The (lame) straight option -- let them sleep together and get cockblocked by Rachel's "straightness", after which they accept a relationship of best-friends-only. The angsty queer option -- have them sleep together, Rachel freaks out for a book or two, and then she finally admits how she feels about Ivy and they work on building a relationship. The heteroflexible option -- have Rachel finally wake up (possibly due to Ivy getting with someone else and Rachel becoming jealous) and spend a book trying to reconcile her feelings for Ivy with her "straightness", before she admits how she is BLATANTLY GAY FOR IVY, and they enact Ravy.

All of this would be better than what we're going to get. All of these suggestions wouldn't be necessarily satisfying, but they would totally be better. But what we're going to get is the same old shit we've always gotten, with Rachel and Ivy moving glacially towards ... I don't even know what, since I don't think she's going to have them end up together. It'll be like 12 books worse of rising action and then the series will roll over and fall asleep before the climax.

This, 'Rachel is going to grow up' and 'there is no sexual tension because they are seeing other people (while meanwhile there is truck loads of UST between them)' is SO OLD. It is SO INCREDIBLY OLD AND BORING. I'm ...

From what I've gleaned from Amazon, even the straight fans are tired of this angsty, unresolved ridiculousness.

Yeah. And it's because gay or straight, smart people recognize stupid for what it is. And this insane dragging out of the will they/won't they is STUPID AS HELL.
