It's a talent. I have great ideas, but I can never seem to articulate them properly in a story (see my disastrous attempt at writing an AU Melisande/Phedre where Phedre joins Melisande instead of being rescued from La Dolorosa). That's why I love having talented authors like you as my friends - I supply the ideas, they supply the stories, and everybody's happy.
Well except for me, because I still feel like a failure. But then I tell myself I am both Mandrake and Shahrizai, and am merely manipulating the people around me so they pleasure me and fulfill my desires, and am all sorts of awesome.
Speak of which: Who is more sexy, Melisande or Bo? You know, we really need to make a poll of all the lesbian/bi characters we know and love, and choose the sexiest, the most beautiful, the one we'd marry, etc. In the Kushiel Sorting community we're doing a sexiest Man/Woman in the Kushiel series, but I say we two should get serious about a much greater scope.
