Another anime rec for ya'll (it also comes angharad_gov approved!). I just got through watching both seasons of this show I hearted it muchly. I'm now in a very tough position over who to give my heart to, SP's Shizuma or MSM's Sachiko *oh decisions decisions* In any case the writing, animation and character development on this show is much better, it's definately more complex than SP, and while the gay isn't as overt it's definately there and the focus of most of the relationships. I am pleased to meet you...sister!

The story takes place at the Lilian private boarding school for girls, founded 1902, proud proud of its long tradition and elegant school style. Surrounded by the rich environment of Musashino, Lilian boarding school owns a kindergarten, a primary
school, a middle school, a high school and a college (home economics/literature) and a postgraduate college. The school educates young ladies from noble families and equips them with a rich knowledge and fine manners. A cherry tree alley leads to the school and after passing the school gate you'll find yourself on a gingko tree alley.

In order to keep the tradition of a clean pure campus, a system called "sisters" has been established in the high school. By exchanging rosaries in a ceremony the "senpai" (seniors) swear to look after and guide the younger sisters, "Kohai" (the
juniors). Yumi just moved on to her first year in high school and has yet never had a "sister" before, when the admired second year student Sachiko suddenly declares that she will be her "sister".

i totally expect fic from you now --like future!crack!fic! where sachiko, yumi, shizuma & nagisa all end up on vacation in france and eating strawberries & sipping champagne at a cafe in the shadow of the eiffel tower or something. ::evil grin::

the ova of season 3 should be coming out in early december & i'm sure that as soon as it's available, the subbers will be working on it -- the next season has more focus on the sachiko/yumi pair as well as yumi's own search for a petite soeur :) i'll probably be making a big ol' fuss as soon as the subs hit the 'net. :)

Ah! Just watched the first three episodes. This is perfect. I can't believe the work that the fansubbers are putting into this. *sending major good karma points their way*

Sachiko and Yumi chan waltzing together = love. I'm deleting the subplot about the cousin from the memory banks though.

This is reminding me all over again how much I love shojo manga. Have you run into Kaguya Hime by Reiko Shimizu? The art is gorgeous, which is why it's my favorite right now. The main girl character (Akira) is a yummy baby dyke. Shimizu sensei illustrated books are definitely worth getting your hands on.
