They never showed her die on screen, so in my head she's always been alive. BUT, she was left in a very dire situation so most people assumed she died off screen.
The fact that she survived makes me ridiculously happy. It makes The Descent 2 go from, "I'll probably watch it" to "I'm there, man! I'm fucking there!"
