Blade - Season Finale

OMG! So much love for this episode! I've laughed out loud, gasped, cringed, cheered, and whooped.

Glad to see Blade Totally. Going. There. once again!

"You wearing a wire or some shit?!?" LOL. I don't know why but that line made me laugh my ass off. Probably the combination of the ghetto-ness of the line combined with the generally bitchy disposition of Blade in that scene.

Loved, loved, loved that Chase did turn over to Charlotte's side. LOVED THAT CHASE OUTRIGHT SAID IT WASN'T ABOUT MARCUS. When push comes to shove, I love that Chase totally chose Chase. Plus, Chase was actually trying to do something nice for Krista last week by telling her to give up on Marcus and join her/become her friend. She was giving Krista one last chance to save herself. Also, I love how one of the first things on her list to do after sticking it to Marcus was to claim Krista as her bitch. Too bad Krista plays about as well with others as Blade does, lol. Oh I'm joking, but I appreciated the return of the subtext, plus their bitch fight was awesome, Krista got some great one liners and Chase got away battered but not dead (plus, Marcus' Chase is a badass and you should watch your ass for the rest of your life speech was great). Also, Chase's bloodgasm from torturing Shen was hot. That's right, I said hot.

Loved that Krista totally didn't seem smitten with Marcus this episode. That little dismissive "I've got a headache" peck she gave him when she came out of the bathroom killed me. I laughed, I did I did. Obviously with her "Blade!" at the end distracting Blade from ashing Marcus the connection is still there, but it's not love.

Loved, loved, loved that the Purebloods didn't buy Marcus' bullshit. Too bad they didn't just frenzy on him and eat his ass. At least then he would have been all mangled and shit for the fight.

Loved, loved loved Shen with his bad ass rolling kung-fu moves, and his taking his torture like a man and quipping, and his "do you have any toilet paper" baiting notes of kickassery. And his snark, oh how I love his snark. Shen was totally fine this episode. Plus I gotta add, Krista was totally bad ass by breaking her own fingers to help Shen out. [Stevie Wonder]Knowin' you can always count on me for sure! That's what friends are for![/SW] It was a sweet way to end a torture scene. Plus I love how Marcus was being such a delicious bastard since he totally knew Krista was working for Blade at that point and was friends with Shen.

Loved, loved, loved that Marcus' plan didn't work and BLADE SAVED THE DAY by releasing the gas.

Loved, that Krista was discovered in the end. That was one hell of a cliffhanger. THERE MUST BE A SEASON 2!!! THEY CANNOT LEAVE THINGS LIKE THAT. I WILL CRY. SPIKETV WILL HAVE MADE A GROWN ASS WOMAN CRY!

Crap! It cannot end like that! (I just finished watching the ep).

If Marcus knew for a while, he would've ashed Krista like that. Which means he must have a plan for her, especially with Chase out of the way...for now.

Loved Krista's 'I'm Sorry' to Shen before getting medieval on his fingers. Makes one wonder if what she did to him was the same as what she might have done to people in Iraq?

I'm glad it didn't totally turn into a 'movie' ending. Though here's the question:

Why the *hell* did Krista stop Blade (or distract him, whatever) from killing Marcus, if she doesn't like him for real? I didn't quite get that.

And the eyeball thing? Yuck...'I only need one'...riiight! ;-)

Actually, she broke her own fingers instead of Shen's. And I'm not sure where Marcus got the idea that just because Krista was in Iraq she interrogated/tortured people, other than because he's a dick. She was a sniper for cripe's sake. They shoot people at a distance!

For the same reason Chase hasn't killed Frederick. Marcus is her sire and the 'blood bond' prevents her from killing him. I don't quite get it either, but that's the canon.

True. But she was also involved with some kind of bombing event when we witnessed that memory where's she's being evacuated and she sees that dead soldier next to her. Does being a sniper mean you're always shooting from a distance?

It's also possible Marcus, with his considerable resources, checked out Krista's military background - maybe even on stuff not 'officially' on record. Hey, if the FBI has Familiars, there's no reason it would stop there. ;-)

Yeah, I was hoping Marcus would be ash, but with his last speech and the fact that he allowed Krista to come to the conclave was hanging with her at the end it's clear that he'll be around for a while, and that at least for the first couple episode's or so she'll be around him.

Chase however, I have high hopes for. I'm hoping that next season will be the one where Chase comes into her own and we get to see her in all her glory. Chase flashbacks for Season 2, and more house of Leichen and Frederick.

I'm glad that they had the "I'm sorry" in there, and that they had Krista hurt herself in order to help Shen out in the end. And despite Marcus' asshat claims I doubt Krista did anything like that in the military. As much as she kicks ass and is good with guns she's been shown to be squimish about unneccessary acts of violence and seems sympathetic to others pain, so I don't think that was part of her previous job description. Anyone who's watched a movie or Lost knows to go for the fingers.

I think that goes back to the connection between sire and childe thing mentioned previously. It was probably just instinct to call out (plus, the writers needed some way to save Marcus *boo*). If it was easy for vamps to kill those that made them Frederick would be a pile of ash.

Chase flashbacks for Season 2, and more house of Leichen and Frederick.

I don't want flashbacks for Chase...I want her to have her own arc! Since she knows so much about the virus, maybe she was smart enough to carry a sample and help the other houses make a counter-vaccine.

Oooh...I *cannot* see Chase crawling back to Frederick looking for help.

Perhaps next season we'll see more of Krista's flashbacks while in Iraq.

Yeah, big 'boo!' for Krista saving Marcus.
