Sarah Connor Chronicles - 1x08 & 1x09

Thoughts on the final two episodes for this season because I refuse to believe there won't be a second one

Vick's Chip

- Sarah removing gun parts from the drawer before she was able to get at her oven mitts was priceless.  As was Cameron's "The roast should have been removed from the oven 18 minutes ago" as she stands by doing absolutely nothing.  I guess those "how to be a useless teenager lessons" she's getting from John are working (since he was sitting by doing absolutely nothing as well).  That's totally something I would have done as a kid though (and did may times), yelling for my mom as I sat smelling dinner burn.

-  I was glad about Sarah not threatening to disassemble Cameron after finding out about her keeping the chip.  I totally understand why Cameron didn't share the information with Sarah considering the mood Sarah was in when Cameron would have had to bring it up to her.  And rather than being extremely worried about Cameron being able to lie, I think it's actually a good thing that she admitted she's capable of it.

I also really liked John's "Well I could say that about you" after Derek was all 'we have no idea what's going on in her head'

Sarah: Have fun at school ... it's pizza day.  (smug pause) I read the newsletter.
Cameron: (confused) Isn't pizza day tomorrow?
John: Yeah. (affection smile)
Oh Thomas, you made me totally love John with that.  He knows she tries!

-  I love that Cameron is still describing everything as being "tight".  You know she's totally just decided that "tight" is tight and is gonna use it until someone tells her to stop.

- Eric Carlson totally thought that Cromartie was going to touch him inappropriately.

Sarah:  You've been doing that for twenty minutes now ... with my toothbrush. *Derek hands it to her and she pointedly throws it away*  I got you one.  Now it's mine.
LOL, oh Sarah.

- The blank looks Summer is able to get on her face amaze me.

Cameron:  I don't understand your need to find her.
Sarah: That's because you don't value human life.
Cameron:  But she's not life, she's just a body ...  bones and meat.
(Sarah pauses and looks at her with a disturbed expression)
Cameron:   Was that the wrong thing to say?

- I loved Sarah's story about when she was a waitress and the woman with the eggs who constantly emotionally scarred her children.  Also, on a purely shallow note, Lena looks good in black ... and smiling.

FunnyGuy:  Cameron Baum?  Happy Pizza Day
Cameron:  Thank you.  I had two slices.  Do I look fat? (looks down at herself)
God, it makes me sad that that is what she's picked up about teenage girls, but it's so true.

- I loved how turned on FunnyGuy was by Cameron's icy stare.  Also, I totally would have reacted the same way as Morris if Cameron came up to me and said "I need you" before physically dragging me off.  Which is to say I would have gone with her with a big smile on my face.

- Cameron's plan to trick Cromartie was awesome.  So simple and effective.  Also, on a shallow note I really loved the outfit Cameron was wearing in that scene.  It actually looked very Serena van der Woodsen, especially the dress under the purple jacket.

- Okay, writers.  I get it.  John and Cameron are totally going to end up doing it.  *sigh*  You can stop beating me over the head with it now.  The only thing that got me through the "she liked it when he touched her lips" scene, was imaging Cameron testing that move out on Sarah later on.  *sobs*  I miss Cameron's little chats with Sarah.  The second and third episodes really were the golden age for Camerah.

Also, who thinks that Sarah was  wondering if John painted Cameron's nails for her since he's such a fuckin' champion? (lol, mocking those Thomas Dekker pictures will NEVER get old)

- The scene with John removing Cameron's chip was freaky.  I loved the parting shot of Sarah sitting on the bed by Cameron's body watching over her though.  I also liked that they were wearing matching colours, like they planned it in the morning or something.

What He Beheld

- Silent!HotGirl returns!  And continues to obviously have a crush on Cameron (that might be returned since Cameron didn't ...heh, terminate her, heh heh)  Seriously, I LOVE that this chick still hasn't uttered a word.  There's definitely something up with her, I hope we see her next season.

- There's no way the kid that played Young Kyle is gonna grow up as pretty as Jonathon Jackson.

- Yay!  The return on Chick Duo of hotness!  The bit with Cameron explaining that she learned Armenian and Sarah just looking at her like "why are you so weird?" was great.  Sarah looking at Cameron like she's a talking pancake never gets old.

Derek:  Remind me again, why are the boys out here and the girl's in there?
John:  Because one of the boys is still wanted for murder, and one of the girls is harder than nuclear nails.
Derek: And the other one's a cyborg
John:  Heh.
OMG, Derek made a funny!

- I want to live in a world where getting 500, 000 dollars is no biggie.  Seriously, Sarah's all "Not, yet" like Cameron can said "Have you bought orange juice yet?"

- Cameron at the museum was pure win.  That smile she gave her teacher before turning around and becoming stone faced again, was simultaneously hilarious and freaky as hell.  You know that teacher pees his pants whenever he has to talk to her.

Morris: Is this your car?
Cameron: No, it belongs to the guy I killed and stuffed in the truck.

I really hope there's a Cameron goes to Prom with Morris episode, because that right there will be comedy gold.  Gold!

- I really wish that Sarah had been the one to take the shot.  I think they've effective established Derek as being badass, and I know it's an emotional situation, but I'd like to see Sarah be a wee bit harder.  She'd been seeming kind of passive, and her taking the shot would have been nice.  I mean, if Molly Weasely can bitch up, it should be a cake walk for Sarah Connor.

I totally had a flashback to Kill Bill during that scene as well.  I half expect Derek to say to the little girl: "It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'. When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I'll be waiting. "

Also, what was up with FakeBigBad's "Not my kid" line.  Was he Big Bad's special friend?  Did they used to hug each other with their legs ... in friendship?

- I liked John and Derek in the park, and that Derek already knew.  Thomas Dekker is doing some great things with John.  BAG also continues to impress as Derek.

I'm glad that the writers didn't make Sarah forget about his birthday.  I was really pissed off with the suggestion that Derek was a better parent or something before that last scene with John and Sarah.  I love the John/Sarah relationship.

- I loved the scene with FBI agents driving to Lazlo's place and then the showdown with them falling into the pool.  It was pure cinematography porn, but from the opening strings of Johnny Cash's "When The Man Comes Around" I was in love.  I really liked Charlie's horror when he rushed in on the scene as well.  Seeing the totally devastation that can be wrought by just one terminator.  "...the boy weeps for the end of innocence, and the darkness of men's hearts" (I love Sarah's voice-overs so much)

- I'm curious as to why Cromartie let Ellison go.  I mean, there's a part of me that says Ellison didn't have his gun drawn and had closed his eyes and didn't present an immediate threat to him so he left him be, but at the same time I wonder if there's more to it than that.

- Cameron is not dead.  I sure hope she put those bags of flesh from Vick on ice though, because I'm thinking cosmetic surgery will be a must after this.

Question:  Was Cameron wearing Sarah's belt at the end?  I remember noticing the sparkly belt on Lena in the internet cafe scene, and I swear it's the same one that Summer was wearing as she walked to the Jeep.    Yep, that's it ... they're totally doing it.  In fact, I'm convinced that Sarah convinced Cameron to get the cake by promising to let her try the lip thing on her later after John has gone to bed!

Anyway, I think that's quite enough rambling from me.

This show better be back.  That's all I have to say about that.

[identity profile] sinandmisery.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
ahhhh yay your recap is up! LOL I think one of my fave things about watching the show is your recaps afterwards.

Lord, there was so much to write about for these two eps, but so much of it was gold. I still refuse to believe Cameron/John. IT JUST.DOESN'T.WORK.

Cameron's total stone face reply about the dead guy in the trunk had me laughing.

And Sarah watching Cam as she laid motionless on the bed. *sigh*

AND OMG THE END! Not only Cam blowing up and the fact that it so could have been Sarah, but Sarah's "I sent Cameron to get a cake" was such a "Dad ran out to get milk" thing. I was like oh domestic bliss! then Cam go boom.

And pretty much everything else you said is win.

I cannot wait for season 2 to start.

[identity profile] sinandmisery.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Oh and the belt Cam had on had more studs than Sarah's. That's not the first time they've had totally similar clothes though and you know they SO have to share clothes because really, none of them have jobs. How would they buy the 3 of them that much clothing?

[identity profile] fembuck.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Oh and the belt Cam had on had more studs than Sarah's.

LA LA LA LA Can't hear you LA LA LA LA

you know they SO have to share clothes because really, none of them have jobs.

I know! Where do they get all of their money from? Oh, wait, maybe they've been selling the diamonds they got from Derek's safe house.

Still they all have mighty impressive outfits. Other than Cameron's strange arm gloves, they're always wearing something new.

[identity profile] sinandmisery.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
I know! Where do they get all of their money from?

I have two theories on this:
1) They shoplift and/or rob places.
2) Sarah uses her feminine wiles to get stuff for free.

Of course it could just be a combo of both. Either way, if this is how, I totally want to see it on my TV. And with number two, who wouldn't just give Sarah anything she asks for? I mean, aside from the fact that she could totally kick my ass, she's got a [Cam-speak] tight [/Cam-speak] body, so it wouldn't take much convincing to get something for free from me.

[identity profile] fembuck.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
LOL I think one of my fave things about watching the show is your recaps afterwards.

Aw, I'm glad my insanely long ramblings aren't in vain. You know I was like "i'm just gonna write down a few quick thoughts" but it became a MONSTERRRRRRR.

I still refuse to believe Cameron/John. IT JUST.DOESN'T.WORK.

I know. It's so awkward ... and uninteresting. I like the brother/sister dynamic between them, but the romantic stuff makes me cringe. I'm just going to have to ignore a lot of that. Camerah is so much hotter ... and more interesting.

Cameron's total stone face reply about the dead guy in the trunk had me laughing.

Oh, I know. I love that Morris was all like "you're sister is twisted" about it. I totally thought she was just "fooling" him, but then I was like "nah, this is Cameron". She cracks me up (and I can laugh about it cause he was a bad guy)

And Sarah watching Cam as she laid motionless on the bed. *sigh*

I know. So dreamy. (you know, other than Cameron's brain being missing, lol)

Sarah's "I sent Cameron to get a cake" was such a "Dad ran out to get milk" thing.

It totally was. I loved that. I was like "Sarah has her wrapped around her pinky like whoa". Such a great "John has two mommies" vibe ruined by explosives!

I cannot wait for season 2 to start.

So true. It cannot come fast enough.

I like reading your rambling because it hits all the points I was thinking about but was too lazy to write down, so thanks. You make me want to respond to everything you write but I'll save you by not.

I seriously hope that every future Pizza Day has Cameron wearing that purple jacket. Maybe it could be her Official Pizza Day outfit because it totally doesn't make her look fat.

Also, who thinks that Sarah was wondering if John painted Cameron's nails for her since he's such a fuckin' champion?

Raises hand. Those pictures are forever embedded in my mind which makes it especially hard for me to watch the show and not giggle every time John comes on. I think I even lol'ed when John was teary-eyed watching Sarah give up parental rights. I'm such a bad, bad person.

I was disheartened by the lack of kick ass Cameron in What He Beheld. Half the time I kept thinking, "What's Cameron doing?", especially in the Derek stone cold killa scene. Like, where did she run off too? She was lost for a long time. I guess the wink, the smile to the teacher, the fat comment, and "YES!" to the prom made up for it sort of. Oh wait, this was the episode that Cameron was blown up, right? Nevermind. This episode stunk, lol. I'm looking forward to a Frankenstein Cameron sewn together with Vick's old skin.

I, too, am curious about why Cromartie let Ellison go. There's a part of me that just thinks the gun down/eyes closed theory but then there's another part of me that thinks there totally has to be more going on with Ellison. That's also the part of me that thinks that we might've seen the witness to murder little girl as a big girl in the future already so... There needs to be a second season so I don't drive myself insane.

Unfortunately, I don't think they're the same sparkly belts but I'll just imagine they are.

Oh, and I totally didn't respond back to your comment about Jovovich. If Michelle Rodriguez can't get her name right then I have no hope in humanity because I secretly think they had a menagerie (without Jamie, sorry the Real World reference is automatically embedded in my brain).

I like reading your rambling because it hits all the points I was thinking about but was too lazy to write down, so thanks.

I'm glad that my long-ass ramblings serve some purpose. The scary thing is that I was all "I'm just gonna write down a few quick thoughts" and it turned into this. *sigh*

I seriously hope that every future Pizza Day has Cameron wearing that purple jacket. Maybe it could be her Official Pizza Day outfit because it totally doesn't make her look fat.

LOL! I know. That outfit was tight. Seriously, Glam!Cam is hot. I really dug that look, and the jacket is awesome.

Those pictures are forever embedded in my mind which makes it especially hard for me to watch the show and not giggle every time John comes on. I think I even lol'ed when John was teary-eyed watching Sarah give up parental rights. I'm such a bad, bad person.

LOL! No, every once in while I just have to giggle when I look at him. I think I could see his lip gloss in a few scenes last night and I lost it laughing (more than a little bit because it was at the side of his mouth and looked like someone had Spiderman'd him and he missed a spot during clean up)

Half the time I kept thinking, "What's Cameron doing?", especially in the Derek stone cold killa scene.

I know. The show is moving dangerously close to 'too much Derek' territory. I have to give credit to BAG for making me like Derek at all since I know he's taking away from quality Sarah and Cameron screen time. Still, the writers better watch themselves. Derek is moving towards Gary Stu territory and I'm not down with that shit.

I'm looking forward to a Frankenstein Cameron sewn together with Vick's old skin.

lol. That could be comedy gold. As long as it's only for an episode or so, because I like looking at Summer, and Cameron in school scenes are priceless.

That's also the part of me that thinks that we might've seen the witness to murder little girl as a big girl in the future already so... There needs to be a second season so I don't drive myself insane.

Seriously? Which episode? *dances anxiously* Which scene? I will go back and rewatch it.

and I totally didn't respond back to your comment about Jovovich. If Michelle Rodriguez can't get her name right then I have no hope in humanity

I know. I mean, they made a movie together! *sigh* I love the RE commentary. It's like one of the greatest things ever. I'm very upset that Milla is not on the commentary for Extinction, so much so that I haven't bought it yet.

because I secretly think they had a menagerie

LOL. Also, I think you're totally right? Who was the third in this menagerie though? The German chick? She was hot in a "Oh hai, I kind of look like Jeri Ryan, but am not Jeri Ryan" sort of way.

[identity profile] kben.livejournal.com 2008-04-03 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I love the RE commentary. It's like one of the greatest things ever. I'm very upset that Milla is not on the commentary for Extinction, so much so that I haven't bought it yet.

That commentary is, like, in my top three favorites of all time. The one for RE:A is pretty great, too, when Milla is like, "And now I'm going to eat this sandwich."

I held out for a while before buying RE:E because of the lack of Milla commentary, too! But then I was like, "Must own Claire/Alice hotness."

Also, to be on topic with the Sarah Connorcles (as a friend of mine has dubbed them), I think Ellison is somehow key to Judgement Day, and this is why he was not Terminated.

[identity profile] trancer21.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
I was glad about Sarah not threatening to disassemble Cameron after finding out about her keeping the chip.

I think what pissed me off about that whole situation, especially regarding Derek, is that he invades Cameron's room, takes something that doesn't belong to him, continues to insinuate that she's a danger, and the moment they discover that, you know, Cameron was *right*.. Derek turns it into all about him. Like, dude, robot or not, somebody owes *somebody* an apology. His lack of boundaries is.. disturbing, to say the least.

Iirc, it's something John brought up - whether they 'trust' Cameron is irrelevant. Future!John sent Cameron back. Which means he trusts her. If they can't trust Cameron, then they can't trust John. And John has no use for that kinda bullshit.

The scene with John removing Cameron's chip was freaky.

*small voice* I totally got misty-eyed during that scene. Whether or not it's her programming, or she actually has a soul, Cameron totally trusts John.

Silent!HotGirl returns! And continues to obviously have a crush on Cameron

Ha! And now, Cameron has *two* dates to the Prom!

You know that teacher pees his pants whenever he has to talk to her.

I think the entire *school* is slowly learning you don't fuck with John's little sister!

I really wish that Sarah had been the one to take the shot. I think they've effective established Derek as being badass, and I know it's an emotional situation, but I'd like to see Sarah be a wee bit harder.

Yeah, and I call bullshit on the whole 'Sarah's never killed a human'. You mean to tell me in the 16 years Sarah's been protecting John, that the women who trained with goddamned Sandinistas for cripe's sake has never plugged a hole in some meat and bones?

And while I'm enjoying Derek's role, I do think they're skating across the line where he's more necessary than needed. The show's named after Sarah Connor, not Derek Reese!

I loved the scene with FBI agents driving to Lazlo's place and then the showdown with them falling into the pool.

What I loved about that is it was an imaginative way for TPTB to get around shooting an expensive action sequence. And it totally worked.

And if Cameron dies before Derek does? Well, I'll still keep watching because Lena Headey can work the black, but I'll totally sulk while doing it!

[identity profile] fembuck.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Like, dude, robot or not, somebody owes *somebody* an apology. His lack of boundaries is.. disturbing, to say the least.

Oh, I know. Derek can be a little to smug for me at times, and the kitchen scene exemplified that. Not to mention the use of Sarah's toothbrush. It's like "Dude, I don't care if you're from the future and your life sucked, that's just not done!" And then he had the nerve to get pissy when he opened up the shower curtain. It's like you're the King of Invading People's Privacy, so take you medicine douche!

Iirc, it's something John brought up - whether they 'trust' Cameron is irrelevant. Future!John sent Cameron back. Which means he trusts her. If they can't trust Cameron, then they can't trust John. And John has no use for that kinda bullshit.

So true. I really liked when John brought that up. It's like Derek, you are not the boss or his Dad. They don't have to listen to you man, they did just fine without you. In fact they saved your sorry ass, so just shut up and respect!

*small voice* I totally got misty-eyed during that scene. Whether or not it's her programming, or she actually has a soul, Cameron totally trusts John.

I really liked that scene. It did weird me out though, especially when we saw her shut down. The complete trust she has in John is very touching though (I just don't want them to become special friends)

I think the entire *school* is slowly learning you don't fuck with John's little sister!

LOL, so true. I also think that half the school is learning fear can give you a boner too. Happy Pizza Day dudes reaction to her was priceless.

Ha! And now, Cameron has *two* dates to the Prom!

You know that Silent!HotGirl will kick Morris's ass. You don't mess with a chola's girl unless you wanna get fucked with something hard and sandpaper-y.

Yeah, and I call bullshit on the whole 'Sarah's never killed a human'. You mean to tell me in the 16 years Sarah's been protecting John, that the women who trained with goddamned Sandinistas for cripe's sake has never plugged a hole in some meat and bones?

So true. It's like I get that Sarah can't be as intense as she was in T2, but I think they're making her a bit too soft. It's like she knows what the score is, and she's the one that suppose be willing to do what she's got to do. John, is supposed to hold her back, she's not supposed to be too wussy to even propose it.

I do think they're skating across the line where he's more necessary than needed. The show's named after Sarah Connor, not Derek Reese!

Word. He's very close to becoming a Gary Stu for me. This show is not about how awesome Derek is, it's about how awesome Sarah (and John and Cameron are). Right now, BAG's acting (and yes, I'm complimenting BAG's acting) is the only thing that's keeping me from beginning a "KILL DEREK" campaign. The grace period is almost over though. They better tune Derek down a bit next season, or I'll be calling for blood.

What I loved about that is it was an imaginative way for TPTB to get around shooting an expensive action sequence. And it totally worked.

It worked so well. I loved that scene so much. And it really was creative.

And if Cameron dies before Derek does? Well, I'll still keep watching because Lena Headey can work the black, but I'll totally sulk while doing it!

LOL, I know. I know ;)

[identity profile] mysensitiveside.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
So many great moments in this episode! Though I totally agree that there wasn't enough of Sarah and Cameron being badass. I mean, there was so much bonding...John and Derek, John and Cameron, John and Sarah (ok, so apparently it's just that John got some bonding time with everyone), but what we really needed was more Sarah/Cameron bonding!

The bit with Cameron explaining that she learned Armenian and Sarah just looking at her like "why are you so weird?" was great. Sarah looking at Cameron like she's a talking pancake never gets old.

Lol, seriously! That scene cracked me up.

And I loved pretty much every bit of dialog that you quoted. Good stuff.

Also, on a shallow note I really loved the outfit Cameron was wearing in that scene. It actually looked very Serena van der Woodsen, especially the dress under the purple jacket.

OMG can you imagine if the Connors moved to NYC and Cameron met Serena and Blair?? I think that Serena would want to be friends with Cam, and then Blair would get all possessive, and it would result in an intense staring match between Blair and Cameron!

Did they used to hug each other with their legs ... in friendship?

LOL! Yay for Ellen Page!

And yes, I think that Lena should wear black all the time. She looked damn good (as always)!

If there isn't a second season, I will cry. There has to be a second season! Right? *knocks on wood*

[identity profile] fembuck.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, there was so much bonding...John and Derek, John and Cameron, John and Sarah (ok, so apparently it's just that John got some bonding time with everyone), but what we really needed was more Sarah/Cameron bonding!

Yeah, I liked the bonding, I just missed that there was no Sarah/Cameron bonding ... well, other than Sarah thinking that knowing Armenian is the way to charm the pants off of someone and the off-screen scene where she convinced Cameron to go buy cake (although that probably didn't take much):
Sarah: Go buy some cake.
Cameron: Cake?
Sarah: It's a celebratory pastry. Go get one.
Cameron: Why?
Sarah: For John's birthday. People eat cake on their birthdays.
Cameron: Thank you for explaining.
*grabs the keys*

I think that Serena would want to be friends with Cam, and then Blair would get all possessive, and it would result in an intense staring match between Blair and Cameron!

Aw, now I want a crossover. Serena would totally find Cameron amusing, and watching Blair try to intimidate Cameron, while Cameron stares at her blankly and Blair gets frustrated would be hilarious.

And yes, I think that Lena should wear black all the time.

But she also looks good in other colours! I say, I least one black outfit an episode, and then they can surprise us with colours for the other things Sarah wears during the ep.

[identity profile] mysensitiveside.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
But she also looks good in other colours!

Lol, yes, this is true. I believe it's physically impossible for Lena to not look amazing! So I take back my request for Lena in black all the time. ;)

I'm a bit torn when it comes to Derek. I mean, I was one of those kids who grew up watching him on 90210 (as embarrassing as it is to admit to it). So I am all kinds of shocked by how impressive his performance has been. Yet, I still think Derek is only good in small doses. I know, when we get a season 2 I'd like to see more of him, just not a lot.

I've got a question, I'm not sure if they mentioned it or not, but how long has Derek and his team been in the past for? I know he told Sarah about how he and the gang went to the mall and pigged out and stuff. Makes me wonder what else they were doing. Were they all sharing the same toothbrush back in the safe house too? I understand that he's had it rough and it probably takes a long time to get assimilated after all they've been through, but he should know better. I just have issues when it comes to people using someone else's toothbrush, ick.

Anyways, enough about the other Reese. Are you as pleased as I am that the show ended up exceeding your expectations? I was just thinking about when the show first started,I told myself, 'no matter how bad it is, at least you'll have Lena Headey on your screen once a week.' And now the season is over and I want more and not just for the obvious reason. So kudos to everyone involved with the show!

[identity profile] fembuck.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I am all kinds of shocked by how impressive his performance has been. Yet, I still think Derek is only good in small doses.

Word. I've been really surprised, and pleasantly impressed by BAG. I think he's very good in this role. But Derek's role on the show needs to be limited. He should not be with the family full time. He should be off doing his own thing, and called in when they need extra help. If they keep him around I'm afraid that Sarah will keep being pushed into the background, and that not acceptable.

I fear that Derek might become to show what Spike became to BtVS in later seasons and the thought of it makes me shudder (apologies if you're a Spike fan, but after S5 I couldn't stand the character and cursed out loud when he ended up on Angel too).

BAG's doing a great job, and Derek is a good character so I hope they don't make me hate him by giving us too much of a good thing.

I've got a question, I'm not sure if they mentioned it or not, but how long has Derek and his team been in the past for? ... I understand that he's had it rough and it probably takes a long time to get assimilated after all they've been through, but he should know better.

lol. So true. I think they may have mentioned it, but I forgot. I don't think it's been long, maybe a couple of months, but that's certain enough time to go and buy some toothbrushes. I realize its supposed to tell us about Derek's hard knocked life, but it's just really gross and I'd like to think that even if machines were taking over the world that humanity would remain civilized enough not to share toothbrushes. I mean, if we fall that far, are we really worth saving?

Are you as pleased as I am that the show ended up exceeding your expectations? I was just thinking about when the show first started,I told myself, 'no matter how bad it is, at least you'll have Lena Headey on your screen once a week.' And now the season is over and I want more and not just for the obvious reason. So kudos to everyone involved with the show!

Word, I was expecting it to be bad. Especially since I wasn't blown away by the pilot. So, I was very happy to be wrong, and very happy that the show turned out to be so good. The last time I was this pleasantly surprised by a show was Blade the Series. This better turn out better than that in terms of being renewed though. I don't know what it is about American networks that makes them cancel things that are good while like King of Queens and Reba are on for 12 years. *head scratch*

[identity profile] crys-22.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry, you're preaching to the choir when it comes to Spike. I thought he was a great character when he was introduced as a baddie with his girl Dru, but it was all down hill after that. A part of me was always happy that Faith never became a regular on the show, because I was always afraid they would screw her up too.

So yeah, lets hope the second season isn't going to overdose on Derek. Now I wonder if this is how the Blade fans felt about Krista.

I mean, if we fall that far, are we really worth saving?

I know, right? lol. Between all the toothbrush jackers and double dippers of the world, well, it's like Sarah said, 'sometimes I swear I understand why they drop bombs on us.'

I don't know what it is about American networks that makes them cancel things that are good while like King of Queens and Reba are on for 12 years. *head scratch*

As an American, I wish I had the answer to that, but we can pretty wack when it comes to a lot of things. And I'm not talking about taking my favorite superheroes and making them into really nasty slangs. So I'm scratching my head along side you, my friend.

You know what I am afraid of? A new actress for Cameron. I was totally screaming at the TV when the car exploded (hysterically I might add). I mean there is no way Cameron is dead, cause, duh, awesome!kickass!terminator!hotness (ahem). BUT Cromartie got another face, and what if Summer wants out???!! I am panicking even as I write this!!!!

I have to agree though, this better be back, they cant leave it like this!
Ah what am I gonna do now that this show is done too?? What the heck will I watch?? Damn.

My thoughts exactly -- I was like -- why would you bother showing her getting blown up?? We KNOW she's not gunna die, she's a freaking terminator with a coltan endoskeleton -- but her face is going to be wrecked! Aaaaah. They better find an awesome plastic surgeon for her. I'm ... I won't stop watching .. but I might.

I'm not too worried about a new actress for Cameron. Summer is Cameron, they can't just replace her like they did Cromartie. Cameron (and thus Summer) are wildly popular, and Summer herself brings in a lot of love from former sci-fi fans from her Firefly days. She's a guaranteed convention pleaser. The producers would have to be the Idiot Kings of Stupidtown to get rid of her, and I don't think that these guys are stupid. I can't really see why Summer would possibly want out of a paying gig, and even if she did, she likely signed a two year contract at least, probably more, so she couldn't leave anyway.

I think we're just in for an SCC version of Humpty Dumpty where they have to try and patch her together again. And maybe risk exposure or something to take her to a plastic surgeon showing how she's a member of the team/family.

Ah what am I gonna do now that this show is done too?? What the heck will I watch?? Damn.

Oh, I know. This is the only thing that I've really been watching on television lately. I don't even want to imagine not having it to turn to on Monday nights. This show made me look forward to mondays! Mondays!

*screams* I MISSED IT!! I SO FUCKING MISSED IT!! I really hate myself sometimes. Me, myself and I? Yeah, we're old enemies.

...

CTV has full epsiodes on their site don't they? It's on Space now too, isn't it?

[identity profile] fembuck.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, CTV has been advertising that it has full episodes up on-line. I haven't heard about the Space thing, but I don't really pay attention to stuff so that doesn't mean anything. It seems like something they'd snap up.

Have you tried to get a torrent of it?

You must see them. It would be tragedy and woe if you didn't :(

All the gun bits and pieces in the drawer on top of the oven mitts cracked me up too. Plus Cameron, the most technologically advanced oven timer in the universe! Cam announcing the exact timings of things may never get old.

And Pizza Day! I heart Sarah and John so much. Those Dekker pics have scarred my mind though. When Cameron was all "Do I look fat?", I immediately thought oh, she learned that from John.

Throughout all the John/Cameron moments I was just chanting to myself brother/sister affection...brother/sister affection...through those scenes in an attempt to brainwash myself into believing that they won't go there! Seriously though, TSCC producers? Please leave that in fanfic where it belongs (see Buffy/Spike for reference as to things better left...well, where I can't see them).

I had a lump in my throat from John and Derek in the park. Well done show. Mind you, though I've been enjoying BAG's performance I very much agree with you that I'd prefer him to be dialled back a little next year. Let's see more of our title characters, and just have him guest star for a few episodes. The show isn't reaching Whedon levels of cast bloat yet, but still.

Oh, and Sarah has never killed anyone *eye rolls*? Are we going to have a Sarah-loses-her-blood-innocence episode now? Followed by her gestating a demon child, Cam going nuts and dragging her behind the jeep and a musical episode, natch.

Ehm, about Sarah not killing anybody... The guy left in a minefield doesn't count?
