Blade - Season Finale

OMG! So much love for this episode! I've laughed out loud, gasped, cringed, cheered, and whooped.

Glad to see Blade Totally. Going. There. once again!

"You wearing a wire or some shit?!?" LOL. I don't know why but that line made me laugh my ass off. Probably the combination of the ghetto-ness of the line combined with the generally bitchy disposition of Blade in that scene.

Loved, loved, loved that Chase did turn over to Charlotte's side. LOVED THAT CHASE OUTRIGHT SAID IT WASN'T ABOUT MARCUS. When push comes to shove, I love that Chase totally chose Chase. Plus, Chase was actually trying to do something nice for Krista last week by telling her to give up on Marcus and join her/become her friend. She was giving Krista one last chance to save herself. Also, I love how one of the first things on her list to do after sticking it to Marcus was to claim Krista as her bitch. Too bad Krista plays about as well with others as Blade does, lol. Oh I'm joking, but I appreciated the return of the subtext, plus their bitch fight was awesome, Krista got some great one liners and Chase got away battered but not dead (plus, Marcus' Chase is a badass and you should watch your ass for the rest of your life speech was great). Also, Chase's bloodgasm from torturing Shen was hot. That's right, I said hot.

Loved that Krista totally didn't seem smitten with Marcus this episode. That little dismissive "I've got a headache" peck she gave him when she came out of the bathroom killed me. I laughed, I did I did. Obviously with her "Blade!" at the end distracting Blade from ashing Marcus the connection is still there, but it's not love.

Loved, loved, loved that the Purebloods didn't buy Marcus' bullshit. Too bad they didn't just frenzy on him and eat his ass. At least then he would have been all mangled and shit for the fight.

Loved, loved loved Shen with his bad ass rolling kung-fu moves, and his taking his torture like a man and quipping, and his "do you have any toilet paper" baiting notes of kickassery. And his snark, oh how I love his snark. Shen was totally fine this episode. Plus I gotta add, Krista was totally bad ass by breaking her own fingers to help Shen out. [Stevie Wonder]Knowin' you can always count on me for sure! That's what friends are for![/SW] It was a sweet way to end a torture scene. Plus I love how Marcus was being such a delicious bastard since he totally knew Krista was working for Blade at that point and was friends with Shen.

Loved, loved, loved that Marcus' plan didn't work and BLADE SAVED THE DAY by releasing the gas.

Loved, that Krista was discovered in the end. That was one hell of a cliffhanger. THERE MUST BE A SEASON 2!!! THEY CANNOT LEAVE THINGS LIKE THAT. I WILL CRY. SPIKETV WILL HAVE MADE A GROWN ASS WOMAN CRY!

What I thought was interesting was it seemed like she was playing it like this would be the end. I guess Blade didn't tell her about his plan to keep her attached to Marcus after the Purebloods were obliterated.

Word. It's like she was barely pretending to give a shit about Marcus throughout the whole episode. Her entire attitude about him was summed up for me in that "kiss". And her thinking that she would finally be out would be consistent with Blade not telling her his plans. After all she thought she'd be getting out of the deal with she got him the first sample of Aurora too.

I loved that, at the end of the day, Marcus was betrayed by the two people he trusted most. Sadly, it didn't end with his death but still..

So true. His look of surprise when Chase was revealed was priceless. You know he was thinking "there goes that threesome, damn" that he was totally angling for his 'I want to share this night my two special ladies' smarm speech. Chase's, "Boring, I'm leaving now" attitude in that scene makes so much sense since she knew she'd have Krista all to herself in a half hour, lol. His death would have made the whole thing just perfect though.

I'm gonna have to watch it again before I start nitpicking it.

Me too. Right now I'm still basking in the initial wave of awesome.

Yeah, having her go to the Conclave *especially* if Marcus already knew she was working for Blade was a bit too contrived. From the looks of it, they didn't go to Blade's lair until about a week later. I *really* hope the DVD comes out with alot of added scenes 'cuz there was way too much crap that didn't make sense in the finale. Either Marcus knew Krista was working for Blade when he ordered her to torture Shen, or he didn't know until they were already up in the air. If it's the first then why did he take her. Having Krista come along opens the risk of Blade knowing. And as much as he pontificated on Aurora, you'd think it was way too big a deal to risk bringing his slampiece along.

Oh, and girlfriend should seriously think about adding text messaging to her phone plan. Shen's a geek boi, I'm sure he's prepared for non-voice messages.

Heh, see I wanted them to 'linger' on that reveal so I could see him suffer some more. That and I wanted him to find out Krista betrayed him as well pretty much at the same time so it would be like a double punch of pain!

Totally. He had to have known about her working with Blade, because they only way they got Shen was by following her to Blade's lair sometime after they interceped one of her phone calls. Plus, he totally had her torture Shen just to fuck with her. He'd never had her do something like that before, and his sticking around to watch and telling her to escalate was just maliciously douche-tastic. I think he might have even been testing her last week when he told her to "help" him with Tucker. He obviously didn't need her help with Tucker, and probably just wanted to see what her reaction to killing that dude and being told to clean it up would be.

Having Krista come along opens the risk of Blade knowing. And as much as he pontificated on Aurora, you'd think it was way too big a deal to risk bringing his slampiece along.

The only thing that I can fanwank is that Marcus thought that the gas would effect Blade too if he did show up. I mean Blade was born a vampire so he might have assumed it'd have the same effects on him as a pureblood. But that's a stupid assumption since Blade being a daywalker demonstrates his biochemistry or whatever is different and if Blade was letting him go through with it, that would likely mean it wasn't a threat to him. So yeah, Marcus' is a boner.

lol, I know. In today's day and age Krista really should have been able to come up with better way of communinicating with Blade. It's like sneaking away to pay phones is kind of obvious, and it's like if she was too paranoid to use her cell phone in Chthon, why the hell did she think it would be perfectly safe with Marcus a few meters away on a plane?

That would have been brilliant. Just like that slo-mo pain, like on the Simpsons when Lisa broke Ralph's heart.

Oh God, that speech was soo lame. Like 'I know you two hate each other like two cat on a hot tin roof and, well, I've done absolutely *nothing* to assuage that hatred and pretty much treated the both of you like crap but once all the Purebloods are dead I'm hoping the three of us can hop in the sack and have a good time'.

I think that speech would have been more awesome if a) we, the audience, knew that Marcus knows Krista's a mole and/or b) if we'd known about Chase's betrayal. As it stands now, it was more of the same old/same old, ie, Marcus being a egotistical douchebag and I've seen enough of that for a lifetime. Having either of those two would have added a ton more layers.

I mean I liked it but it just feels like what TPTB were going for and what occured onscreen didn't exactly meet in the end.

So true. Marcus making Krista torture Shen would have had a lot more impact as it was on screen if they'd let on that he knew about Krista. They wouldn't even have necessarily had to have him say it out loud to someone, having like Sabine hand him a note, have his face harden as he read it before crumpling it and then him glare off camera before panning to Krista doing something would have even at least hinted that he knew.
