i love, love, love this movie. i've already seen it twice and to be honest, i wouldn't be opposed to seeing it a third time before it leaves theaters. i was afraid that it would feel forced, but everything seemed really organic - which is a big deal considering it IS a reboot, after all. :)
the casting was fantastic. i am in awe of the level of detail that must have went into the filming of this movie. the vocal inflections, the signature phrases, the tiny individual characteristics that are completely necessary for re-building a pre-existing character : it's all in there, and it's 100% natural. as someone familiar with these characters, that's a huge accomplishment because these weren't actors playing some of my favorite characters : these actors truly became those characters, embodying them almost exactly as i've always known them. every single one of them blew me away.
spock/uhura = killed me. their little stolen moments together were perfection.
as you said, there were minor quibbles, but nothing to really make a fuss over. simply put, this movie rocked.
