Gossip Girl - 1x18 - Much "I Do" About Nothing

*cries*  I don't want it to be over.  I can't wait until fall.  I needs my Gossip Girl.  I needs it.  My precious.

Serena trying to attack Georgina at Dan's.  Hot.  And you know Georgina was totally turned on by it.  Her fake scared looked was priceless.  Her eyes totally said, "come and get me, you naughty girl".

Lily and Rufus' morning after was surprisingly lacking in the awkward.  This is why I love them.

Blair and Chuck's morning after plotting evil into the wee hours was comedy gold.  They play off each other so well.

Blair: Anything that require you to remove your scarf.  (LOL)
Chuck: It was one time, and it was chilly. (LOLx2)

Blair: They say if you hate something, you should shut the door in it's face. (OH BLAIR!)

Dan is an idiot, but he's not a complete idiot since he called Blair to help him plot.  Seriously, if I got to have Blair as my minion I would never stop plotting.  Ever.  I would plot trips to the grocery store.  Anything for the love of Blair.

Blair's handling of the Georgina situation was masterful.  It still makes me giggle to think about Georgina selling her prize show horse for coke, lol.  Also, Trachtenberg really worked the reveal scene.  For the first time, Georgina kind of resembled a teenage girl.  Plus her, "It was in UTAH!  I lasted longer than Lohan," cracked me the hell me.  Georgina totally wants Serena to be the Samantha Ronson to her Lindsay Lohan.

Stiill, as usual, Meester stole the show.  I was just smiling like mad after that scene.  Damn, Leighton's good.  She makes smug!bitch so attractive.

Wow, the Captain's a douchebag.

I'm glad that Chuck and Nate made up.  They're cute together.  Nate is the only person Chuck is not afraid to love.

Chuck's best man speech was awesome.  As was the way Blair was looking at him throughout the whole thing.

Thank fucking god, that Serena and Dan broke up.  They are absolutely painful to watch.  Fuck, I hate them together.  I didn't even realize how much that relationship made me hate Dan, until I liked him in the scene with Blair and then later on in his scenes with Vanessa.  I was like, "huh, what?  Dan ... being funny and charming ... and .... likable?  Wha ... whaa... is this episode 2?"

Serena's declaration that she thought it would be better to let Dan think she had slept with two random guys then tell him the truth, and his responding "WTF IZ WRONG WIZ U?" look cracked me up though.  Damn, Serena's pretty but she isn't that bright.  It was especially hilarious on the heels of Dan's, "You lied to me!  I cannoooooooooooot forgiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive the liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiies," speech.

Serena's right, it's better for both of them, and for the viewers that they stay the fuck away from each other!

Jenny interning at Eleanor Waldorf designs?  HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!  That's gonna be fun.  I kind of hate the idea because it means that Jenny is going to get screen time again.  But I kind of love the idea because I've missed Eleanor, and the more Waldorf women I get the better.

Waldsen sighting!  Loved Serena and Blair's little chat in the sitting room.  But the going away scene was the best.   Even though Blair spent the whole thing talking about doing Chuck, Serena still managed to find a way to touch her intimately.  I mean there was NO NEED (other than to make me squee) for the way Serena cradled Blair's head in her hands.  *sigh*  They have so much chemistry together, and they make each other happy.  Damn you 'the world today' for keeping the gay love away from us.  LET IT SPEAK IT"S NAME.

I don't care if she's an heiress.  Lydia Hearst is weird looking, and DOES NOT HOLD A CANDLE TO BLAIR!  *shakes head at Chuck Bass*  I mean, I was worried he was getting a bit too schmoopy, but my heart aches for Blair's inevitable heartbreak.  Then again, we got another "I'm Chuck Bass" and I loved it.

Glad to see Blair hand on her feet.  Although, a grown ass man should not be flirting with her illegal ass (no matter how fine it is).  Still, softened the blow of the "Chuck is still a horny dog" reveal.

I liked Serena and Nate hanging out at the end (just please, please, please, do not try to make them into a couple!  Friends going to Starbuck's and gallivanting around New York is fine, is great even.  Just do not try to hook them up again.  I've been liking Nate the last couple of episodes and that would make me loath him again.

In conclusion ... [anime-esque explosion of emotion] OMG I MISS U SO MUCH ALREADY GG, COME BACK 2 ME SOON!  *cries*[/aee]

I am so glad that you pointed out a Waldsen moment and gave me reason to watch later. From what I was reading on other sites it was a Waldsen free finale and I just could not bear that.

I am thrilled to know Dan and Serena will break up. God, I have hated Dan since episode 3. Judgemental asshat. He doesn't deserve Serena...only Blair does.

I can't wait to see Blair deal with Georgie either though I am guessing that if MT comes back next season it won't just be Serena she has her sites set on. She will be wanting to hurt Blair as much as possible while she is trying to get back into Serena's smokin' pants.

Blair's handling of the Georgina situation was masterful.

Didn't you hear? I'm the crazy bitch around here.

I'm glad that Chuck and Nate made up. They're cute together. Nate is the only person Chuck is not afraid to love.

I know! So cute! When Nate was like "so. you love blair?" *squee*

I didn't even realize how much that relationship made me hate Dan, until I liked him in the scene with Blair and then later on in his scenes with Vanessa. I was like, "huh, what? Dan ... being funny and charming ... and .... likable? Wha ... whaa... is this episode 2?"

I know! I so wanted V to be like "Dan, you dumb ass! I'm IN FUCKING LOVE WITH YOU! GET OVER SERENA BECAUSE SHE AND BLAIR ARE TLF!"

Loved Serena and Blair's little chat in the sitting room.

I have to say, this ep killed me on the Waldsen. For weeks now, I've been saying that Waldsen is their generation's Rufus/Lily. So in love but unable to be together because it's "not right". And then tonight when Blair was like "Do you think this will be us in 20 years?" So was code for "In 20 years, which one of us is going to be marrying the wrong person because we can't admit how much we love each other?"

But while on the topic, R/L killed me this ep with the I love you's and then Bart admitting he knows about R/L <3. And Serena/Dan broke up so they can be together now! *squee* Of course, they won't be.

DOES NOT HOLD A CANDLE TO BLAIR! Chuck, bb, I love you but wtf is wrong with you? Blair > all. Speaking of, random!guy is so not right for Blair. Not pretty enough like Chuck or Serena.

I liked Serena and Nate hanging out at the end (just please, please, please, do not try to make them into a couple!

I dunno how I feel about this. They were uber cute at the end and I think I could stand to see them together if it wasn't bringing drama-rama to the Waldsen. Which, at this point, I don't think it would because C/N finally forgave each other for all the sleeping around so I'm thinking Blair might be okay with S/N.

I agree with the plea for GG to return already!

OMG I LOVE BLAIR! On that note, GAH, I can't believe the season's over! *cries*

Every scene that Blair was in = SPECTACULAR AWESOMENESS!

And lol, when Dan said the he was "one of the most understanding people in the world," I literally yelled at the TV, "No, Dan, you're a DOUCHE!" It's true, though, I like him so much more whenever he's not around Serena.

I totally agree with everything you said there!

And I am SO worried that they're going to try to pair Nate and Serena again. NO! DON'T DO IT, WRITERS! DON'T DO IT!

Anyways...is it time for Season 2 yet??

Blair's handling of the Georgina situation was masterful.

Honestly? The season could have ended right there and I would have died of squee! Blair, she of the Best Boyfriend EVER title, showed Dan how to have a girlfriend's back, yo! Blair didn't just smack a bitch down, she put her out of commission for the entire summer!! Georgina was already counting the lines coke she'd be snorting off Serena's ass and here comes Blair with the 'Mommy/Daddy/Guess Who's Going to Rehab Because I Totally Picked The Spot' combination throwdown.

Heh, and I love that Georgina sold her pony for some coke.

Nate is the only person Chuck is not afraid to love.

Plus, Nate totally had his hair styled to look like Chuck's for the wedding!

Thank fucking god, that Serena and Dan broke up.

Seriously!! I was hoping Dan would get hit by his Dad's tour bus or something. I know the two are beardingdating in real life but, JeeBus, are they one chemistry-less couple. Worse, Dan sucks the life out of Serena. And I was soo fucking tired of her always apologizing to *him*!!

*sigh* They have so much chemistry together, and they make each other happy.

And in the deleted scene, totally made out for hours before Blair had to leave for France. There was no way Serena let Blair leave for Europe without a going-away present. And by 'going away present', I totally mean 'hot girl-on-girl lovin'!

I was slightly disappointed in the finale, just for the lack of Waldsen saturation that we had been spoiled with lately. But it was quality not quantity, so that makes it ok.

Bleighton are coming through more and more, especially in these scenes that have come after the months long strike hiatus. Is it just me, or is it getting more and more overt that they can't keep their hands off one another? Like the face cupping would NEVER have been in the script. Though I'm still cranky they cut out the hug that we saw in the upfront presentation last week. But the eye!sex made up for it I guess.

That sitting room scene was interesting because we had a still for that a while back, and as soon as I saw it I thought Bleighton not Waldsen. And given the way the scene aired, I think I was right. But Blair seemed rather bashful when she first walked in, almost like a semi-awkward but totally adorable morning/afternoon after hot sex kind of bashful. It was tres cute, and probably totally unintentional lol

Ding dong the douche is gone! I absolutely LOATHE Dan/Serena. And while their relationship seems to make the majority hate Dan, it does something else for me, since I hate Dan to begin with. It makes me annoyed by Serena. She's too weak and too needy with Dan. Willing to overlook him cheating, and just being downright dopey with him. It's rather infuriating.

The N/S has me a little concerned, because I'm not sure I entirely trust Schwartz to not pit the best friends against one another. All I'm saying right now is that they best get Blair up to that Hamptons house somehow and now by walking in on NS sex.

OH NOEZ!! I took some cold medicine and ended up sleeping right the hell through the season finale!!! **headdesk** I love reading your review though while I wait for sidereel to work its magic ;>)

Stiill, as usual, Meester stole the show. I was just smiling like mad after that scene. Damn, Leighton's good. She makes smug!bitch so attractive.

And hopefully the show's writers will learn from the ample examples of this that Blair-centrism is ALWAYS the best policy when planning episodes.

I'm glad that Chuck and Nate made up. They're cute together.

So Chuck ended up reconciling with his boyfriend and left Blair in the dust? I usually say the more homo-love the better, but aww, Blair! *hugs* ;.; (unless her homo-love with Serena can be made real ;)

Thank fucking god, that Serena and Dan broke up.

They did!?! Awesome! God they're so boring. I mean I'm honestly not that invested in most of the hetero--er, ANY of the relationships, but that goes triple for those two.

I've been liking Nate the last couple of episodes and that would make me loath him again.

I've been hating Nate ever since he branded Blair the Whore of Babylon for doing THE EXACT THING he did to her. But then again she would've had to have been still officially with him AND on a date for it to have been the same thing... but I digress. Sorry about that. *shrugs* Maybe he'll grow on me next season.

All in all you have me looking forward to seeing it, lady.

Is it ok if I (not so secretly) worship you? Because I wouldn't be watching Gossip Girl without your commentry. It's like half of the show.

I'm surprised that so many loathe Dan, he's like the gay guy's (if I was one) dream. Deliciously morally stuck-up. I love him, even with all his faults. Also, don't remember which ep, but he had quite strong subtext with Chuck. It was the phone call where he asked about Serena's whereabouts. Opposites attract and Chuck/Dan really fits that pattern.

There haven't been so many scenes with those guys together. The screen would melt of too much hotness?

Of course there's the tiny detail that Chuck tried to rape Dan's little sister (ouch). But IMHO that's the only thing keeping them apart.

For supposedly being infatuated/in love with Serena for so long, Dan is very nonchalant about them breaking up, that's for sure. Perhaps he is just so gay and hasn't yet noticed. It seems to me more like he's been in love with the idea of being in love, not Serena.

Am I totally crazy? Because most of the time I won't see subtext unless it hits me in the face with a sledgehammer.

Fabulous recap! The comment about Dan claiming to be the most understanding guy in the world cracked me up. That's a pretty accurate (and hilarious) depiction of judgmental people, though - they really do believe they are paragons of tolerance and understanding. Dan is just a total narcissist and he makes me sad. Nothing is ever good enough for him. Plus I'm glad I'm not the only one who is amazed at the complete lack of chemistry between Serena and Dan. It's the same with Blake and Penn: I have never seen a supposedly RL couple with so little spark between them. What's up with that? *cough* *beard* :o)

I'm SO DAMN HAPPY that Serena/Dan is over. For now at least. I wonder if this have to do something with the fact that the actors are dating on RL. Because that was one of the things I was complaining about...but anyway...If that means no more Serena/Dan I'm happy. I can avoid the pics hehehe. And also this mean more Rufus/Lily!!!!!!
But at the same...I don't know...I don't like NAte/Blair at-all but after the whole Vanessa thing Nate kind of grown on me and I wouldn't mind that much if we get some Nate/Serena. But still I'm unsure about it.

And for last I just want to say Long live Queen B!

this sucks. So apparently there are no plans to bring G back:((( I'm so annoyed right now. Georgina was great and a great way to gay up the show:D I still had hopes she might kiss S, or heck..even B:p
