to be honest, i always try not to see/read the "sister" word lol... it's kinda hard to see it that way..

LOL. I get that. When I first took up the challenge of writing Syd/Nadia (turned to mostly because Alias lost much of its slashability with the loss of the Lauren character, and because Mia (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/fembuck/Mia%20Maestro/maestro.jpg) Maestro (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y295/fembuck/Mia%20Maestro/gapad.jpg) is so stunning gorgeous that not giving her some action was not an option!) I would pause everytime I had to write the word 'sister' and shake my head. But after that gruelling first story, I started to like the challenge of writing them. It's a very brooding, angsty, complicated pairing, cause really both of their lives suck hard.

i never watched ALIAS like i used to, so mind me asking this: Syd & Nad, are they sister in blood? or they just happen to be 'sister'?

They're half-sisters. They have the same mother (who after having an affair and fearing that her cover as a KGB operative would be discovered, faked her death while pregnant with Nadia and went back to Russia. She had Nadia there, who was then taken away by the KGB so that they could run tests on her because of her part in the Rambaldi prophescy about the destruction of the world. Nadia's kidnapped again from the KGB and raised in Argentina before she runs away and eventually becomes a spy for Argentine Intelligence. While, Sydney the older of the two, was raised by her Spy Daddy in Los Angeles before becoming a spy herself. They eventually met 24 years later, when Sydney rescued Nadia from a prison in Chechnya, and after some other stuff happening, Nadia moved to the states, became Syd's roomate and they fought crime together).

So there's more about Alias than you probably ever wanted to know! :D

Anyway, yeah, Syd/Nadia is unconventional and incestuous but they hold a place in my heart nonetheless.
