Yay, the show was back to being awesome tonight! 

1.  Kate Mulgrew's voice continues to make sweet love to my ears every time she opens her mouth.

2.  Myka HBICing and grappling hooking shit and diving out of elevators works for me on every level.  BAMF!

3.  Myka's proud girlfriending made my heart happy.  "It was in 1890" *shit eating grin because even with that glint of insanity in her eyes, her girlfriend is cooler than yours*

4.  Jinks I love that you are a man of principle ... but even creature of lightness and good Kahlan Amnell stabbed the hell out of things when shit got real.  Obviously, you are a better person than I Jinksy because I thought Kentucky Fried Agent got what was coming to her. 

5.  Sisters doin' it for themselves!

6.  The Tesla Grenade will never not be cool.

7.  Seeing that guy from Painkiller Jane makes me want Kristanna Loken to guest star on this show that so I can have two statuesque beauties to ogle in one episode, and also that she and Joanne can eye-fuck the hell out of each other.

8.  Really Adwin, I know you had a boo boo on your head and all, but if Jane's new bracelet was really that important you probably should have let her go first.

9. Pete's concern for Myka makes my insides joyful.  I love their bromance.  The way he was ready to just charge into that building after her, and then the hug, and the look on his face ... PETE I LOVE YOU WHEN YOU'RE SCHMOOPY!

10.  The Jinksy/Claudia scene broke my heart.  Jinsky you made Claudia cry!  You are the Myka to Claudia's Pete.  You're her BiFF and she needs you buddy.  I hope that Jinksy comes back soon (but I can do without him or an episode or two if it means they can work H.G. in).

11.  I wish I hadn't been spoiled for Jane's last name.  I knew what was coming, but even so the look on Janeway's face when Myka introduced Pete and then "Mom?" still worked for me.
In conclusion ... it could've used some H.G., but other than that I give the eppy two thumbs up!

To me Kate Mulgrew will always be Helen Donnelly of the Black Donnellys. If you haven't seen it, it's awesome and Kevin is my favorite (and after seeing Winter's Bone, Jennifer Lawrence is the youngest and only girl Donnelly in my head). The Black Donnellys also was my first introduction to Kahlan and Olivia Wilde is in it too (I know... I don't understand why a series with Kate Mulgrew, Bridget Regan, Olivia Wilde, and Billy Lush was canceled either...) Kate played the tough love Irish mom which was so cool to see since it was so different from Janeway.

Grappling hook momment was awesome and even Artie knows this:
Myka: did you bring the grappling hook?
Artie: Of course.
Al though I can't see Myka letting Artie hold or covet her gf's invention but maybe her inspector gadget jacket only has so many pockets so it had to be stored in Artie's Mary Poppins bag.... All I could think was how is Myka going to tell HG? Your invention totally saved the day... but I kinda broke it...? I mean it's lasted since the 1890s! It was all sorts of durable. Koursan should lose weight..I'm sure he broke it.
In addition to Jane telling Myka to buck up, I think Myka totally had an Obi Wan moment when she saw the agent die and heard HG tell her to GO in her head.
So the episode was awesome although I knew she'd be Pete's mom from the firehose scene.

Check out at least the first three episodes of The Black Donnellys (and huggle Kevin who is also the wheelchair dude in To the Lighthouse in TSCC)
How adorable was Summer in the music video? I'm not into Keith Urban at all but the song is catchy and the she's easy on the eyes

Okay off topic here, but since you're a fan of the show Nikita, I'm sure you don't mind me talking about the series.

Anyways I got to admit I'm among the people watching your LJ who hasn't seen the show entirely. I probably only saw the Zoie Palmer episode. Anyways the reason why I want to talk about Nikita is that a few days ago I got overjoyed by the news that my girl Katheryn Winnick (chick in my icon) is going to be on the show in episode 4 of the new season. Which is a perfect fit since Katheryn's a real life martial artist.

More interesting is that her character Kelly, is Nikita's ex partner that ended up in a Turkish prison. On first impressions this sounds like a typical revenge story. However then I saw this interview:

According to the series creator, Kelly returning may have more to do with trying to find a home than revenge. Okay that sounds interesting. I hope Kelly becomes a recurring character. And depending how this angle plays out, I might even be tempted to ship Katheryn with Lyndsy Fonseca.

So long grappler. It's awesome that it came to the rescue and all but why did it have to die? I just want to see that come up in conversation next time Myka and H.G. have words.

Myka was all kinds of badass this episode. A thousand times better than weepy Myka last episode, you don't listen to her you gonna get dead. It's sad that Myka had to watch the guy die, but I'm loving the camaraderie between Myka and Jane. It's always great when you get along with your best friend's parents.

I was basically watching this entire episode on the edge of my seat, so suspenseful. And then Jinks had to go and ruin it by making Claudia cry. He's like her new big brother/best friend, even though he's an idiot I don't want him to leave.

got way too excited when they did a closeup of Sally's hand when she was tied up because I thought that it kinda looked like H.G.'s ring and she was going to magic her way out and thus proving I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG AND H.G.'S RING WAS AN ARTIFACT.

Turns out I'm just crazy.

Also when Myka came strutting out in those glasses after Tesla'ing the hell out of Sally whatsherface, I had a brief screechy moment where I was like "OH MY GOD, MYKA IS WEARING HELENA'S PERCEPTOR GLAS- wait. Wait...wait."

i love their dynamic because they both are missing their respective sibs and they foil each other so well and they're just so gosh darn cute together... however see comments regarding #4...sorry but that was a bitch ass move jinksie...

OMG, do you know how badly I wanted to see this post last night? Watched it early on the HD channel and spent the rest of the evening fangirling all by myself. =(

but even creature of lightness and good Kahlan Amnell stabbed the hell out of things when shit got real.

Choked on soda, laughed my ass off. Never would've thought to compare Kahlan with Jynks (which is odd, 'cause the woman rox my sox like whoa), but it totally works. Though am I the only one who thought Sally might have been his 'dead' sister, and the whole thing was a setup? If you listen to what his explanation to Claudia, he says "I couldn't do what she - " It seems like he means Ms. Fredrick, but he could have been talking about Sally and their 'plan' - he was supposed to kill Ms. Fredrick, but he couldn't do what 'she' (Sally) wanted.

Though I still kinda want to slug him for making Claudia cry. She was ten thousand kinds of awesome in this episode, and that made the ending just a million times worse.

As for the rest - cool-factor-eleven Janeway as "Mom," Myka being badass with the Tesla/flip-shades/grappler, Claudia with her Tesla grenade/navigation hacking, Pete with his bro-mance, even Artie and Mrs. Fredrick - what can I say? This episode KICKED ASS. Other quotes of awesome:

Mrs. Fredrick: Jynks protests that Artie says they won't use artifacts to torture people I am not Artie.

Sally: Alone at last.
Jynks: Listen, even if I liked girls, I think an hour alone with you would turn me gay.

I'm just scared Wheelchair Man is gonna turn out to be Pete's Dad. Which would MASSIVELY suck.
