I don't know if you heard about this but there was episode of Dollhouse that Fox never aired. It was included on the Dvd *cough*DLtorrent*cough* that kinda shows the future. Joss Whedon has said the epiosode is canon and so if you watch it you will see why Whiskey isn't dead and why Tophers character is starting to be empathy-worthy. I forget the name but search google and you will find the ep title.
