Well, I probably would have really liked that episode if it wasn't possibly the last one of the series.
Werd! That is exactly how I felt. Although it did feel like the episode should be called "Did anyone order a Deus Ex Machina?"
Mostly, it just left me feeling like I was wrong to give the writers any credit whatsoever for "Eternity" and the Cara/Dahlia relationship. It has become clear to me now that like 90% of the awesome of "Eternity" was due to Tab and Laura Brent bringing their "A" games and adding a ton of emotion between Cara/Dahlia that the writers probably didn't intend, but were perfectly happy to let stand once they saw it onscreen.
ITA. It's funny that you say this because when I saw the spoiler sides for Eternity I was actually less enthused to see the episode because when I read the script, I interpretted it as some SWF stalking shit. I never thought it would be played with such honest emotion, so when I saw it on screen I wrongfully assumed that the it meant more than it did. Just great acting on the part of the ladies. Perhaps, it was even the director who decided to make the story more schmoopy. In the end I am still glad they did because, on its one, that was a great episode. Still, it made the next two episodes a bit of a crash landing for me.
Zedd doing the 'unbreaking spell' on Dahlia didn't enrage me as much as it has enraged others, but I certainly didn't like it. It seemed like a really lazy and insulting way to wrap up a storyline from a useless episode that shouldn't even have been made in the first place.
I'm not gonna lie. It annoyed me a bit. Just because now, techinally the relationship isn't even cannon anymore. And yes to the 'lazy writing.' To me, the whole 'Unbroken' episode was a waste of time. 44 minutes to basically work some magic to get them to leapfrog to having the stone of tears.
As far as the 'good' goes, I'm with you all the way. Condar and Confessed Kahlan is wicked! Her and Nicci were creepy, but in a good way. The fights were epic and Cara going all Top Bitch on her former sisters was dreamy.
The Richard/Kahlan moment was very sweet, but her producing the stone of tears again....maybe it wouldn't of seemed silly to me if they didn't have so many other WTF moments.
All in all, I will miss LotS. Cara...I will miss you most of all.
