I'm gonna live forever! I'm gonna learn how to fly--high!
Saw FAME last night.
I want to lick Kherington Payne all over. Seriously, her dancing makes me feel tingly in my special place.
Secondly, the kids were great, but the parts (that didn't involve Kherington Payne dancing her way into my pants) that were the best for me were every time Bebe Neuwirth and Megan Mullally were on screen. Oh, experienced actors, how your talent and MILF-ishness make me squeal in delight. Megan singing gave me shivers.
The movie did also have some really good song and dance numbers. The first group number in the cafeteria, Denise practicing in the auditorium, and the carnival dance sequence to Santogold were in particular fabulous.
I thought it was a really enjoyable movie, and the acting (from the kids, since we all know Kelsey Grammer, Charles S. Dutton, Debbie Allen, Bebe Neuwirth and Megan Mullally kick ass) was much better than in your typical 'teen dance movie'.
I'm downloading the original FAME now!
MEGAN FOX ON SNL!
I thought Megan did a really good job, when they gave her something to do besides stand around and look pretty. The show it'self was a bit of a mixed bag, as SNL has been for years and years and years. Some of the skits were just bizarre and hardly had a laugh in them, and others were pretty good.
My favorite of the skits was Megan's first skit with Kristen Wiig as flight attendants was pretty funny. I thought Megan did a good job in it, and she looked surprisingly good as a blonde. I also thought that like Angelina Jolie she couldn't pull off being blonde, but surprisingly it worked. This skit actually gave Megan quite a bit to do, and she pulled it off well. She and Kristen Wiig really worked well together in this one.
I also thought that Megan was good in the Biker Chicks skit, but it was just too bad that that skit overall (or at the first least Jenny Slate) sucked to high heaven. Kristen Wiig was really good again in this (as she was in everything I saw her in last night. The Travel Expert Jenny skit on Weekend update really impressed the hell out of me), and Megan nailed it as well in that skit, but I think that everything will be overshadowed by Slate dropping the f-bomb (and just generally sucking in the skit).
Three songs U2? Really? Really???

Overall, Megan did a good job, it was just too bad that much of the show was pretty such a piece of junk.
MERLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so I know there was like virtually no Morgana in this episode...

The horror.
But surprisingly I wasn't too disappointed by the lack of Her Ladyship Chesty McBoobs Alot because I have honestly and truly become an Arwen shipper, and was drinking up the Arthur/Gwen interactions in this episode.
Arthur is such an insufferable little twat most of the time, but I adored him trying to impress Gwen. Also, if I ever had to get dressed down by someone I'd want Gwen to do it. She can yell at you, and then still look at you like you are the most precious person on the planet ... which is just brilliant.

Um, yes please!
Arthur/Gwen scenes confuse me in the best way because I don't know who I want to make-out/snuggle with more! My Bradley crush is epic, but I swear my crushing on Angel is rapidly catching up. Since Brangel probably isn't happening IRL despite my hopes and dreams, Arwen needs to sustain me!
I do wish that Arthur would be a bit nicer to Merlin though. I mean, I did giggle at "I don't know, strap it on your back", but Merlin deserves some sweetness as well.
Random:
I don't know what's going on, but it seems like 2009-2010 is the year of het-ships for me.
First, Arthur/Gwen, and now Elena/Stefan from Vampire Diaries, which I am embarrassed to report I am actually really getting into.
That brings my all time total of het-ships up to three! OMG, what's happening here!?!?!?!?!?
Also, after a dream I had last night, I now find Drew Barrymore really, really ridiculously sexy ... which has never happened before. I now want her and Ellen Page to be doing it IRL even more now! Seriously, they are both cute as buttons and they appeal to my older woman/youngerfetish love so much - and yes, I know Drew isn't really old, but she's 12 years older than Ellen which is enough!

I watched the first episode of Vampire Diaries, and even my still existing crush on Ian Somerhalder could not make me watch a second episode. and I am easy, I still watch Smallville.

The first episode of Vampire Diaries was bad. The second was marginally better. And the third was good. I think the writers are starting to get a feel for things now, and that the quality of the show will increase. I almost didn't bother watching again after the 1st episode, but watching the third one, I was like, "Oh, this is actually kind of enjoyable now".
I'd say check out the third episode, especially if you like Somerhalder. I found him to be Cheesy McCheese the first episode, but Damon is now one of the best things about the show for me.

I like the Vampire Diaries but something about it still feels off. Not enough to make me stop watching but it's only been a couple episodes.
I'm just gonna wait for your SNL report. I haven't watched in *years*.
And, DUDE, have you watched Dollhouse yet!?! No, seriously.. HAVE YOU!?!

I know! I've never had an experience watching a show where I wouldn't have minded any of them hooking up with any of the others. Honestly, I'm probably going to continue only reading/writing Gwen/Morgana, but I totally enjoy watching all of the pairings on screen.
I love how Arthur calls Gwen 'Guinevere'.
Me too. It's more than a little swoon worthy.
But it looks like they're gonna make up for it next week.
Mmm. Those previews looked delicious. Although Morgana's powers developing so swiftly is making me worry about how much longer the OT4 is going to be an OT4.

It's up now in this post. Basically Megan did a good job in the skits where she was given something to do (though mostly they just used her as a good looking prop). Kristen Wiig is amazing. But overall the show felt lazy, which is awful for a season premier.
And, DUDE, have you watched Dollhouse yet!?! No, seriously.. HAVE YOU!?!
I watched it. But I've got to watch it again. I was super sleepy when I watched it the first time (which is sad because I watched it live at 9pm!), so I've got to watch it again, but I understand the use of caplocks.
The parts that I was completely focused on were everything that had to do with Claire, and they were AMAZING! And then that shit with Echo remembering all of her other personalities was blowing my mind as well.
What did you think of it?
no subject
Oh man, I'm still processing it all and totally need to watch it again!!
First off, I want Boyd back as Echo's handler. Ballard kinda sucks and is kinda creepy (which I think is intentional but still..). Aside from Echo getting confused as to which imprint she was supposed to be and the explanation that she remembers all her imprints, the majority of that storyline was kinda boring. But the Claire stuff...
OMG!! I totally had *no* idea Amy Acker was leaving the show! And I'm honestly surprised Whedon managed not to kill her off for the sake of being 'shocking'. I loved her stalking Topher.
I have a very hard time sympathizing with Topher but I'm still not sure if we were 'supposed' to sympathize with him. He *is* Dr. Frankenstein and even when faced with the horrors of his own creation, he still marvels at his own genius.
Then there's the part about Claire being complete mind-fucked because she knows she's a Doll and it's wrong but she doesn't want to die.
Finally, there's the part that made my Claire/Echo shipper heart go all pitter-patter with Echo having a memory of Whiskey and Echo about to make-out WHILE CLAIRE HAS HER FINGERS INSIDE ECHO!! Seriously, that's some fucked up shit.. in a good (twisted) way!
If there's one dark spot, it's the scene where Sierra's playing a racist socialite. Like, this show has enough sketchy race and gender issues for Whedon *not* to be making meta jokes about it.
In the end, I'm torn. Like, I didn't realize how *much* Whiskey/Claire made the show for me. And now that the character's gone, there's a part of me that feels like not watching anymore. On the other hand, SUMMER GLAU'S COMING!! But, it also makes me wonder, with Acker gone, if they'll let Dushku do some of that 'heavy lifting' other characters were doing.
Um.. wow, that was *way* longer than I intended for it to be!

Well, it looks like we'll be getting plenty of her next week!
Though they are compensating nicely by upping the amount of Gwen (in new cleavage boasting dresses).
This. I''m crushing on Angel hardcore right now, so I'm digging Gwen being a super hottie this year.
(Are they really calling it "Arwen"?)
I have seen people referring to it as that. Trust me, I use that one voluntarily, lol.
It helps that they're both ridiculously good looking.
Word. My shallow viewing self is completely satisfied every time they are on screen together.

painfullyachingly sexy. Seriously. No pun intended.Did you watch her on So You Think You Can Dance? My pantaloons were in a perpetual state of excitement.

About Arthur and Merlin. Arthur being snappish to Merlin is just him trying to suppress and hide his homosexual feelings :D obviously... If he's any nicer to him he might as well kiss him on the mouth. I just love the dynamic.
Yeah sure, not everything is gay, I just have fun shipping them that way.

I saw Megan on SNL and I thought she did pretty well with what they gave her. My friend disputed this saying she pretty much played the same character, i.e. an incarnation of a point on the slut spectrum. Dirty Biker slut, check. Russian mail order slut, check. Phone sex slut, check.
I see his point, but I still thought she did a good job. I saw Jennifers Body last weekend and thought the same thing, she did pretty well. Or maybe for me I had the bar so low in what I expected from her performance that her doing anything beyond forming sentances equaled a homerun in my book.
My favorite part of the movie was right after Jennifer tells the 'this is how I became a fleshing eating demon' story and Needy kicks her out of her house. You can see this look of dejection on Jennifers face right after she say 'we can play boyfriend/girlfriend like we used to' It was subtle and felt authentic. You can just tell how much Jennifer wanted/needed for Needy to let her stay. Props to Megan for being able to convey that.
That scene also signaled to me that Jennifer was more into Needy than Needy was into her. I also thought that after Jennifer only showed in interest in Colin after Needy said she thought he was cool. Jennifer's face was all 'oh really, you think he's cool...okay, well I'm going to eat him. Let's see how cool he is then." LOL.

I'd argue this is what happens whenever SNL has a female guest on who's public image is that of 'sex symbol', which is the skits turn into the juvenile wish-fulfillment fantasies of the writers. I still shudder when I think of the time Sharon Stone hosted. So not really MF's fault but more the failure of a lack of imagination by the writers. Because they've been doing this shit for *years*.
