OMG! I just saw the 30 Days of Night trailer and it looks amazing!

As a fan of the graphic novel it looks like they've captured the atmosphere of the novel - dark, desolate, and completely alone - perfectly. The vampires themselves are scary and otherworldly looking, which is a way of saying genuinely creepy instead of the sexy, well-dressed vampires that we mostly see in film today. And honestly, the music at the end of the trailer is just kickass and good music in a trailer can totally hook me.

Plus, there's plenty of pretty with Josh Hartnett and Melissa George starring.

i'm glad to see vampires taking back the spotlight from zombies...i think i need to get a copy of the GN cuz this looks pretty intriguing and actually kind of scary...and to go totally OT...i just watched "blade 2" again and that flick is all kinds of bad ass...i'd forgotten that a decent vampire movie can actually get made...there have been so many disappointing ones lately that i've just about given up hope...maybe this flick will turn the tide.

I would definitely recommend it. The story is good, and visually it's very well done.

Yeah, I'm totally ready for the return of the Scary!Vampire. Like I love my sexy well dressed vampires like Chase and Selene and whatnot, but vampires really should be scary and these days we've had way to many fuzzy, emo, 'vampires are just like US only with a blood condition so it's not their fault don't hate them they're just trying to survive' type movies and I'm ready for them to be scary merciless killers that prey on the weak and make you fear the night again.

I have a real soft spot for this movie. I totally love it (and it helps that Leonor Varela is ridiculously hot), in fact I really enjoyed the first two Blade movies (the only redeeming factor of the third one is Jessica Biels' insane hotness, but even that can't make me rewatch the whole thing).

So, yeah totally hoping that 30 Days of Night will re-energize the vampire franchise and make them scary again (also, having 2-3 emo, woe is me, vampires are dark and sexy, and sometimes investigate crimes television shows on the air probably won't help the cause)

exactly!!...what happened to the pure evil incarnate vampires??...i want to somebody do to the vampire genre what "ginger snaps" did for werewolves...

honest to god i don't get the jessica biel thing...she does absolutely nothing for me and blade 3 was a hot f'n mess...but damn 1& especially 2, popped like crazy...now lenora varela's hotness is something i totally get...but ron perlman totally made if for me, because he just reveled in his eviltry...and it was just dirrty dirrty in the best kinda way...and i actually think that's del toro's best movie...and yes that is quite a bold statement, but i'm sticking to it...;)

Word. I want my mysterious, vicious, relentless killers back. Even one of my favorite recent vampire flicks was all like "don't judge them, they're just trying to survive in this wild and crazy world like you and me".

lol, I never used to get it either, but her butchy mcfaculousness in Blade: Trinity won me over, and she's been hot to be ever since. Though I can see how you wouldn't find her hot, even though I now do.

She totally needs to work more, so that I can look at her more. She's gorgeous, and she's not a bad actress.

You're an instigator! I don't necessarily disagree though. Blade 2, just inches our Hellboy for me. And I like Pan's Labrynth but it's not a rewatch movie for me, like Blade 2 and Hellboy.
