Hi-ho, hi-ho, artist pimping I go ...

Okay, so I know next to nothing about J-Pop ... but I know this Bonnie Pink is awesome and I will PIMP her!

On YTV earlier tonight (yes, I know, shut up I was just flipping through the channels!)they had a reporter in Osaka so they were showing J-Pop videos interspersed with Canadian stuff. So, they did kind of a spotlight on a girl named Bonnie Pink, playing part of a video in the background when the annoying hostess described her instead of actually showing the video (Grr Argh). Anyway, what I could hear of the song was pretty awesome, so I started watching the J-Pop section. So of course, because I started to watch it for Bonnie Pink, they decided to play 'Kick The Can Crew' and "Puffy Ami Yumi" and a bunch of other stuff I didn't care about or like that much.

So, I was forced to take matters into my own hands ... or more precisely I was turned to my trusty friend LimeWire, which has never let me down (except for finding music by a band called 'Seymour Glass', but I digress).

So, so far I've listened to 7 songs, and loved all of them. They are, in no particular order:

1. It's Gonna Rain
2. So Wonderful
3. Meddler
4. Heaven's Kitchen (Funky as hell, I love this one!)
5. Chronic Vertigo
6. Rumblefish (Really great song)
and
7. Private Laughter
8. Daisy (this song is like a relaxing summer day, lurve)

Pretty in Pink )

The music so funky and diverse, and she's got a really nice, silky voice. Most of the songs mix Japanese and English, but it doesn't matter if you can't understand half of what she's saying (which I don't) because the songs are so awesome.

End of Pimp-age ... [Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson Voice]Thank yew![/DCBJV]

CTV, I cursed you for playing "The O.C." promos, but I love you for replaying Cold Case 2x22, "Best Friends".

As I stated in my title, this was like the bestest, most gayest episode of like any cop-drama I've seen. 'Cold Case' has had a history of handling stories that deal with race and sexuality with respect in the past, and this episode kept that track record in tact. If I saw the set up for black/white girl loving in the 1930s as the teaser for another cop-drama I might have feared for how they'd handle it, but I felt confident to sit down and enjoy the ride with Cold Case, and was greatly rewarded.

The flashback scenes between Billie and Rose were excellent, so sexy and cute and loving. I have to give mad props to the actresses Samantha Streets (Rose) and Tessa Thompson (Billie) because with just their eyes the two of them were generating heat like 10 seconds into the episode, no word of a lie! Not to mention both are easy on the eyes (Streets really reminded of Brittany Snow from 'American Dreams' and 'The Pacifer'. This really has nothing to do with the episode other than the fact that I spent most of the episode going 'is that Brittany Snow?')

What I loved the most was that despite the angst, and death, was that when asked to chose between her crappy family and love, Rose chose Billie. And that at the end of it all despite everything that happened it was made clear at the end of it all that Billie was Rose's true love, awwwww.

Seriously, Billie/Rose was almost as cute as Lucy/Amy, almost. Stupid pesky, 1932 setting and it's inevitable angst!
