I really like the complexity behind Cara and Dahlia's relationship. I've come to like her enough that I can accept that she's this window in time during her bigger plot towards Kahlan. Or something like that.
But your story is very much what I imagine it would be like for Cara at the temple. That longing, still having the streak of rebelliousness, and Dahlia at her side, at once trying to reign her in as well as protect her.
