The future of Bond ... girls ...

Next Bond girl will be played by Latina actress

We may not yet know the title of the next James Bond movie, and we may not know what the story is about, but we now at least have an idea of who the next Bond Babe will be... even if her character might not have a name yet.

According to casting notices sent out this morning, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are looking for a Latina actress in her late twenties, preferably with South American roots. Despite their plea that prospective talent not be worried about fitting the traditional Bond Girl look, since this is the "new" Bond series, she must be quite beautiful, able to handle what promises to be a physically demanding role, fluent in English and, last but most certainly not least, a great actress.

The next Bond film will begin filming in the United Kingdom and across Europe and South America under the direction of Marc Foster this coming January, with a six month production anticipated.

5. Celina Font (saw her in a crappy movie, but she was luminous and a good actress)
6. Dania Ramirez (I pretty much think Dania should be in everything, lol. And with her last name and complexion you know it could happen!)
7. Alice Braga (I haven't actually seen anything with her, but I've heard she's good and she's related to Sonia Braga who I lurve)

... and I'm out of ideas (as much as I liked Dark Angel I refuse to consider Jessica Alba)

Cote de Pablo is a possibility being from Chile. I've only seen a few episodes of NCIS but I like Ziva. I'm in love with the idea of Jordana Brewster as a Bond Girl (especially since the new franchise seems to be interested in giving the girls an actual character), and I'm actually ashamed I didn't put her on my list because I misread it as them having to be from South America instead of just having roots in South America. *is going to add to list*

Jordana's now my second favorite choice, number one is still Mia :D

The only one that comes to my mind right now is Roselyn Sanchez, from Without a Trace: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0761052/. She could make a good Bond girl I think. But I totally agree with Mia Maestro and Jordana Brewter, I love them! Though they look kind alike, maybe that's why.

of the lot, definitely mia...see the thing i think about bond girls, at least for me, they don't have to be just beautiful or fuckin' smokin' hot...they also have to have a certain...air about them i think...mia's got that extra something and i think eva *could* pull it off...but the others, i'm not too sure...jordana as much as i like her, i think she's a bit too pedestrian to be a bond chick...i think eva green was the last "real" bond girl to be in a bond movie since famke.

Roselyn Sanchez would be a good choice as well (she was like the best thing about Rush Hour 2), I could see her being super glamorous and I think she's a pretty good actress as well. I heart is totally with Mia Maestro though, I think she's so great and I'd LOVE for her to get a role that would get her some mainstream attention.

Mia's my dream choice as of the moment. She's a brilliant actress, beautiful, and can be totally badass, and when Mia cries I cry. Plus, I would love for her to have a mainstream smash under her belt so that I can see her in more things.

Of the name actresses I think Eva Mendes would probably be the best choice (that shot of her walking and smoking from the "We Own The Night" trailer makes me want to see her as a femme fatale so bad), and even though the memories of Ghost Rider are tainting my memory right now, she's gorgeous and she can act.

I'll give Jordana the benefit of the doubt though. I think she's amazing charismatic on screen, I find her to be ridiculously good looking, and I think with a good script that we could see some really good acting from her.

Totally. Eva and Famke ftw! I love that Famke wasn't even really the Bond Girl, Izabella Scorupco was, but Famke's the one everyone remembers because she pwned that movie. Roselyn Sanchez I could definitely see pulling it off as well. As for Patricia, she hasn't really done much to show of her acting skillz, but I'm convinced that she has them, and I know she can be badass from the Mummy Returns, and she also has an ability to project vulnerability really well that could be good for the role as well. I also wouldn't mind her career getting a boost, it's been forever since I've seen her in anything!

I personally don't think she's capable of doing more than standing around, smiling, looking pretty, giving half witty remarks and acting in campy sci-fi, actiony type movies. She may one day surprise us though. Right. And satan will skate to work with a polar bear named Frank.
