I *know*. Then it sorta fell apart with the Scooby-Doo esque recap near the end. Like WTF?

So incredibly amateur. It's like, 'Producers, this is PKJ not Shakespeare. You're show isn't that smart, we can follow what's happening. In fact we usually know what's happening five minutes into the episode.'.

I liked that it was an episode *about* Jane, with Jane being proactive and not acting stupid, even if she was a little defeatist. I was surprised at how much McBride's spiel affected her when they haven't given us that much of a reason to believe she regards his opinions so highly.

So true. JANE is the heart of the show and should be the focus of it. And Kristanna is, at least with the material we've seen so far, the best actor on the show or least one of the only one's with any presence and charisma so just let her be the frakking lead!

I totally hate how they always have Jane caring so much about McBride's opinion. It's like if they wanted him to be a defacto father figure or something, they first needed to actually show us that Jane has a crappy relationship with her father (and no, the 'he took me to the movies and fed me ice-cream' crap from the second episode doesn't count), and then they needed to set up some reason for Jane to view McBride as such. I can't really think of how because I hate McBride and I don't like that idea, but if it's what they were going for they completely screwed it up.

I'm not saying I want Jane and Mo making out in an alleyway or something (although that would totally rock) but don't make a point of telling and showing me how close of friends they are then *not* have them be physically affectionate with each other when Jane's giving out hugs like they're candy.

That's the thing. The lack of physcial affection is so GLARINGLY obvious. It's painfully obvious that they're trying to avoid any suggestion that Jane and Mo could be more than just friends, but they're drawing even MORE attention to it by writing them this way. Not to mention that it makes the main character seem like an an ice-cold asshat that she treats someone she's known for years like a piece of shit.

And I don't even get why they're so afraid of subtext. It's like girls kissing never hurt a show. In fact most shows TRY to inject subtext in there. And really, people can slash ANYTHING! I mean, god help me but PKJ could stand to take a page out of Birds of Prey's book, cause they shoved Barbara and Helena's het love interests down our throats, but they still managed to portray them as friends who cared about and respected each other.

I finally figured out why I dislike Riley, especially after seeing Drunk!Riley - he reminds me of that druggie from 'Dirt'. You know, the one hanging out with Garbo and bogarting in on the sex with Julia. Like, dude, go home and take a bath. Or, you know, just go away!

OMG! You're so right. He's "That" guy. I hate "That" guy.

In fact, I gotta say I was totally worried when Jane was waking up all groggy with that beeping that kind of sounded like an alarm clock that they were going to have a 'morning after' scenario with Jane and Riley, which would have SCARRED ME.
