Ivy's kind of like a puppy who's been kicked too many times (while I abhor the mental image that conjurs, it's rather true).
This really is Ivy. It's a horrible image, but it fits her so perfectly. I think that's where all of the hugging comments come from. She's someone who's been hurt so deeply, and you just want her to be comforted, and happy, so that she can heal. I want to take her home, wrap her up in a fluffy blanket, feed her hot coco and snuggle with her for days.
She wants so desperately to believe that Rachel's serious but the memories of past rejection won't let her. :/
It sometimes amazes me that Ivy has managed to stay with Rachel for as long as she has. I mean, she hasn't hid her feelings and it must be BRUTAL to be rejected that many times on so many different levels. Ivy's such a strange mix of strength and crushing vulnerability. The fact that she stays, really shows just how much she NEEDS Rachel though.
