Alice (and Jasper and sometimes the other Cullens) are pretty much the only thing I can stand about the whole series.
Oh, I know. Alice and Esme *cough MILF cough* are my favorities, then Carlisle and Emmett and Jasper. Edward is not on my list at all. I think Rosalie might be fun (I certainly liked that she couldn't stand Bella), but since she never got like more than a sentence written about her at a time, it's hard to tell.
And when Bella isn't being made into a mindless zombie in the presence of Edward, she can be tolerable
So true. When she and Jacob first started hanging out in New Moon, I actually liked Bella quite a bit (at least when she was with him, and not blathering on about the voices and the hole in her chest *ugh*). But Edward and Bella together are absolutely unbearable. I have to skip over conversations with them if no one else is there because it is just so unbearable.
If Bella had to end up with a dude (which in Stephanie Meyer's world is the ONLY way to be happy) she would have been so much better off with Jacob. Canonically, I'm very much TEAM JACOB, although ideally I'm all about Alice.
Can you give me a heads up, I'm very very afraid that Eclipse is going to be 90% Bella/Edward hallmark schmaltz that will make me want to stab my eyeballs out. Is it as bad as the end of New Moon, or do the other characters get enough to do that it will be bearable?
'if Edward won't change me, I'll just have Alice do it'. Damn, girl, isn't that process supposed to be kind of intimate?
And they come off really, really gay for each other.
Really, really gay for each other. Seriously, reading The Visitor chapter of New Moon, I was like "are you setting up a threesome? It really seems like your setting up a threesome, or at the very least, a 'Bella is sexually confused' subplot', lol. When she was going on about setting up the couch for Alice "not that she would need it", my first thought was "because you'll be sexin?" And then the constant snuggling, and Alice kissing her cheek all the time, and Bella falling asleep in Alice's lap. So gay.
lol, yeah. The best was that after the vote Bella was "come on Alice, do me now, stick your fangs in me", like she didn't even want to wait. But I guess Bella is just a fang whore because she was also gonna let Carlisle do it, and if not him then she was going to go to the Volturi, so I don't think she cares much.
It's kind of an odd plot device, but I think it works, heh.
