i was like "aw damn j...why'd you do that j?...no j, no..." intermittently while reading it...the beginning is so nicely paced and airy and playful and the that gradual turn until you get to the very last section of part one and it's just...it feels like getting punched in the chest and all the air rushes out and you can't breathe...like drowning on dry land...
but yeah...i'm definitely swabbing the deck on the "ship of pain"...but i need to take the dingy of early time happy out for a row just for a bit before picking that mop back up...;)
