Can you even confess a Mord-Sith? Isn't the whole point of them that they can reflect magic or something? (not that Kahlan confessing Cara isn't awesome and straight out of a fic)

From what I understand, in the books Mord'Sith can't be confessed. Because the nature of a Confessors power is love and the nature of a Mord'Sith's power is hate, the Confessor's power would kill a Mord'Sith.

The show must be operating under a different set of rules though, because Kahlan moved to confess Cara once to get info. already, and Cara wouldn't offer to be confessed as penance if it was going to kill her.

So, I guess the show must just be taking a line that a Confessors power, is something a Mord'Sith can't steal/use against them, though why that would be I have no idea.

Well, it seems like the Confessor's always come out on top in these deals so I don't think Kahlan would be hurt/in danger one way or the other.

But, if Cara didn't fight/resist Kahlan's power and willingly allowed herself to be confessed then maybe that would be enough for the process not to kill her.

I think the show must be ignoring the 'Confessor's powers kill Mord'Sith' part of book canon though, because otherwise Kahlan wanting to confess Cara to get info out of her in the season premiere would make no sense since the process would kill Cara before she could give them any info.

This is it exactly! All of that wrathful energy while she looks so angelic is just super hot! I also love it when Kahlan confesses people on the show and looks all goddess-like and badass. Mm, Kahlan!

I love Tabrett Bethell! She can communicate so much with just her eyes! The girls got skillz!

This! She's really good. Even when she's not the focus of a scene she's amazing. And she really can convey so much while seemingly doing very little. I'm super impressed by her. When she locks the American accent down it really will be a flawless performance (though, I have to say I kind of like the few Aussie syllables that slip out).

I would love this show so much if it went there. They better go somewhere with Cara/F at some point. And while I'm not sure about Kahlan/Cara on screen because of the Tuw Luv that is Richard/Kahlan, I totally hope that they have Cara at least try to put the moves on Kahlan at some point (possibly while they're bathing ... because you know a joint bath scene HAS to be coming up!)

this may be a weird association; but i think the relationship between Cara & Kahlan can almost be illustrated by one of my favorite scenes from Mel Brook's: Dead and Loving It movie. the guy who plays Renfield is being "assaulted" by Dracula's hot female minions. for a few moments he tries to resists but he finally gives in.



we can only hope/imagine the same conclusion for Cara & Kahlan.

I don't think Cara's actually going to be confessed. There'd be no point having her on the show if she was just going to be Kahlan's slave. I think either Kahlan will start to and then not because she wants Cara to live with what she's done instead of giving her an easy way out, or Richard will bust in and talk Kahlan into realizing that confessing Cara is wrong and that the toughest thing for Cara will be to live with what she's done.

However, I can't wait to see Cara in something else than her Mord'Sith, uh, uniform!

As a closeted Xena nut (I have all six seasons on dvd set PLUS the 10th anniversary collection and that's just what I'm willing to admit to having) I must step in and right a terrible wrong.

Richard is not "poor" Gabrielle and Cara is not Callisto.

Cara is a newly turned Xena just stepping out on newborn legs to learn how to be a good person and Kahlan is series end kick-ass Gabrielle. Which I find a highly interested dichotomy. Richard, at this stage, is Joxer's son, Virgil. I could give you a page long essay explaining the similiarities, but I don't wish to embarrass myself further.
