It was stupid. She knew it was stupid the moment she walked out of the house. But she was pissed, and people did stupid things when they were pissed, and if Jaime was at home taking care of her like she was supposed to, then she never would have been able to do such a stupid thing, so it was Jaime’s fault anyway.
At least that’s what Becca told herself as she ordered another shot, and leaned heavily against the bar top in front of her.
“Your guy must do good work.”
Becca blinked slowly, her eyes taking a second to focus on the blonde standing in front of her.
“What?” she asked, her face screwing up in confusion and annoyance. She was far too drunk to try and decipher cryptic comments from a stranger.
“Whoever made the fake ID you used to get in here,” the blonde said smiling in an irritatingly superior way. “They must do good work.”
Becca turned to look for the bartender to see if he had heard the blonde’s comments, afraid that the alcohol train she had been riding for the better part of an hour was about to pull into station. Luckily he was on the other side of the bar (hopefully getting her shot).
“I’m aging gracefully. Fuck off,” Becca murmured turning around in her seat, starting the first brilliant part of her plan to ignore the blonde until she went away.
“Interesting name. Kind of paint’s you into a corner though,” the blonde replied before rudely sticking her hand into Becca’s line of vision. “I’m Sarah, and while I do like to fuck, I still need to order a drink.”
Becca turned slowly to consider the woman, Sarah, a smile touching her lips as the other woman continued to smile at her and shake her hand affably.
“Becca,” the brunette sighed, though she was still smiling a bit when Sarah finally released her hand.
“Listen, I’m sorry if I pissed you off just now,” Sarah said, settling onto the stool next to Becca. “I wasn’t trying to be an asshole,” she continued sighing before looking down at her boot shyly. “I saw you from across the bar, as the story goes, and well, you are aging gracefully. I just wanted to know if I was going to go to pervert prison if I bought you a drink.”
“I didn’t know you could go to prison for buying people drinks,” Becca responded, blushing a little as she looked at Sarah a little more closely. She was attractive, and seemed a little dangerous, or edgy or something else that Becca couldn’t really identify but kind of liked. But she was a girl, and probably older than her sister, and flattering as it was to be hit on she wasn’t sure if she should continue talking to the blonde when she had no intention of putting out, or if she should do the smart thing and go home.
“Only if you do it right,” Sarah responded winking as the bartender came over, depositing Becca’s shot in front of her.
“Well, as you can see,” Becca said holding up the shot in front of her, her hand moving to the bar top, bracing on it as she prepared to push away and stand up.
“I see,” Sarah said, looking over at Becca, something in her gaze stopping the brunette’s motion, keeping her trapped in a position halfway between sitting and standing. “It looks lonely though. Lemme order it a friend,” the blonde offered, her eyes never leaving Becca’s, not even blinking as she spoke. “Please,” she added in a softer tone, the arrogance Becca had come to associate with her nowhere in sight at the moment.
Becca nodded and sat down.
So much for the smart thing, she thought with a little shake of her head.
Sarah smiled and lifted her hand, waving the bartender over.
“Two Cocksucking Cowboys, please,” the blonde declared with a sunny smile when the bartender arrived.
Becca laughed and shook her head. The night was certainly getting more interesting.

Two days later …
Jaime entered Jonas’s office, her guard immediately going up when she saw Ruth and Jae already situated inside the room and around Jonas’s desk.
“What?” Jaime asked wearily, already knowing that she was going to hate whatever came out of any of their mouths.
“Sarah Corvis is back,” Ruth began slowly, watching Jaime carefully as she spoke. Jaime recognized it as her ‘people are delicate flowers’ voice. It was the one she used before dropping some heinous piece of fuckery on someone.
Jaime sighed.
“She always comes back. Like herpes … and disco. What’s she done now?”
Ruth turned to look at Jonas at that, and Jonas looked back over at her; the two of them no doubt silently debating whether to tell her the truth or lie as usual, while Jae looked down at the desk top refusing to meet anyone’s gaze.
“Hello,” Jaime said a few seconds later, lifting up her hands and waving them in the air. “I just asked a question. Is anyone gonna answer, or are we just gonna to break for lunch?”
“She needs to see,” Ruth said finally, not bothering to whisper since she knew Jaime would be able to hear it anyway.
Jonas nodded, and Jae stepped back, making room for Jaime behind the desk.
“This,” Jonas said, indicating a jump drive that was connected to the computer, “came in the mail for you this morning …”
“So of course you decided to open it,” Jaime grumbled, though she kept her eyes focused on the screen.
“There was no return address. It was marked as suspicious and needed to be opened, so yes,” Jonas replied looking over at her briefly, but then deciding to let it drop. Jaime would have enough on her plate in a few minutes. There was no reason to add to her burden. “It was filmed while you were in
Jaime looked over at him, that horrible sinking feeling in her stomach again, but reached for the mouse anyway, starting up the sole video on the jump drive.
“I’ve never done this before.”
Jaime looked over at Jonas sharply as she heard the voice. The screen was still dark, but she recognized the speaker immediately as her sister.
“What is this?” Jaime asked, but before she got a response the screen lit up and figures appear for the first time, drawing her attention back to it.
“That’s alright, I was planning on doing most of the work anyway.”
Jaime blinked, trying to make sense of what she was seeing as Becca and Sarah Corvis came into frame. They were in what looked like a hotel room, and Sarah was smiling at Becca.
Jaime shivered, her stomach clenching painfully as she watched Sarah reach out for Becca and then draw her sister into her body, holding her intimately. For a moment Jaime desperately prayed that this wasn’t the type of video she was beginning to fear it was, but before she could even finish the desperate though, Sarah leaned forward and pressed her lips against Becca’s, kissing her soundly.
“So, I’m supposed to just sit back and enjoy the ride?” Becca asked smiling a little when Sarah pulled back, though there was still some nervous tension in her voice.
“Sure,” Sarah breathed out, her hands moving to Becca’s jeans. “We can start sitting,” she continued as she undid the brunette’s belt and pulled it out of the tabs with a flourish.
“What comes next?” Becca asked somewhat breathlessly, allowing Sarah to direct her to the couch, sitting down when the blonde indicated that she should.
“Lying down,” Sarah said softly, pulling Becca’s jeans down over her thighs and then finally over her feet, tossing them to the side carelessly a moment later. “Then maybe in the kitchen, on the floor, and in the shower,” she went on placing a kiss on Becca’s inner thigh before sliding on top of the couch as well so that she was straddling the brunette.
“Oh,” Becca said breathlessly.
Sarah laughed and leaned forward pressing her lips to Becca’s once more.
“Don’t worry,” Sarah said, her hand moving to Becca’s hip and then disappearing between their bodies. “I’ll ease you into it.”
Jaime placed her hand in front of the screen, angling her head away from it, reaching out a few seconds later to yank the jump drive out of the computer when sounds that she really didn’t need to hear began to emerge from the speakers.
“Jaime,” Ruth began as the jump drive slipped from Jaime’s fingers, clattering onto the desk.
Jaime shook her head over and over again before blinking rapidly, forcing herself to focus on the people around her.
“No,” she hissed shaking her head again as her gaze shifted between them. “No,” she repeated, her lips curling with anger as she moved around the desk. “She wants a fight. She’s got it,” Jaime continued, her voice low and rough, and tightly controlled. “It’s on.”

That is so made of win and totally an accurate description of Ruth's tone.
Sarah's a crazy bitch, but I totally love her.

Date: 2008-07-02 03:41 am (UTC)Funny thing, considering "Sarah" was Georgina's name to Dan.

Date: 2008-07-02 04:08 am (UTC)I know. Bitch is so crazy, but that's why we love her.
Are we sure she's not related to Georgina?
OMG! Those two together could take over the world with their insanity. I love it. Seriously, Jaime and Serena should form a support group.

Date: 2008-07-02 04:09 am (UTC)Sarah would fucking eat Georgina alive though (I mean, she was almost manhandled by Serena, who while quite handsome and dashing is not bionic). Georgina would totally be into that though (she'd probably beg for it).
*nods head*
Niiiice.

Date: 2008-07-02 04:12 am (UTC)Hee. I'm glad you liked that one, I was giggling when I wrote that. Yet, I totally know why people use that voice, it really does relax you, even when you know the fuckery is on its way.
Sarah's a crazy bitch, but I totally love her.
I know, I totally get it. The crazy is why I love her. The comparison to Georgina is just perfect (it's also the reason I loved Irina Derevko, and will love Adelle Dewitt)

Date: 2008-07-04 01:47 pm (UTC)And by the way, I have been resisting joining LJ for a good long while. Been frustrating not to be able to comment on your many delicious fics though, so this is the fic that broke the camel's back and I have succumbed! (It has me alternatively cursing you, for leaving the ending as it is, and praising the chair you sit on, for your many imaginative - and sometimes twisted - fics.) :P
