Just got back from 28 Weeks Later.

Some thoughts:

1. Rose Byrne is so pretty. Seriously, I could stare at her soulful, intelligent eyes, strong profile and kissable lips for hours and be perfectly entertained. It'd almost be worth it to be chased by zombies if it meant that she would stand very close to me and whisper comforting words to me before giving me a full body hug. I mean there was one shot where she was just like sitting staring at a computer screen, before she turned her head a little and looked out a window and I was like *SWOON* Cause Rose Byrne is hot like that.

2. Imogen Poots (Tammy) has an unfortunate name, but is one of the most stunning people I've seen in a long time. She has some crazy gorgeous eyes. And they kept on giving us full screen face shots of her and all I could think is "this girl should be a model". Sometimes it was like watching a perfume ad or something because even covered in blood and grime she was so ridiculously luminous. In about three years, when she's an age range that's more comfortable for me, I'll comment on her kissable lips (see: Rose Byrne above)

3. Wow, kids really do ruin everything. When Scarlet was complaining about them not telling her that they were letting kids into Britain, I thought it was cute because it was Rose Byrne saying it and everything she says is awesome, but that she was also being a bit of a drama queen. However, she turned out to be right (how could I have doubted you and your sincere eyes Rose!?!) because in less than 24 hours those kids managed to frak up EVERYTHING! And then frak it up even more at the end. Seriously, the French are going to hate the English even more now thanks to Andy! [sarcastic]Merci, Andy![/sarcastic] *sneer* *mustache twirl* *throwing of rotten arms and legs*

4. Jeremy Renner! I love this guy, and as usually he was dreamy as Doyle. Plus, I'm convinced Doyle thought that Scarlet's lips were kissable too, which makes me like him even more. I was saddened when he died (a really horrible death at that). Damn you, Harold Perrineau. Seriously, between Michael on Lost, and this role, if it wasn't for Mercutio I'd be questioning my love for you, because Flynn was an asshole. My pretty Doyle and Scarlet, not to mention Skinny Crying British Man in the Blue Shirt, would have lived if you had just picked them up the first time. Though killing those zombies with the helicopter blades WAS pretty cool (though Planet Terror kind of beat you to it).

5. The kids father bugged. At the beginning he was kind of interesting because of his very human 'flight' instead of 'fight' response, and though it was idiotic his reaction to seeing his wife was also very real, and the scene that followed was quite scary. However, after that the character just became highly irritating. All I kept on muttering was "when did Robert Carlyle turn into the Terminator?"

Overall, I enjoyed the movie. It wasn't as awesome as the first one, but I thought that it was a decent film. It kept me entertained, there were some really moving scenes, and the cast was very pretty.

Also, I got to see a Rise: Blood Hunter trailer before it, which ruled. Lucy Liu... with my girl, Drew... Cameron D. and Destiny Charlie's Angels, Come on ... oh wait, no none of them except Lucy Liu ... with a short bow, and a blonde Carla Gugino, and vampires, and TOTALLY AWESOME! Well, probably not, but it's totally awesome to me anyway.

Not reading the whole thing because I haven't seen it yet, but yes, Rose Byrne is pretty.

And I laughed for a good minute when I read the names of the kids in the movie. Mackintosh Muggleton didn't get any breaks in that department either.

Imogen's 17, btw, perfectly legal in some countries ;)

LOL! You can't see me but I'm laughing my ass off at the name Mackintosh Muggleton, just like I didn't for about ten minutes when I first read it. OMG! I hope he enjoys his first year at Hogwart's School for Wizardry and Witchcraft? I think the sorting hat will make him Gryffindor!

I know it's legal, but I still feel kind of dirty. She could be in one of the classes I teach! She needs to be at least in Uni, before I don't feel like a letch.

*nods* I'll be 24 in a few days so I should probably feel dirty, and yet somehow...not so much *g*

I try not to think about this movie too much because if I did I'm pretty certain I would hate it. I absolutely *lurve* 28 Days Later and this was just.. ugh.

I think I would have enjoyed it more had two specific things not happened -

1. Had they seriously not tried to make me believe that the military, after finding a survivor, one who may be infected, would NOT be guarded 24/7 with a platoon of soldiers!?!

2. Or have a scene where pretty Rose Byrne and the kids go down into the subway and Rose has the kids go first!?! All I kept thinking was 'you know, if there's anything actually down there, she's going to blow those kids heads off before she shoots them!'.

That and they seemed to have traded scary for LOUD. I seriously thought my eardrums were going to burst from the 'ooh, this scene is scary. How can you tell - the music's LOUD!!!'!

OMG! That bugged me so much. You're so right. It's only been a couple hours but I've already forgotten a large chunk of this movie, but I remember complaining about that in the theatre. There's just no way she would have just been napping there by her lonesome. Also, there's no reason the father should have been able to gain access to her. I know he made that big speech about "owning everything" or whatever, but she would have been so high security that not even the King of the Janitors would have been able to get in there.

2. Or have a scene where pretty Rose Byrne and the kids go down into the subway and Rose has the kids go first!?! All I kept thinking was 'you know, if there's anything actually down there, she's going to blow those kids heads off before she shoots them!'.

LOL! I was laughing during that scene. Especially when Tammy was like "I can't SEE anything" and looking back at Scarlet who just kept directing her. It was like "Pretty Lady, go first and have the kids hold on to you that way you can direct them ... and oh yeah, shoot at zombie instead of the backs of their heads".

It also really bugged me that the father seemed to be like a super zombie who was like able to track their movements and hunt them. Zombies are either undead brain eating machines, or ... well, then they're not zombies. You don't just get to make one smart because your script sucks.

Also, what kind of evacuation plan was that? Seriously, there are infected on the lose so you're just going to pile everyone into one room and ... do nothing? Brilliant!

Honestly, I didn't hate the film, but it really did benefit from Rose Byrne being so pretty ... and me eating popcorn ... and forgetting about half of it by the time I got home.

OMG! That was hilarious! Because giving these people a *plan* to follow incase an outbreak does occur and they don't have to shoot any and everything that moves is soo completely outlandish.

Although, I did get a chuckle out of the US Military controlling London. Like, we can't even secure Baghdad. Then again, every one in London was dead but still.

Honestly, I didn't hate the film...

I probably would have been less diappointed if this were just some random zombie movie. But it was the sequel to one of my favorite movies ever. And where 28 Days Later was a distinctly British horror film, 28 Weeks Later felt like a dumb American horror film set in England.

ugh, now you're makin' me want to watch 28 weeks later, after I swore on my stack of Resident Evil books that I wouldn't.... (zombies shouldn't run, dammit... *nods to self*)
how old is this here Imogen then that she's not in a comfortable age range?

Yeah, this kind of bugs me too. And I muttered about it a couple of times during the film. But if you can overlook it, you'll definately enjoy the first film and probably the second.

She's 17, which is actually legal. It's just a smidgen too young for me to be all like "smack that". When she's reachs 20, she can officially get onto my girlcrush list. Because she really is stunning and british which is awesome.

woo!
17 is good enough for me ^_^

I was arguing with my dad about the running thing
he's like "how do you know" etc. etc.
and I went into some complicated thing and he was like "but to you KNOW"
so irritating...

Hmm... I was going to wait for the DVD release of this but Rose Byrne has sucked me in with her gorgeous... umm well everthing. She's got like a Jordana kind of perfectness happening and I dig it muchly.

She's so pretty that you go past thinking about how pretty she is to wondering how it's even possible.

lol. You definately want to see the perfection that is Rose on the big screen. Seriously, if you're captivated by Rose's perfection you will enjoy the movie because she's just luminous. Whenever something bugged me about it I would just stare at Rose and go into my special Rose zone and everything was right again.

She's so pretty that you go past thinking about how pretty she is to wondering how it's even possible.

That's so true! It's like you can't quite believe that something so perfect exists.

Yeah, you definately want to see this in the theatre. Totally buy the DVD as well, so that you can relive the pretty, but you totally need two stories of Rose as well.
