...because I just genuinely enjoyed a show that aired on Life Time, and didn't have a vampire as a main character. I can kind of excuse watching Blood Ties cause I'll watch almost anything with vampires and I don't really like it per say so much as it doesn't pain me to watch it and Vicki's cool sometimes and Kate is hot and totally needs to break out some of her martial arts moves (Francoise Yip totally know martial arts ya'll, she's been in Jackie Chan movies I'm not being racist!)

However, I just finished watching Army Wives (starring Catherine Bell, Kim Delany, Brigid Brannagh, and a bunch of other people) and I actually liked it. *looks around in a daze*

Now, I never watched JAG, cause well it was JAG, so I never really saw Catherine Bell in much except for that really bad TV movie called Triangle, which was really bad and about the Bermuda Triangle eating people or something. So this is the first time I've seen Catherine Bell in something that didn't suck, and I do declare that she is lovely and amazing and luminous and I kind of love her. I just wanted to hug her character and snuggle with her for the whole episode. Not only that but her character has a pretty interesting storyline with a family that isn't as perfect as it seems on the outside. Note to creepy son Jeremy, you can love your mother but you can't love your mother

Next, I used to love Kim Delany, then she wasn't working for me so much, and now she's back to being awesome. This is Kim Delany is a form I haven't seen her in in a while, and I'm digging it. She plays the classy, pulled together, well-educated, caring, respected den mother of the post, and has a regal kind of elegance and grace that really works. I like this Claudia Joy Holden, in fact I even like that Claudia Joy Holden has three names and that people say it all together like that.

Brigid Brannagh will always be Sasha (Julian Luna's niece who cried tears of blood in one of the best shots ever in anything on Kindred: The Embraced back in the day) to me but I really liked her in this role, and I enjoy her characters brand of non-conformity more than the main character, Roxie's. Part of her storyline had a surprisingly quick resolution but there's definitely interest with her relationship with the other post wives, her budding friendship with Roxie, and her asshole husband.

I'm also totally interested in the storyline with the female Colonel, Joan, who just returned after being in the middle east for two years and is having trouble coping.

As well, because I'm me I'm totally already shipping Denise (Catherine Bell) and Claudia Joy Holden (Kim Delany) based one the fact that their both good looking, Claudia Joy Holden rubbed Denise's thigh very tenderly during the episode, and they hugged a lot and are best friends.

Now, somebody tell me that they saw this show as well and that I am not alone in my shameful like of it ... please ...

Also, if anyone missed it and would like to see it, comment and I'll upload it and post some links.

I can't believe that network has been screwing me over since I was like 15 and I keep going back for more!

Maybe that should be Fox's new catch phrase: screwing viewers over since... forever (I don't want to get age specific, you were 15, I was 13, it gets too confusing). 1996 was a hallmark year for Fox cancellations. If I recall correctly they not only axed Kindred but Profit too.

C. Thomas Howell was the pits but Mark Frankel, Stacy Haiduk, Patrick Bauchau (he'll always be Sydney in my heart), Brigid Brannagh, Jeff Kober (what up baldly?), and Brian Thompson (forever creepy) totally make up for his uselessness. Oh yeah, I can't forget Kelly Rutherford. That's the show that started my unhealthy obsession for the most boring, plain Jane actress in the world.

Okay now I totally have to watch the show like NOW. Do you have the DVD? Apparently there's two versions floating around.

AHHHH *pulls hair* I forgot that Profit was another FOX show that got the axe like 13 episodes in. Those bastards. I'll admit I only got into Profit on DVD, but I loved it and was so bitter that there wasn't more.

Stacy Haiduk

Mmm, Stacy Haiduk.

I have nothing more meaningful to say, just 'mmmm, Stacy Haiduk'. Okay, I'll add on that Lily was delicous and one of my all time favoritest vampire shots is that one of Lily feeding on that guy in the hallway then turning all fanged out and looking up at the camera. Sooo good.

Oh yeah, I can't forget Kelly Rutherford. That's the show that started my unhealthy obsession for the most boring, plain Jane actress in the world.

I too have an irrational love for Kelly Rutherford, so this made me giggle madly. Seriously, she's not that great of an actress, she's pretty but not really great looking, and everything she stars in gets canceled in it's first season (BE SCARED "Gossip Girl", be scared!), and yet I kind of love her. Cah-ra-zee.

Okay now I totally have to watch the show like NOW. Do you have the DVD? Apparently there's two versions floating around.

Yeah, I found the DVDs for like $17 bucks at HMV. It was fanTAStic, I was super happy. I haven't heard about other versions of it though. What's the difference supposed to be?

P.S. We have to add Kate Vernon (oh, alky Ellen Tigh) to the list of awesome things about Kindred. I love Kate Vernon

Precisely!

That is the quintessential description of Kelly Rutherford. In fact I may have to ask you if I can use it as a testimonial. See I run a KR community and we get really bored over there since, well, KR doesn't do much and even when she does it doesn't ever pan out. So my friend and I brainstorm really silly, yet highly entertaining (to only us), KR-related posts and schemes to past the time. For instance, last week she invited KR to some ridiculous event. KR's rep actually called back and asked questions but, alas, she was a no show.

Anyways, I'm thinking a post entitled, "Who actually knows who Kelly Rutherford Is?" may be in order. Of course, I'll have to take it to the streets to get the obligatory, "Who?" response but it still could be fun. So if I do it, can I use your response? It is nice to know that someone outside of our whopping seventeen members is actually familiar with KR.

What's the difference supposed to be?
According to someone else on the internet, "There are two sets of the DVD out - one with the scene at the wake and one with the scene of kissing the ring. The bar code on the back of the one with the ring-kissing scene is 17153-10378. The one with the wake scene is 17153-12155." (http://community.livejournal.com/kindred_fans/6172.html)

I completely forgot Kate! Good catch. I guess there's just too many awesome things about Kindred for me to remember off-hand.

Did you know KR was in a short (posted on iFilm) called, Six Months of Darkness, Six Months of Light that had her kissing another lady? I don't want to go into too many details if you haven't but its totally not horrible (by KR standards).
