My god this picture scares the shit out of me! I can't look directly at it without whimpering, curling into a fetal position and crying for my Mommy. Like there's glam, there's big hair and then there's ... that! It's so coiffed and ... and ... Aslan like. And just like Aslan, Lucy's majestic coiff can inspire fear as well as awe!
In other less ... ah, tussled news ... Marlee Matlin comments on the L word cast being the most difficult Kristanna Loken has ever worked with, saying:
Marlee said Kristanna’s comments about the L Word being “the most difficult cast” she had ever worked with were based around her problems with a specific cast member. “I’m sorry she expressed her feelings to an interviewer, when it was an experience she had on a one-to-one basis with someone. It’s a great show, and for me it was a wonderful experience.”
Considering that all of the scenes Kristanna has been in so far have only featured 12 year old boys and Shane, I know who I'm guessing the problem was with. Looks like I'm going to have to go back to refering to her as Shame.

Date: 2007-02-14 04:12 am (UTC)What's the deal with Kate Moennig? What are the rumours on her? I haven't tried looking at the Datalounge or TWOP threads because they're too long and bitchfight-ey.

Date: 2007-02-14 09:15 pm (UTC)I'm sorry, that was remise of me. After my own horrified reaction I really should have taken as many steps as possible to warn other of [deep booming voice]the terror beyond the cut![/dbv]

Truer words were never spoken about those forums. I've given up on Datalounge, but I still visit TWoP.
Before this season I really hadn't heard much about Kate behavior wise (other than the Karina Lombard bashing that went on on the S2 DVD commentaries), but she's been pretty vocal this season about being upset that Erin Daniels (especially) and Sarah Shahi were written off, and that there are too many new cast members which cuts down on the orginal casts screentime.
So, I don't know whether she's the cast member that Kristanna had a problem with or not, but I know that a lot of the cast was upset about Erin leaving, and they complained publically at conventions about the storylines and the directions their characters were going in so ...unless you had your bestest friend since like the 80s was on set (like Marlee did with Beals), or you were just happy to have a paying acting job (Janina) then I'm guessing that the general atmosphere on set wouldn't have been great to be around.

Date: 2007-02-14 04:12 am (UTC)I'm not really adverse to blame Kate M. for Kristanna's bad experience, but in one of those season promos that was released before the season started they showed some sort of dinner party with all the girls and KL was sitting at the table. This is why I think it might be someone else. But at least Marlee narrows it down to only one person.

Date: 2007-02-14 09:27 pm (UTC)Yeah, that true. After I read this I remembered seeing this picture ...
... and well, I generally don't voluntarily go out to comedy shows with people I don't get along with. Plus there's this quote from her advocate interview, "[on who would be on top in the love scene] ... there was a little bit of this back-and-forth thing before the first love scene - we can chuckle about it now-like, 'Who's gonna be on top?' I relented and was like [to her], 'You know what? Just try it. Just go for it.'..." which makes it seem like they had a pretty good rapport.
So maybe I jumped the gun thinking it was Kate because so far she's the only cast member I've seen Paige on screen with.
If it's not Kate though, I'm really curious as to who it could have been? More tidbits please, I call for more tidbits!

As heard on Lucy Lawless's voicemail
The 80s: "Uh, hi ... Lucy? Yeah, this is The 80s ... omg so embarassing, uh the thing is that we'd you know, uh kinda like our hair back. It was working for us back then when EVERYTHING was over the top, but we kinda feel like you're giving our coiff a bad name and would like it back. Thanks. Loved you on BSG, by the way. Kisses, bye."

You know, I now totally need a .gif of the strap-on action. Seriously too hot, I was able to defrost my car just by thinking about that scene today.

Date: 2007-02-14 10:19 pm (UTC)LMAO. OMG can the 80's call me? That reminds me that I want a t-shirt that says "Made in the 80s" 1984 to be exact. I love it. That was just too funny.

If I knew how to make it, I would. Unfortunately, the person who made my icon *points to icon* Will probably not be up to making one as graphic as the strap-on scene. OMG I still can't believe I saw that last night and this morning on my media player.

Date: 2007-02-14 09:39 pm (UTC)LOL. I think it must be sleep deprived brilliance because that makes me laugh, and also seems kind of accurate in a way I can't quite describe.
I thought Kate Moenning is supposedly awesome. Am I missing something?
I've heard she's really great with her fans, which is awesome. And for the most part she seems pretty laid back. I don't think she's a bad person or anything. I know that she had been frustrated with the direction of the show, and has made comments at conventions about not being happy that Erin and Sarah left the show, or about all of the recent additions to the cast. So I'd say that she probably wasn't a happy camper in general this season.
But I really have no idea if she's the one Kristanna had problems with ... and I did remember after

Date: 2007-02-14 09:44 pm (UTC)Yeah, it's totally like "let's send the new cast members that signed on for multiple seasons out to talk about how Grrrrreat everyone is ... except for that one nameless shadowy figure".
It's not like this is the *first* time there have been comments about behind-the-scenes tension on the set, or cattiness towards newer cast members.
So true, like the Karina Lombard mocking on the S2 DVDs. I mean, maybe she kind of a robotic actresses with a funny European accent, but to make fun of a co-star on a DVD commentary in a laughing 'at' not 'with' kind of way was pretty catty. And even Sarah who eventually was welcomed into the fold, and Rachel Shelley commented that it was tough at first to get close with the cast.
Also, considering that Marlee and JBeals have been like bestest friends since the 80s, she's probably not the most unbiased source. Like I doubt anyone was gonna be ragging on JBeals BFF.

Date: 2007-02-14 09:49 pm (UTC)I feel your pain. The horrible thing is that the picture is oddly captivating and I find myself scrolling up to look at it even though I know I'm just going to scream in terror and scroll down again as soon as I see it.
As for the comments about a cast member being difficult, this isn't the first time it's happened. But oh well...
Yeah, I've heard rumors before too, and the cast in general seemed kind of disgruntled before the season started airing. I hope more tidbits are released though, I really want to know who the holy terror is and speculating is fun!

Yeah, I've heard that too. Not so much that she's a dragon as just really aloof and all "I'll be over here" to guest stars and new cast. Plus, after remembering about the picture of Kate, Mia, Leisha and Kristanna at the Margaret Cho show (see comments above), I'm giving my Kate theory some more thought. After all if they didn't get along I don't see them going out to a show together. And with Kate out of the running (and the other women in the picture) Beals is becoming my number one suspect. Though considering that I doubt Paige and Bette will have any significant screen time together I can't fathom how she would have had time to make Kris miserable, and if she's such a hermit I can't imagine her going out of her way just to obviously ignore someone.
Such intrigue!
