from the moment I first saw claire's scars, I had this idea that she had been programmed to be who she was... my thought was that she was a doll that got injured in the course of duty and so retired, which was quickly disproved last week. or well sorta...
I was surprised by how recent the scars were. I thought that if she was a former Doll she had been injured years in the past. I also thought that Alpha had been gone longer than three months. Of course, she could still be a former Doll who was retired to the Medical field for another reason, like after a certain number of years the "treatments" start to effect their brains or something.
Her emotions seem far too conflicting regarding the dollhouse and what they do. At one end she dislikes the whole conscept but then has this undeniable loyalty to the house.
So true. I loved Topher's line last episode "Boyd? What are you guys, buddies now? ... ... Of course you are. You both disapprove of everything. You're going to get married and have scowly babies." Cause they both having that disapproving/loyal thing going on.
I'm very interested to find out why it is Boyd took the job, and why it is that Claire is still there since they clearly have moral issues with the place.
I found Adelle's affection towards claire touching, very remeniscent of Boyde and Echo... perhaps that's why she lets them get away with so much.
Ever since Claire was being snippy and Adelle basically just rolled her eyes at her instead of telling her to shut it, I'm convinced the two of them have a connection. And being her old Handler would totally explain that affection. Also, it really does give some insight into why Adelle seems fond of the Dolls on some level, while the other asshole who are in it for the paychecks (i.e. Reed Diamond's character and Sierra's handler) don't give a shit about the Actives.
Well that and all the money Echo makes her ;)
Of course, there is always that. But she can make a profit, and still care :D
