You give me such a wettie ...
Jennifer's Body was totes worth the wait!
The movie is legit good. Aside from being a Megan Fox fan!girl, and being thrilled by the fact that Megan can act, the movie is just a blast!
And ... and .... and ... Megan Fox can act! I'm so proud of my, bb. She creeped me out (Holy fuck, who knew eating a chicken from the fridge could be so freaky!), made me laugh out loud (a lot), gave me a wettie, and managed to break my heart (depressed!Jennifer made me want to hug her with the same powerful intensity that sad!Ivy makes me want to hug her).
Megan stole the show for me. Amanda was awesome (as she always is), but the movie was the Megan Show for me. She was luminous on screen, she perfected bratty charm, and she fucking killed the one liners (even ones that probably shouldn't have really worked like the, 'Do you have a tampon?' bit). Every time Jennifer was on screen it was impossible to look away from her.
And now to talk about what everyone on my f-list is really interested in, lol. The Needy/Jennifer make-out scene is one of the hottest I can recall seeing. I don't know if it was how intimately the scene was framed with the close-ups on their lips, or if it was the way Needy collapsed on top of Jennifer so eagerly when she realized that she had been given an invitation or what, but that scene = JIMP. Like, major JIMP-age.
Needy/Jennifer is totally my new ship of pain. They were so beautiful together and so tragic. DAMN YOU ADAM BRODY! (AND YOUR AWESOME HAIR AND GUY-LINER).
I'm gonna stop talking now because anything else would just be random sounds of happiness. My love for this movie is still to fresh to really be coherent right now.

(is tempted to see it tomorrow morning)

I'm going to need to see it again, because I think that my mind was too busy freaking out at how awesome everything was to fully take it all in.
And that kiss was one of the hottest I've ever seen. I could watch it over and over again and never get bored.

It's worth the wait though. I'd avoid downloading any cam versions that might come out, and wait to see it on the big screen. Trust me, there are some shot that you want to see three stories high ;)

I really want to watch it but I doubt it'll be released in my country anytime soon...=(

I'd read a article with Amanada where she was talking about how awkward tongue kissing on screen was, and in the article there was a line that went, "Tongue wasn't an issue with Megan Fox". And now I know that's because there was NO way that they were able to avoid tongue kissing!
And there is definitely 'eagerness' on Needy's part.
I really want to watch it but I doubt it'll be released in my country anytime soon...=(
That's why the internet is a beautiful thing. A good version might not be released for a little while, but you will get to see this awesomeness. You will!

And it served to convince me that Jennifer and Needy made out like that many times before.

DUDE, I think they're mine too already, I'm sure the angst is through the roof.

The angst is out of control. Before the Jennifer is possessed by the demon, their relationship is so awesome and sweet. Not perfect, but there's a real bond between them that made me fall in love with them. OTP!!!!!

When you see it, it will totally be worth the wait though. Also, it was awesome hearing like the whole theater falling in love with Megan throughout the film.

I, too, am filled with fan-girlish pride at Megan's acting! The chicken scene was indeed creepy, but so well done! The one liners were nothing less than fantastical: "I'm gonna go play hello titty with the bartender." /snicker
I actually really enjoyed Amanda in this movie. I think she was the perfect contrast to Megan, in the roles they played.
And, of course, the kiss! I can't really say anything more about the kiss... I don't think my brain has fully processed it - its too much good to take in at once! I'm going to have to see the movie again, while it's still in theaters. Just gotta.
Ahh, good times. /continues to bask in after-movie glow

I know! So proud of my bb. Every time the audience erupted in laughter when she killed her delivery of a line, I was like, "Suck on that haters!"

Word. I'm totes going to see it again. No doubt about it.
Amanda was really good in this. She had a lot of laugh out loud moments as well as really great emotional moment to, and that run through the woods in her prom dress was one of the most amazing shots in the movie. I'm just used to Amanda being awesome, so haven't squeed about her as much ;) but she was fantasic.

It also makes me briefly consider seeking out and adopting a random dumb-fuck so I can invite them to parties and enjoy equal moments of Sheer WTF Gold in real life.
But, anyway.
All I have to say about Mama Mia is, thank jeebus I was drunk and that there was alcohol to sustain the drunkenness throughout the duration of the movie.
Yeah, I should probably look into what else she has to offer.

Gah, I can't wait!

That about sums it up!
I just don't even have words right now to describe how good, and fucking hot Megan was in this.

Frak yes, she can! I was like, "Whoa! Go Meggers!" Lol!
I'm quoting pretty much that entire paragraph because I completely agree with what you're sayin'. Megan said they filmed that scene, like, super-tight on camera, and she was totes right. And when Needy just went for it, collapsing on top of Jennifer? Yeah... JIMP. Haha!
But anyhoot... enough babbling and quoting. This comment is long enough as it is. I'm gonna go rock out to the JB soundtrack and squee some more. :)

I know, I was ridiculously proud of her. I feel so protective of her these days, that I was like "suck on that haters". When the crowd erupted in laughter when she nailed a line, I was like, "that's right! Now you can all see how awesome she is!".
And when Needy just went for it, collapsing on top of Jennifer? Yeah... JIMP
The beginning of the kiss was super hot, but it was Needy just going for it, just trying to get all up in there that made is SUPERNOVA HOT.

Also, I was *really* disappointed that Needy getting revenge against Low Shoulder was left as a credits sequence. I mean, seriously, those assholes (even though Adam Brody was awesome!) ruined a whole truckload of lives and I was really looking forward to watching Needy go all Freddy Krueger on their asses! And I'm totally fanwanking that Needy uses her newly found Demonic powers to resurrect Jennifer!
Anyway, of the good.. I was honestly surprised at how *GAY* this movie was.. and that's *before* Needy and Jennifer kissed. I loved those early scenes between Needy and Jennifer 'cuz Jennifer was crushing on Needy HARD!! And 'lil Needy and 'lil Jennifer were soo adorable!
As for the kiss, as mentioned above, I certainly wasn't expecting it to go on for as LONG as it did, let alone the part where Needy jumped all over Jennifer! I'm not sure but I think I forgot to *breathe* during that part.
Finally, like you said - Megan Fox can ACT. She certainly gave Jennifer more layers than, imo, was originally intended. I loved that it wasn't the blade that killed her but Needy removing the 'BFF' necklace. Awwww!
ETA: Was it my imagination or was the 'I'm not killing people, I'm killing boys' line cut from the movie?
no subject
I noticed that too, and was kind of disappointed
And I'm totally fanwanking that Needy uses her newly found Demonic powers to resurrect Jennifer!
OMG yes! demonic Needy + demonic Jennifer = amazingness

Like halfway through writing the screenplay, Diablo Cody read some feminist theory about competition between teenaged girls.
The only scene where that 'girls are nasty to each other' thing really bugged me was in abandoned community pool. The whole 'laxatives' exchange. Based on the situation and their relationship it seemed unnecessary. I don't think Needy would have been so quippy about killing Jennifer.
I thought that Cody actually didn't play up the girl-competition as much as she could have (and as much as I was afraid she would from the trailers).
And I'm totally fanwanking that Needy uses her newly found Demonic powers to resurrect Jennifer!
This! I think that will be my fanwank as well. I really wanted Jennifer to be okay at the end. Traumatized, but okay, and with Needy by her side to help her recover. Even possessed by a demon there was something really powerful about their relationship.
Anyway, of the good.. I was honestly surprised at how *GAY* this movie was.. and that's *before* Needy and Jennifer kissed.
Totally. I was really surprised and happy by that as well. When that asian chick commented on how lesbigay they were for each other and imitated Needy's wave I was cracking up, because I was just thinking the same thing. They BOTH seemed to have girl!crushes on each other which was so cute. I mean Jennifer I think resented Chip's presence in her relationship with Needy, as much as Chip resented Jennifer's. Also, that Jennifer said "play mommy and daddy like we used to," how easily Needy got into making out with Jennifer (she freaked but not because of kissing Jennifer, but because she was kissing the Jennifer!Demon), combined with the fact that Needy did not react to Chip like he was the first to enter the Pharroh's tomb has convinced me that these two were friends with benefits.
She certainly gave Jennifer more layers than, imo, was originally intended.
Definitely. She made Jennifer really sympathetic. When Jennifer died I wasn't cheering, I wasn't happy. I knew it had to happen but I was sad. Jennifer wasn't a bad girl, she was a little slutty, but she didn't deserve to die for that. And I think it's what Megan did with the character that really made Needy's victory bittersweet.
I loved that it wasn't the blade that killed her but Needy removing the 'BFF' necklace. Awwww!
I know. That part undid me, and has kind of made Jennifer/Needy an OTP for me. It was like it was only at that moment that Jennifer realized she had truly lost Needy, and that if she didn't have Needy there was no reason to fight/live.
Was it my imagination or was the 'I'm not killing people, I'm killing boys' line cut from the movie?
It got cut. I was waiting for it throughout the movie, and at the end I was like, "hey!".

You definitely want to see this on the big screen. It awesome and Megan and Amanda are amazing.
I'm a stalker. Like seriously
and by earlier I mean like a month or so ago
that's because it was about then when I discovered your _AMAZING_ journal.
and I was like: 'nah, I don't post on mine for years (and by years I mean months)' and always: 'oh she has enough comments, I'll be just another one (and then went listening to WELCOME TO MY LIFE, because that sounded emo way too much haha)
Anyway, I just couldn't push it any longer, because this is about JENNIFER'S BODY
and yes, you had others before
but nah, I'm fan girling about this for months and months and was SO EXCITED that the movie went out that the first thought I had was: I NEED TO KNOW HOW IT WAS.
So I even tweet this. You can check it on: http://twitter.com/annechonps
It goes along like this:
'JENNIFER'S BODY ESTÁ NOS TRENDING TOPICS ♥ hoje é a estréia, -s.' (it means: Jennifer's Body is on Trending Topics ♥ tonight is the premiere, -y (for yes haha)
'Primeira coisa que eu falo no dia: Mããe :( Se eu morasse nos Estados Unidos hoje... Mãe: você ia ver a estréia daquele negócio... Eu: J'SB!' (the first thing I say in the day: MOOM :( If I lived in the United States today... Mom: you'd see that thing... Me: JENNIFER'S BODY!)
' Aproveitando uma indireta: quem quiser comprar a trilha sonora pra mim de aniversário.. hehe :B ' (Talking about it: if anyone wants to buy the soundtrack for my birthday, hehe :B)
' fikdik do dia: you can go sayin that Megan Fox is a bitch as much as you want, I'll still _LOVE_ her sense of humor. "Fuck'em"' (type of the day: well.. you get the rest)
and today: 'A-HÁ! Eu sabia que Fembuck ♥ não ia me decepcionar. Eu já suspeitava, fuckin awesome. Preciso da @kahluchesi que me entende em fangirlismo' ( Ahá! I knew that Fembuck ♥ wouldn't let me down. As I suspected, fucking awesome. I need @kahluchesi who undestands me on fan-girling'
AND THIS COMMENT IS GETTING WAY TOO BIG.
anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for all your amazing posts. Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, BITCH SLAP (omg that interview is AMAZING), Olivia Wilde, etc, etc. You've got the best taste evah.
-promises that will keep on comment so the next comments won't need to be this big-.
ps: how are you feeling knowing you had a stalker?
Re: I'm a stalker. Like seriously

No worries! It's nice to hear from you now :D Welcome, welcome!

Yeah, I've been looking forward to this one since it was announced so it's been a long wait. Luckily it was worth the wait, and the movie (and Megan) rocked. I'm glad my rambling review was able to help!

Well thank you! You have excellent taste as well :D

SPOILER ALERT - those who haven't seen it should not read this comment
I thought it was poignant, because it proves that Needy is someone Jennifer needs perhaps more than the other way around. All of the boys in school need something from Jennifer (see the graphic novel that goes with the movie) while Needy just wants her friend. For all of Jennifer's conquests, it seems like Needy is Jen's only friend - true friend at least. Even Needy hangs out with more than one person. She's got Chip and Colin. After each murder, it seems as if Jen is seeking out Needy's approval, comfort, or plain ol' reaction. In fact, she chooses two of her victims based on Needy's opinion of them. Lime green jello, much?
Related to the above, I thought it was interesting that Jennifer had rules for Needy when they went out (specifically re: clothes). Needy accepting those rules makes them okay in Jennifer's book. If Needy were to accept Jen after she's killed, it might make the killings okay.
As for the kiss scene, I liked it because it doesn't feel like a scene directed by a man for other men. (It's also some damn good tongue acting - those people look like they kiss hella good). There is something profoundly forbidding (yet beautiful) about their relationship. The kiss doesn't feel wrong as much as it feels slightly frightening - and not because Jen is possessed by a demon either. It proves how powerfully they hold each other, and Diablo's right - that's a very high school feeling. Needy following Jen onto the bed doesn't seem wrong either. I mean, she's just seen Jen bloodied on the roof of her car, and now Jen is in her bed, totally fine, gorgeous, and seeking out her home away from home.
The insults at the pool didn't seem wrong to me. Needy does feel strongly for Chip, and I also think she's trying to convince herself that Jennifer is no longer Jennifer so that she can feel less guilty about what she has to do. Not sure if Needy realizes that lying about Jen's virginity made things go downhill (Jen didn't help later on), but if she did.. she might feel even more awful.
Loved loved loved the necklace being pulled away and Jen losing herself long enough for Needy to take care of business. Heartbreaking.
Love the soundtrack more than life itself - Through the Trees is hysterical and awesome.
The entire van scene was the most frightening, I thought. The part leading up to it and the flashback later. I totally bought Megan-as-Jen going into shock after the fire. In fact, her performance makes it all the more jarring that she doesn't seem to care at all the next day at school. Even Jennifer had a heart.
I thought everyone performed well, and I am happy that I'm able to recommend the movie to people without just saying I'm a Diablo/Megan fangirl. Loved Diablo popping up in the movie looking awesome. Too bad it did shit at the box office. I have profound love for @chelsealately pimping the movie both on her show and via twitter.
cross out pocabomba.. i'm done talking.
