I was more than willing to handwave any continuity issues if it meant more Shaw. She is - 'hello! where have *you* been all my life?' hot!

I know! I mean it was worse for me, because apparently I'm an idiot and I didn't have any idea she was going to die (I know, I know so slow it borders on special) so when the bomb thing happened I was all like "But...but...but THE PRETTY! Nooooooooooooooo!" Not only was she gorgeous, but she's a very good actress as well, she totally sold me on Kendra and had be totally invested in her and I felt sorry for her instead of wanting to kick her ass like I did most of the Galactica crew when we got the "so and so has ISSUES" episodes.

I'm gonna have to start calling her the Black Widow.

It's so true. Starbuck is purty, but I'd avoid her like the black plague knowing that some horrible fate awaited me if we had any chemistry together.

I think my favorite scene was the one where Starbuck busted Shaw.

That was a good scene, I totally dug everything about it (and am especially fond of it because it made me like Starbuck again. Last season she pissed me off, and that scene was when I remembered why I used to like the character). *mourns the fact there shall be no more Shaw/Starbuck bonding*

I think, in the end, I was just a *tiny* bit disappointed in that this wasn't really about Cain as much as it was a setup for the next season of Galactica.

Word. We didn't really get the indepth look at Cain that I was hoping we would. It was more like they just showed us stuff that was implied in season 2, and then threw in "and she had her heartbroken" plotline as an explanation of why she was so crazy, instead of really exploring the issue.

And, in the end, there was that feeling Cain doing what she did not so much because of the dire circumstances but because she was a borderline nutjob who cracked under pressure.

Yeah. They really needed to show more of what the Pegasus went threw in order for us to understand why Cain acted the way she did. I mean, I can come up with all sorts of explanations myself, but it's not really great storytelling to make the viewer do that much work.

That's more of a time issue, imo. This could easily have been a two-parter.

It really should have been, even if it was three hours split into 1 1/2 hour installments would have given them enough time to really delve into Cain and the Pegasus more. And, shallow viewing aside, would have given them a chance to show Gina and Cain interact one on one which would have added weight to Gina's betrayal. I mean, one scene of Cain being weak and Gina comforting her would have made the later reveal so much more effecting.
