the ending was too smart for me. I really didn't understand what Ivy was doing or wot.. I think that's the main idea in this fic and I kinda missed it.
I think there was just some bad execution with the ending :( By making Rachel actually have a pepper on her chopsticks I made the meaning of Ivy's comment a little too hidden.
Oh Glenn, just get out. It's not worth it. Find someone who is less trouble. So conflicted, this hot chick Ivy, who's also a total badass, self-reliant, porn star, lots of money and sorta vulnerable and lonely at the same time, but on the other hand she's kinda scary and probably will get you killed at some point, because she hangs around this crazy ass black demon spawn witch called Rachel, who about everybody in the supernatural world hates and wants to kill until dead.
I copied this whole paragraph because everything is just spot on. I honestly feel bad for anyone (except Pierce) who gets involved with either Rachel or Ivy because they are both WAY too high maintanence. Ivy is a super-awesome amazing and wonderful girlfriend with Rachel, but can reach almost Rachel Morgan-esque levels of douchery with other people. Run away, Glenn. Run away. Rachel and Ivy are the only people who can survive each other!
One of my problems also is how Ivy just seems to be suddenly attracted to whatever animate or inanimate object.
LOL! I know. It's ridiculous. Everything seems so random with Ivy because Kim never takes enough time to develop Ivy's storylines. Or she's just made Rachel such a bad/clueless friend that Rachel doesn't notice basically anything about Ivy's life so everything seems to come out of left field. David is the epitome of this for me. There was just no sense to that whatsoever.
There's no buildup, no way for the readers to be actually invested in the relationship. Or perhaps it's just my inability to see Ivy with anyone else except Rachel version one point o.
For me it's a bit of both. Ivy's so into Rachel that I just don't buy her being happy with anyone but Rachel in the long run (at least not while she's still living with Rachel. I think she'd have to move out/move away to truly get over Rachel).
Then it's like, her relationships never get any development so I can't really picture her with anyone else anyway. Like, in theory I don't think Ivy/Glenn was too bad, and at the end of WWBC I didn't completely hate the idea because Ivy seemed happy and was cracking jokes and I was like, "Okay, if Glenn makes her all giddy and happy then I can deal with them being together for a bit". So of course in BMS Ivy and Glenn are only in like one scene and they don't even really interact with each other. So, any tolerance that could have become mild like I had for them is vanquished because Kim couldn't be bothered showing them interact for a few paragraphs. I mean half of the exposition about Glenn/Ivy in BMS was actually setting up Ivy/Daryl so I was like, 'why should I give a shit about ivy/glenn when you're already setting her up to dump his ass for the hot nymph girl?' *sigh*

Sorry, this response got a little rant-y.
