Sarah Connor Chronicles - 1x08 & 1x09

Thoughts on the final two episodes for this season because I refuse to believe there won't be a second one

Vick's Chip

- Sarah removing gun parts from the drawer before she was able to get at her oven mitts was priceless.  As was Cameron's "The roast should have been removed from the oven 18 minutes ago" as she stands by doing absolutely nothing.  I guess those "how to be a useless teenager lessons" she's getting from John are working (since he was sitting by doing absolutely nothing as well).  That's totally something I would have done as a kid though (and did may times), yelling for my mom as I sat smelling dinner burn.

-  I was glad about Sarah not threatening to disassemble Cameron after finding out about her keeping the chip.  I totally understand why Cameron didn't share the information with Sarah considering the mood Sarah was in when Cameron would have had to bring it up to her.  And rather than being extremely worried about Cameron being able to lie, I think it's actually a good thing that she admitted she's capable of it.

I also really liked John's "Well I could say that about you" after Derek was all 'we have no idea what's going on in her head'

Sarah: Have fun at school ... it's pizza day.  (smug pause) I read the newsletter.
Cameron: (confused) Isn't pizza day tomorrow?
John: Yeah. (affection smile)
Oh Thomas, you made me totally love John with that.  He knows she tries!

-  I love that Cameron is still describing everything as being "tight".  You know she's totally just decided that "tight" is tight and is gonna use it until someone tells her to stop.

- Eric Carlson totally thought that Cromartie was going to touch him inappropriately.

Sarah:  You've been doing that for twenty minutes now ... with my toothbrush. *Derek hands it to her and she pointedly throws it away*  I got you one.  Now it's mine.
LOL, oh Sarah.

- The blank looks Summer is able to get on her face amaze me.

Cameron:  I don't understand your need to find her.
Sarah: That's because you don't value human life.
Cameron:  But she's not life, she's just a body ...  bones and meat.
(Sarah pauses and looks at her with a disturbed expression)
Cameron:   Was that the wrong thing to say?

- I loved Sarah's story about when she was a waitress and the woman with the eggs who constantly emotionally scarred her children.  Also, on a purely shallow note, Lena looks good in black ... and smiling.

FunnyGuy:  Cameron Baum?  Happy Pizza Day
Cameron:  Thank you.  I had two slices.  Do I look fat? (looks down at herself)
God, it makes me sad that that is what she's picked up about teenage girls, but it's so true.

- I loved how turned on FunnyGuy was by Cameron's icy stare.  Also, I totally would have reacted the same way as Morris if Cameron came up to me and said "I need you" before physically dragging me off.  Which is to say I would have gone with her with a big smile on my face.

- Cameron's plan to trick Cromartie was awesome.  So simple and effective.  Also, on a shallow note I really loved the outfit Cameron was wearing in that scene.  It actually looked very Serena van der Woodsen, especially the dress under the purple jacket.

- Okay, writers.  I get it.  John and Cameron are totally going to end up doing it.  *sigh*  You can stop beating me over the head with it now.  The only thing that got me through the "she liked it when he touched her lips" scene, was imaging Cameron testing that move out on Sarah later on.  *sobs*  I miss Cameron's little chats with Sarah.  The second and third episodes really were the golden age for Camerah.

Also, who thinks that Sarah was  wondering if John painted Cameron's nails for her since he's such a fuckin' champion? (lol, mocking those Thomas Dekker pictures will NEVER get old)

- The scene with John removing Cameron's chip was freaky.  I loved the parting shot of Sarah sitting on the bed by Cameron's body watching over her though.  I also liked that they were wearing matching colours, like they planned it in the morning or something.

What He Beheld

- Silent!HotGirl returns!  And continues to obviously have a crush on Cameron (that might be returned since Cameron didn't ...heh, terminate her, heh heh)  Seriously, I LOVE that this chick still hasn't uttered a word.  There's definitely something up with her, I hope we see her next season.

- There's no way the kid that played Young Kyle is gonna grow up as pretty as Jonathon Jackson.

- Yay!  The return on Chick Duo of hotness!  The bit with Cameron explaining that she learned Armenian and Sarah just looking at her like "why are you so weird?" was great.  Sarah looking at Cameron like she's a talking pancake never gets old.

Derek:  Remind me again, why are the boys out here and the girl's in there?
John:  Because one of the boys is still wanted for murder, and one of the girls is harder than nuclear nails.
Derek: And the other one's a cyborg
John:  Heh.
OMG, Derek made a funny!

- I want to live in a world where getting 500, 000 dollars is no biggie.  Seriously, Sarah's all "Not, yet" like Cameron can said "Have you bought orange juice yet?"

- Cameron at the museum was pure win.  That smile she gave her teacher before turning around and becoming stone faced again, was simultaneously hilarious and freaky as hell.  You know that teacher pees his pants whenever he has to talk to her.

Morris: Is this your car?
Cameron: No, it belongs to the guy I killed and stuffed in the truck.

I really hope there's a Cameron goes to Prom with Morris episode, because that right there will be comedy gold.  Gold!

- I really wish that Sarah had been the one to take the shot.  I think they've effective established Derek as being badass, and I know it's an emotional situation, but I'd like to see Sarah be a wee bit harder.  She'd been seeming kind of passive, and her taking the shot would have been nice.  I mean, if Molly Weasely can bitch up, it should be a cake walk for Sarah Connor.

I totally had a flashback to Kill Bill during that scene as well.  I half expect Derek to say to the little girl: "It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'. When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I'll be waiting. "

Also, what was up with FakeBigBad's "Not my kid" line.  Was he Big Bad's special friend?  Did they used to hug each other with their legs ... in friendship?

- I liked John and Derek in the park, and that Derek already knew.  Thomas Dekker is doing some great things with John.  BAG also continues to impress as Derek.

I'm glad that the writers didn't make Sarah forget about his birthday.  I was really pissed off with the suggestion that Derek was a better parent or something before that last scene with John and Sarah.  I love the John/Sarah relationship.

- I loved the scene with FBI agents driving to Lazlo's place and then the showdown with them falling into the pool.  It was pure cinematography porn, but from the opening strings of Johnny Cash's "When The Man Comes Around" I was in love.  I really liked Charlie's horror when he rushed in on the scene as well.  Seeing the totally devastation that can be wrought by just one terminator.  "...the boy weeps for the end of innocence, and the darkness of men's hearts" (I love Sarah's voice-overs so much)

- I'm curious as to why Cromartie let Ellison go.  I mean, there's a part of me that says Ellison didn't have his gun drawn and had closed his eyes and didn't present an immediate threat to him so he left him be, but at the same time I wonder if there's more to it than that.

- Cameron is not dead.  I sure hope she put those bags of flesh from Vick on ice though, because I'm thinking cosmetic surgery will be a must after this.

Question:  Was Cameron wearing Sarah's belt at the end?  I remember noticing the sparkly belt on Lena in the internet cafe scene, and I swear it's the same one that Summer was wearing as she walked to the Jeep.    Yep, that's it ... they're totally doing it.  In fact, I'm convinced that Sarah convinced Cameron to get the cake by promising to let her try the lip thing on her later after John has gone to bed!

Anyway, I think that's quite enough rambling from me.

This show better be back.  That's all I have to say about that.

I like reading your rambling because it hits all the points I was thinking about but was too lazy to write down, so thanks. You make me want to respond to everything you write but I'll save you by not.

I seriously hope that every future Pizza Day has Cameron wearing that purple jacket. Maybe it could be her Official Pizza Day outfit because it totally doesn't make her look fat.

Also, who thinks that Sarah was wondering if John painted Cameron's nails for her since he's such a fuckin' champion?

Raises hand. Those pictures are forever embedded in my mind which makes it especially hard for me to watch the show and not giggle every time John comes on. I think I even lol'ed when John was teary-eyed watching Sarah give up parental rights. I'm such a bad, bad person.

I was disheartened by the lack of kick ass Cameron in What He Beheld. Half the time I kept thinking, "What's Cameron doing?", especially in the Derek stone cold killa scene. Like, where did she run off too? She was lost for a long time. I guess the wink, the smile to the teacher, the fat comment, and "YES!" to the prom made up for it sort of. Oh wait, this was the episode that Cameron was blown up, right? Nevermind. This episode stunk, lol. I'm looking forward to a Frankenstein Cameron sewn together with Vick's old skin.

I, too, am curious about why Cromartie let Ellison go. There's a part of me that just thinks the gun down/eyes closed theory but then there's another part of me that thinks there totally has to be more going on with Ellison. That's also the part of me that thinks that we might've seen the witness to murder little girl as a big girl in the future already so... There needs to be a second season so I don't drive myself insane.

Unfortunately, I don't think they're the same sparkly belts but I'll just imagine they are.

Oh, and I totally didn't respond back to your comment about Jovovich. If Michelle Rodriguez can't get her name right then I have no hope in humanity because I secretly think they had a menagerie (without Jamie, sorry the Real World reference is automatically embedded in my brain).

I like reading your rambling because it hits all the points I was thinking about but was too lazy to write down, so thanks.

I'm glad that my long-ass ramblings serve some purpose. The scary thing is that I was all "I'm just gonna write down a few quick thoughts" and it turned into this. *sigh*

I seriously hope that every future Pizza Day has Cameron wearing that purple jacket. Maybe it could be her Official Pizza Day outfit because it totally doesn't make her look fat.

LOL! I know. That outfit was tight. Seriously, Glam!Cam is hot. I really dug that look, and the jacket is awesome.

LOL! No, every once in while I just have to giggle when I look at him. I think I could see his lip gloss in a few scenes last night and I lost it laughing (more than a little bit because it was at the side of his mouth and looked like someone had Spiderman'd him and he missed a spot during clean up)

Half the time I kept thinking, "What's Cameron doing?", especially in the Derek stone cold killa scene.

I know. The show is moving dangerously close to 'too much Derek' territory. I have to give credit to BAG for making me like Derek at all since I know he's taking away from quality Sarah and Cameron screen time. Still, the writers better watch themselves. Derek is moving towards Gary Stu territory and I'm not down with that shit.

I'm looking forward to a Frankenstein Cameron sewn together with Vick's old skin.

lol. That could be comedy gold. As long as it's only for an episode or so, because I like looking at Summer, and Cameron in school scenes are priceless.

That's also the part of me that thinks that we might've seen the witness to murder little girl as a big girl in the future already so... There needs to be a second season so I don't drive myself insane.

Seriously? Which episode? *dances anxiously* Which scene? I will go back and rewatch it.

and I totally didn't respond back to your comment about Jovovich. If Michelle Rodriguez can't get her name right then I have no hope in humanity

I know. I mean, they made a movie together! *sigh* I love the RE commentary. It's like one of the greatest things ever. I'm very upset that Milla is not on the commentary for Extinction, so much so that I haven't bought it yet.

because I secretly think they had a menagerie

LOL. Also, I think you're totally right? Who was the third in this menagerie though? The German chick? She was hot in a "Oh hai, I kind of look like Jeri Ryan, but am not Jeri Ryan" sort of way.

That commentary is, like, in my top three favorites of all time. The one for RE:A is pretty great, too, when Milla is like, "And now I'm going to eat this sandwich."

I held out for a while before buying RE:E because of the lack of Milla commentary, too! But then I was like, "Must own Claire/Alice hotness."

Also, to be on topic with the Sarah Connorcles (as a friend of mine has dubbed them), I think Ellison is somehow key to Judgement Day, and this is why he was not Terminated.
