Why can't it be summer all the time?

Ugh. I'm back to work now. Which means busy and tired. My two months of leisure got me into HORRIBLE sleeping patterns, and I am now suffering because of it.

Classes are going well so far, though it's really hard to gauge what the kids are going to be like based on the first day. They are always so polite and quiet on the first day. Hopefully they'll stay that way once they get used to me! I'm pretty sure the grade nines will remain absolutely precious, and that makes me happy.

Juno scribe Diablo Cody opens up to The Frisky about her new horror flick called Jennifer’s Body, out September 18. Here’s what the 31-year-old writer said:

On the “lesbian kiss” between Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried in the film: “All right, if the two protagonists of the film were a guy and a girl and in a particularly tense moment, they shared a kiss, no one would say it was gratuitous. But the fact that they’re women means it’s some kind of stunt. It was intended to be something profound and meaningful to me and to Karyn [Kusama, the director]. Obviously we knew people were going to totally sensationalize it.”

If it's not profound and meaningful, Diablo Cody better watch her back! If you're gonna be a stunt kiss in fine, but you better own up to it being a stunt kiss or I'mma gon' cut you! If however, it it profound and meaningful I might forgive Diablo for Juno.

Yeah, High School Freshman. Not all of them are precious (believe me I had some very, very NOT precious grade nine's last year), but I was lucky and got a crop of sweet ones.

It's been years and thinking about grade 7 still makes me shudder inside. Why you would want to teach such a fucked up group of children is beyond me :P

I started subbing at the high school level two years ago. Great money but boy oh boy ... I has some horror stories.

I remember a few instances where subs actually left crying. As far as I can tell, you're paid to babysit the class while they try their best not to actually do any work :P

I was lucky enough to get a few awesome teachers through high school. But the thought that I might have been reading my teacher's fic is... I don't know, awesome?. It'd be a bit weird, but my enthusiasm would quickly override the awkward. Couldn't you have been my teacher in high school? D:

English and history.

Maybe it's just American public schools, but when I hear "English" all I think is "meh." I learned more about English from fic than from all of my English teachers combined. I'm betting you do a better job, though.

What kind of history? History here (in non-AP classes, at least) means American history. Again and again and again and again and again. Hopefully what you teach is more varied and interesting.

WH13 sure is some brainless, healthy fun. There are bits and pieces in the writing that keep surprising and impressing me and keeping the show fresh. It doesn't hurt that there are some nice looking women either.

This. I'm liking it more and more the longer it's on. This week I felt like it was really, really good. Like the writers are getting a feel for what elements of the show work well (the buddy moments between Myka and Pete and Claudia, sometimes with Leena thrown in), the wacky comedy, and then some intrigue with Arty: The Serious!

It doesn't hurt that there are some nice looking women either.

The wait really is becoming unbearable!

Towards the end of last night's episode, I definitely found myself thinking that Claudia and Myca would be a viable fic pairing because they are so much cuter together than either of them would be with anyone else...

I just finished watching the episode, and I really loved the Myka/Claudia interactions. That last scene really made me see the potential to ship them as well. They were just so adorable in their awkward eagerness to bond.

I really liking this show more and more the longer its on. This weeks slap stick comedy really worked for me. I thought the whole episode was hilarious.

I really didn't like the show to begin with and it's gradually won its way into my heart, partly because of those two. That scene was - like you say - adorable and puppyish; if I were not caught up in my own writing, I would have found a new fandom to write for...

The magazine shoot is probably publicity for the movie. I think those two are probably the most 'commercial' names in the movie, so they'll probably be doing the most promotion.

I'd love it if the kiss was a hint of what's to come in the movie, but I doubt it.

Megan Fox reminds me a LOT of Katherine Heigl (who I also love). In that, she's not playing the Hollywood 'game', she's not presenting herself as the girl next door or your potential best bud. And I think a lot of the hate comes from her not 'confining' herself to an image of what a starlet, let alone a woman, should be. I'd say Olivia Wilde falls into the same category but isn't as pilloried as either Fox or Heigl, although there are segments of the House fandom that hate Wilde for no other reason than being female.

Which is all my way of saying I love her more and more everyday.. to an almost frightening degree. And I honestly don't blame her for not wanting to do nude scenes. I can only imagine how much crazier the drooling fanboys would get should she ever drop trou.

I know! I am not at all appreciating the lack of Leena! I really like the Leena character, and the shallower viewer in me likes looking at the actress playing her as well. Leena works really well with the the team and with Arty. She needs to be on screen more!

Cracks is by Sheila Kohler, the format is quite interesting, but I think it makes the story a bit eerier tbh. I picked it up as soon as a knew Eva Green was playing Miss G in the film, her character is a swimmer! Can't complain about the visuals in my head considering that.

You're right about Megan, the more "outrageous" she is, the more I love her for being herself/different.
