No spoilers, just some general comments on the film ...

Saw this last night and lurved it! Yes, it is a tad long, but I have happy to have my butt numbed. I had high expectations going into this film and it met them.

First off, Daniel Craig is the man. He acted the frak out of this role and I love him for it. His Bond was brilliant, cold, arrogant, brutal, charming, resourceful, determined, calculating, occassionally hilarious, buff, and just plain bad-ass. I read a review somewhere that said Craig's Bond was more Jack Bauer in a text than previous Bond's and I kind of agree with this, but Craig was charming and smooth but also one scary mother-frakker which is what the character should be but haven't really been for while. Love Pierce Brosnan, but watching him I always kinda felt like I could take him in a fight ... watching Daniel Craig I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry for my mommy ...which. is. awesome.

Judy Dench was awseome as usual. I heard that the director was tempted to make M a lesbian in this movie but Craig talked him out of it for some reason. It would have been awesome to see M next to a lady during that late night call, and would have fallen in line with recent string of star outtings, but because Craig was so awesome I won't be mad at him. Also, it would have been like a 5 second shot, and if the Craig films continue I'll just slash M with Moneypenny, anyway ;D

Loved seeing Tobias Menzies as the poor man's Q. Mostly it's "Rome" love, I just kept whispering "Brutus!" especially when he got all squimish at things, but it was fun. Also fun seeing Cassie from "Hex" in like a 1 minute cameo. Pretty.

But speaking of pretty now I must go on to rant about EVA fucking GREEN! Brilliant. Now, I loved me some Eva from "The Dreamers", and I thought she was one of the only good things about "Kingdom of Heaven" so I might be a little biased, but I thought that she knocked the ball of the park as Vesper Lynd. I sat up straight in my seat and riveted the moment she arrived on screen. Her Vesper was calm, collected, intelligent, regal, vulnerable, breathtakingly beautiful, tragic and just all around lovely. For this role they really needed someone with as much charisma as Craig and Green brought it in spades. Vesper and James really were a match for each other, even when it came down to inscrutible gazes. I remember that Olivia Wilde was the runner up for the role, and as much as I like Olivia I'm glad she didn't get it, because I don't think she would have been able to bring the weight to the role or the aloof beauty to it that Green did.

Caterina Murino was pretty, but Eva Green is really the only woman worth mentioning in this film.

Mads Mikkelson was excellent as Le Chiffre. Understated performance which made Le Chiffre all the more creepy, plus the character had layers. I enjoyed the stuff with him and his girlfriend, and his talk with Bond. Good stuff. Also, while on the subject of Le Chiffre, was anyone else fascinated by the older Asian woman that kept showing up at his card games. My friend and I were fascinated by her and were coming up with backstories for her. I don't know, great work by the extra I guess ... I wonder what happened to her?

Also, the Parkour at the beginning of the film was totally bad-ass. I loved that Chase sequence. I don't know who that actor was, but he was amazing and I hope he gets lots and lots more stunt work, cause watching him was good fun.

3.5/4 stars for me on this one. The only downside was that it was a bit long, and my ass was numb by the end.

Wow. Eva Green is.....hot.

Truer words were never spoken. Eva Green is sex on legs. And she's even better in motion, only a fraction of her hotness comes through in pictures. Plus, on film there is the accent, she's got this English/French accent that is just swoon worthy.

Thank you for helping me find another obsession. *g*

Glad to share the hotness. You should definately check out "The Dreamers", she's stunning in it and nude quite frequently, lol.

thumbs up for Madame Wu
The extras name was Tsai Chin..and this wasn't her first Bond film.
She was also in You Only Live Twice.

apologies to comment outta the blue.

and I am sooo glad Bond is finally back...that movie was beyond good..so it was a bit long (I never should have had so much soda)
but it followed the book..didnt rely on gadgets..had a sexy woman with a sultry accent..who could act..hell even the effects were good (well aside from some bad comps..but I am waay critical)

gotta go swoon over another film
