too. With the way they're playing the Agrippa thing I'm wondering if they're going to have Octavia given to him instead of Antony. I think it would kill Octavian to see his sister with his best friend though so I don't know. But I too loved the soft tone of voice he used when mentioning the letter to Octavia, and that he's been certain to write to her. Plus, I just loved the way Simon Woods delivered "I just have the one sister, Agrippa". Sexy, sexy man.

I couldn't agree more. I can't even really put into words why I love the 'cest pairing so much, there's just something complex and compelling about them that I dig.

I think it's the sign of pretty much any awesome ship if the relationship they have is just so intensely complex and captivating that even the most simple stuff about them can feel like fannish porn even if there is no sex in it. And most couples that give the incesty usually have that in spades, simply because they have a lifelong connection, full of power issues, family ties and childhood traumas. It's usually the whole definition of the cesty couples that they must have gone through some effed up stuff together and just got tied together more closely because of it.

Sends double and triple curses to SpikeTV. I get all sad when I go to TWOP and they occasionally have the Mercury commercial banner with Jill/Krista. Whaaaaa! That woman is sooooo beautiful and awesome. It's a crime that that is the only place you can see her anymore.

Errr, ship_manifesto is a community where you can write a short essay to declare your love for a pairing. Usually you have a certain formart, short description of the show, short description of the characters, a bit of the history of the couple, maybe with some evidence and then some fandom links. Currently they have free month where you can post pretty much anything for your couple, no particular format required.

Personally I love going there when I love to wallow in nostalgia over couples I used to love. Batman/Wonder Woman, Kira/Dukat Mulder/Krycek, various Trek ones.... ah, the memories! There are some gross oversights though. No Xena for example!

Love. (and he was totally staring at her boobs. In fact staring at Alexis's rack was like a motif that episode starting with Betty and ending with Daniel ... it was like cyclical!)

Betty staring at Alexis' boobs was definitely noted and laughed about by me :D
