I'm not hatin', but TBH instead of this pic making me excited for Catwoman it's making me wish that there was a Batgirl. 

Hopefully Catwoman has just stolen Batman's cycle to fuck with him cause she's awesome like that.

My first thought - seeing the picture - was you'd found a hot new sci-fi flick to watch. Because for that, this would be kinda awesomesauce. But CATWOMAN? Please. The woman didn't NEED some big ugly motorcycle to be cool - she was like a thieving Batman, but without the massive gadgets.

Though the idea of Catwoman stealing Batman's cycle to mess with his head did make me giggle.

I know, right. There's something wonky about them. It's probably the lights at the side. I know they're probably high tech in the movie, but they look silly.

Oh, would that that were the case! I would have watched that show every week (I'm imagining a Dark Angel type of show ... and now I'm missing Dark Angel).

This. Catwoman should be clever, agile and stealthy. She does not need a utility belt and a ginormous motorcycle. However, based on the new set pics (http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/61693501.html#cutid1) it looks like she probably did steal the cycle so hopefully that means that the character is going to be wildly different than the type of Catwomen we're used to.

But in all seriousness, she's Selena in the movie, not Catwoman yet so what's with all the fuss over the lack of cat costume?

Although I think Nolan's Batman films are vastly superior to the previous four, there's one thing I give them credit over Nolan's and that is, would it really hurt Nolan to get some decent designers?

The Batman and Joker costumes were probably the only ones I think were fine. All the rest are mediocre to terrible. Like the other villain Bane (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1245167360/tt1345836). I could understand using a gas mask instead of a gimp mask if Bane gets his genetic juice by inhaling it, by what's with the teeth design? And the rest of the costume is equally terrible.

As for Catwoman, shouldn't her costume have some sort of cat theme going on? And if people's suspicions is correct that Nolan is having her as Selina and becoming Catwoman near the end, then why put her in a costume and have her embracing her nature already? Shouldn't it be more logical to have her take a similar route to Smallville or even Batman Begins where the character is doing their thing in more normal outfits, and only puts on a costume after they embraced their nature?

I've seen more better costumes in Comic Con pics. Though I don't mind the goggles too much since recent Catwoman designs has her sporting goggles.

As for the Batgirl comment, that pic doesn't make me wish it was Batgirl, it reminds me more of Batwoman (http://loknar54.com/MA-Batwoman.html). Who interestingly is a canon lesbian.

Though would you say this is a sign Nolan could give us a decent female lead, or do you think this is just leading to a letdown?

Descriptions of the character have been so vague that I guess people don't know what stage of life we're going to see Selina Kyle in, so people were just hoping for some classic Catwoman costuming.

I think you're right though and she hasn't adopted the Catwoman persona yet in the movie. I think/hope that we'll see her in a more classically Catwoman outfit by the end of the film though.
