This response is probably gonna be way longer than you expected or wanted but ...
PS: what do you think of January Jones as Emma Frost? And who do you think would make a perfect Emma?
Not a fan of the casting to be honest. JJ just doesn't seem fierce enough to play Emma. I don't find anything about her forceful, intimidating, seductive or sophisticated.
My ideal actress for Emma has fluctuated over time, and the choices I liked best were obscure and never going to happen. For instance, once Legend of the Seeker came into my life, Jessica Marais (http://www.whatsonxiamen.com/news_images/5943_Bardot%20girl%20...%20Jessica%20Marais..jpg) (aka Denna) was pretty much my ideal for a 20s Emma. And for a while Chandra West (http://images.fandango.com/r84.6.4/ImageRenderer/200/295/images/performer_no_image_large.jpg/0/images/masterrepository/performer%20images/p75597/chandrawest-johnfromcincinnati.jpg) had been my ideal choice for a 30s Emma.
This one is beyond unlikely into almost cracky territory, but while watching "Bloomington" I couldn't help but think that Catherine Stark was very Emma-ish, and therefore that Allison McAtee (http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_le1t7hSHTT1qeg24bo1_500.png) would make a great Emma Frost.
As for Emma's that might have actually happened, I really liked the idea of Rosamund Pike (http://www.lahiguera.net/cinemania/actores/rosamund_pike/fotos/5897/rosamund_pike.jpg) as Emma (she was my number one 'realistic' choice), and I even came to grow to like the idea of Alice Eve (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KTJWhtuRLac/SWI82JujRMI/AAAAAAAAHE8/LrSd22m7EEg/s400/alice_eve_pic2.jpg) as Emma when it was announced that she was attached to the role.
Obviously, I'll have to deal with JJ in the role, but nothing about her (other than being blonde) strikes me as very Emma-ish.
Rambling ahead ... beware!
